I have heard that pubs in Crewe town are to be closed around the time of the match on police orders
Will that include The Bank does anyone know?

I know a fella who has a bar very near to the ground. The police advise that they close them all. he stays open for guests only. The Brunswick used to have a knock policy.
The Bank does tend to stay open though but he is more catered for away fans. If it's the same landlord he's a palace fan anyway. Remember Ipswich taking over the place one game.

What the fuck is this game coming to.
Can't the police see that we have an I.D. cards in place meaning we have no hooligans, that's right, NO HOOLIGANS. What is the point of closing the pubs if no-one is there for a fight, it only punishes the 'true supporters' that are there. I bet they don't advise the pubs to shut for many other clubs

Just as you approach Crewe there are two of those family style pubs, "Rookery Wood" and "The Brocklebank". Hate these kind of pubs personally but you can drink in them on matchdays. "The Brocklebank" on the left by the roundabout approach has a huge car park and 5 min walk to the ground as well.

The Brocklebank & Rookery Wood both have ample parking but are your typical plastic pubs. The Royal opposite the Station might be open, I'll ask on Thursday. Other than that there are a few dotted around the outskirts of the town centre you might get into should these shut. Apart from that you couls always try the Pi cafe bar at Crewe Hall and see what reaction you get! Try these links www.pubs-now.co.uk/?kp=Crewewww.knowhere.co.uk/3649_eatdrink.html

Wouldn't think Pi r2 would be too keen personally, there is security don't forget as well on entering.
Police have actually shut some town centre pubs as well.

Having said that Bex, Crewe is dead after the shops are closed really. Not too lively anyway. Town centre is a depressing place.
The two "fun" pubs above are sadly the best bet unless folk make there way to Nantwich where I'm sure they'll be able to drink themselves silly at request.

Mark...the police inform the pubs to close. The Bank usually stays open and the manager has said he will for Stoke fans.
many others shut reluctantly. IF you want to drink on Nantwich Rd then definately the best bet. Abot 3 or 4 min walk to the ground.

Absolutely not, not a big place at all. Seats are a rarity in there...not a bad old pub though, do quite like it.
They usually do "Sex on the beach" etc in one of those machines for the more sophisticated fan like Tel, nice pint of Harp and they did have a hot nuts machine (again for Tel ;D)...just pray he doesn't think it's some kind of arcade machine.
