Does anyone on here play or help run any sunday morning football teams locally?
If so what league you in and what's your opinion of it?

Sorry suppose you don't really have to play or run a team to have an opinion!

Sorry I must of misunderstood what chewy was asking. I thought the idea of his post was for people to put forward their views of the league that they play in ( i.e. : it's a good/crap/rubbish/excellent league etc. ) not to brag what position they're in !!! ??? ??? ???

Is that the Birches Head Gardeners team fella? If not are they still going and if so what league are they in?
In the PDSL do all divisions have to have changing facilities on site?

Play for the Gardeners in Stoke - Ansells League Div 4
Pitches normally shocking, changing rooms are a rareity but we do get a ref every week, even if the standard of reffing is debatable!
Footy standard is strange is the Ansells, in each league up to Div 1 you normally get 2 brill teams that beat everybody each week, 6 or 7 average teams that beat each other, and 2 or 3 really rubbish teams that struggle to get 11 each week!
I've played in Divs 1,2,3,4 and 5 (honest!) for various teams, and can honestly say that Divs 3-5 are pretty much of the same standard. Div 1 is OK, but you do see a significant difference in the Premier League (Nags Head, Knave of Club, Pitshill Vics etc) with lots of Saturday players.
As for me, I used to score for fun when I was younger, but the toils of all day Sunday drinking (which became all week in my early 20's!) took their toll as I became, shall we say, a little slower and heavier.
Still enjoy it though - Scored a cracker on Sunday!

almost all of the PDSL 2 teams have changing rooms on site. If not then they arent far from the pitch

My lad plays for Longton Rangers in cheadle league U15's. It's a decent league, with some really good young players. Teams have lost lads to pro clubs, and some play for the city / county teams. Biggest problem is, some of the refs aren't fit enough to keep up with play. Then they miss things and the parents get angry - especially when mums little Johnny gets injured by a late or mis-timed tackle.

Parents ought to be banned from watching kids football.
My Johnny this.......my Johnnny that...... pass it to my Johnny......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does your head in. Ever likely you only get the dregs of the referees. Anybody with any degree of competence steers very well clear.
PS Used to manage a kids team. And no my son didn't play in it.

No, its not BH Gardners - not sure if they are still going? All the teams in our division have changing on site, but i don't know if its a requirement or not
