... will we hate them quite as much?
If we're honest, it's probably envy that's at the root of our dislike of them, but Fergusson's presence does seem to fuel it (and perhaps even justify it).
I was never a big fan of the Arse, but since that arrogant twat Wenger took the reins, I've hated them all the more. I also quite liked Sheffield Utd before Warnock was manager.
On the other hand, I always hated Villa, particularly under Gregory, but I'm ambivalent towards them now O'Leary's there. I've warmed towards West Brom since Megson's arrival. Personalities play a big part in it for me.
O'Neill always comes across as a decent, likeable sort of bloke. Would you despise Manure with the same venom as you do now if he was in charge?

Disagree with that. I disliked them when they were crap. And for many years they were crap.
I like ONeill too and have for a long time. If he took over at man yoo I'd continue to like him but would just want him to lose every game!

I am with Joe on this one. When I first started watching football there was still a fairly general feeling of good will to them following on from Munich. The general antipathy towards them probably started with the launch of Match of the Day. The nauseating fawning and general worship of everything Man Ure by the media can probably be traced back to then. The appalling behaviour of their fans at the time didn't help a lot either. Other than that, can't say I am really bothered about them!

And now many of the gloryhunters don't appreciate that aspect of their history. I asked one from Southampton who was the captain of tyhe Busby Babes and he said Duncan Edwards! Thick sycophantic parasite!

All the gloryhunters are part of the thing that annoys me, with them constantly surrounding me, telling me how shit Stoke are.

I don't hate Man U as a club, it's just the gloryhunting fans that I detest. If every football fan supported their local club, there would be a lot less financial problems in the game.

You're right there coll. But when thre isn't a club of very high profile in the local area, it ain't gonna happen. The other thngis how ManUre are marketed. All kids see when they grow up is the shit and so it gives them all poisoned minds and want to support ManUre
