Now the dust has settled how do you feel about it ?
I still haven't brought myself to watch a replay or read a single report, way too disappointed.
It was a strange game for me. I actually got more nervous as it wore on. My impression was that we hardly had a kick and generally got muscled out of it all over the pitch. But despite that were still in with a punchers chance with 15 minutes to go hence my increasing unease until the Man City goal which almost came as a kindness, I couldn't see any way back from there.
Hope we don't have to wait another 148 years...

Same here, its almost as if it never happened!
the final day defeat to Wigan hurt me badly as well, i hate seeing the table and us in 13th we deserved so much more than that, but i suppose our piss poor away form is to blame for the low finish.
what was my best season watching Stoke in 17 years that ive been going, it all ended a bit gutting.
still, hopefully wont be too long before we make a signing or two and we'll all be off on some foreign adventure in 6 weeks! ;D

I got to London about 8.30 and did quite a lot. It was a great day, until the game started. The performance in the final and in the last league games was dire, resulting in a shit end to a decent season.
I recorded the game but I deleted it without watching it

I still can't watch it, far too difficult.
It was the greatest day of my life and ended in a pretty awful state, stayed at Wembley until 6pm, just couldn't believe we'd got that far and they brushed us off so easily. The day itself was fantastic but the match was less so.

Same - still not watched the FA Cup back or read a single report. Man City away was sort of a resigned 'knew it would happen'. Wigan at home really knocked the gloss of what was still a very good season, but highlighted our away strategy coming back to haunt us again and lack of depth in our squad when key injuries take their toll
Our bench has gone from being pretty exciting to crap again

Two very narrow one-nil defeats ended up putting a nasty gloss on the season.
I haven't watched the game either - the sad thing was that we never really even got a look-in. I'd rather have lost 3-1, and had a goal to celebrate, or a bit of hope. It was just a grinding down, with only one real chance and only one period of pressure at 90+ minutes.
The Wigan result was just as bad but how we didn't get one up at least by half time is unfathomable.
Hopefully the experience at Wembley (twice) will be good for the team and the manager, and we can....push on!

It would have knocked the stuffing out of City. The difference between our bench and City's was frightening. We were bringing on Danny Pugh, they were bringing on Adam Johnson.

Strangely enough, last night it crossed my mind to look at the program but I decided not to. Its still in the bag untouched.
I need a bit more time!

I know what you mean with regards to the Man City goal. It kinda put us out of our misery, and we could reflect on what an achievement it had been to make the Final. I was so nervous before and during the game and at the final whistle i almost felt relieved that it was all over. Bizarre feeling that i can't explain.

25 days on and I've just about come round from the hangover.....great day, great occassion.
Ok so we didn't play all that well and came home without a trophy but the memories will live me for ever (those that I can remember that is).
Singing abide with me with the old man at my side is something I'll remember forever. An emotional and memorable moment.
I'll also always remember with fondness th emasses of bread that were raining from the sky outside of the Gloe, Baker Street in the morning of 28th May 2011.

I have also blotted 3.00pm onwards from my mind. It and the Semi Final remain up there with the best days ever to support Stoke. People who I havent seen since before the Final are still popping up and saying 'you must be gutted' - I react with 'No, not at all - there will always be an element of what might have been but definately not gutted'
In fact I would also go as far as saying the Wigan game was more of a choker - the thought of seeing them dancing around on our pitch continues to piss me off !

the extremly high probability (imho) that there isnt anyone yet born who will see Stoke in teh FA Cup final again is the most depressing thing

I woke up the next day thinking - Christ , I had alot to drink - I can't remember Stoke doing anything . It then dawned on me that we had indeed done nothing . I've watched the game - and we don't look any better than when I was there wTching . Plus had a party where my misuss' friend was a Manc fan and he had his camera with all the pics of their victory parade , which sent me on a bit of a downer again . Been a strange few weeks tbh . I'll be ok once the fixture list is out next week tho !

When I watched it for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I was surprised. Not by how shit we were, I remember that, but how, bar a couple of breathtaking taking spells how average Man City were. They didn't have to be that good admittedly but they didn't have chance after chance in the game and when KJ went through they were becoming anonymous as an attacking force.
The right and better team won of course they did but if we hadn't had the misfortune we did in the run up to the game a win was entirely possible.

I watched the match last week and altough we were poor, they were nothing special. If we had the same players available/fully fit that we had for the semi-final, (Huth, Matty, Higgy and Ric) i still think we could have done them. I would feel 100 x worse if we had played really well and lost. We were very poor and they weren't much better. Losing 1-0 against a £300million + team isn't as bad as it felt

I agree with most of the above.
I haven't watched the Final again after being there for real, if for no other reason than it was a shit game imo. I've watched the semi highlights since though! Love the noise when Etherington scores, fuck me it makes the hairs on my neck stand up does that!
The abiding memory for me was that the Final seemed to absolutely fly by.

I was in Italy for the final and watched the game on Sky Italia, and a few days later I stumbled across a 90 minute replay of the match. Whilst we hardly set the world alight, we weren't as bad as I'd remembered. We just kinda didn't turn up, which left those of us watching kinda numb.
Nothing to get angry about, no great injustice or contentious decision, just a slightly numbing feeling of being out muscled on the big day, and nothing in the world we could say or do could change that fact. Hey ho.

I'm proud of my club and proud that they reached further than ever before in the FA cup. We lost narrowly to a full strength City side. Oh well nevermind, I wouldn't dismiss the fact that we could again do very well in all cup competitions in the coming seasons.

Agree with everything, deleted the match without watching, programme in drawer up stairs with two badges bought on the day, programme will almost certainly never be read. The outcome of the game ultimately decided whether it was a good day or not. The Wigan result finished it off for me I came away from the game thinking what a shit season which is daft really, but 13th in the league looks shit to me.

But, although only 6 teams won more games than us in total, we lost 18 games. Only Wolves and Blackpool lost more than that. Also, imo, we need to be winning more of the "bankers". Last season we lost at home to Blackpool, Fulham and Wigan all of which we were expecting to win at that point in the season.

I've still not watched it back and don't intend to as I deleted it when I got home from the final.
I'm incredibly proud that we made it to the final but it hurt like hell to lose and I hate it when customers I haven't spoke to in a while try to engage me in discussion about it which normally starts along the lines of "have you got over the final yet?"

Couldn't bring myself to watch Citeh lift the cup and I've only seen Toures goal replayed once since.
I was over it all pretty quickly though. Still immensely proud of the lads and that Semi Final will stay with me forever.
I don't know about anyone else, but the prospect of European football softened the blow for me.

Cheer the fuck up ! It took us almost 150 years to get there and we (the club, the fans, the players, everyone in red and white - did the Potteries proud)
We were up against one of the most expensive squad of players that have ever graced the wembley turf and we held them at bay for over 70 minutes.
Time and again the overpaid and over rated assemblage of light blue mercenaries were left frustrated by our unfashionable, under valued and over looked team. We dug in and faced up to everything that they threw at us for over an hour. What we lacked in media hype and hyperbole we made up for with heart. Yes we didn't play as well as we know we can, and yes it wasn't pretty at times, and yes we lost - but only by the narrowest of margins - a late scrappy goal! The players (some walking wounded) did all that they could on the day and I was proud of them all.
The fans played their part and when the final whistle blew, they stayed to sing and cheer the team up the steps to collect their medals and applauded them all the way down the tunnel. Nothing of the sort had been seen at Wembley before - both ends of the stadium fulll of fans at the final whistle and 15 minutes beyond - unheard of ! (Note the lack of Man Utd fans at the end of the champions League final)
Supporting Stoke City FC is not just about winning - if it was we'd all of long since jumped off a tall building ! It's about supporting your team. Supporting whichever 11 players happen to be wearing the famous red and white striped shirts, with as many fellow stokies as you can gather in the same place and have a good time.
It was a great occassion (despite the result) and a proud day to be a potter ! I agree with Heavysoul - my semi-final and final tickets are getting framed along with the matchday programme and they're going up on my wall - Lest anyone forget or ever doubt that this was a great day to be a Stokie !

It felt like I spent the whole match waiting for someone to drive a dagger in to my gut, the fact that it took 75 minutes to come only added to the misery of it all. Oh well, onwards and upwards !
