Not bothered in the slightest what goes on at the Vale but can't understand why Bratt won't let the club be sold and also why Mo Chaudry wants to buy it.

Mo wants to buy the club for 1 of 2 reasons: 1: he genuinly wants to 'put something back into his local comminty' - & perhaps get an ego trip out of it 2: he thinks he can make money out if it - e.g. by developing the land & bollocks to the club
think he would fail on either count

Not bothered in the slightest what goes on at the Vale but can't understand why Bratt won't let the club be sold and also why Mo Chaudry wants to buy it. A couple of reasons why Bratt might not want to let the club be sold: 1) He believes that Chaudry is a conman and doesn't believe he has the best interests of the club at heart 2) He's doing a Gadaffi and doesn't want to relinquish the power and the glamour of being a football league chairman. Knowing him a little bit as I do, I think it's a bit of both.

Look at the site where the Old Vic used to stand for instance; it's been derelict for 14 years. It makes absolutely no commercial sense to develop a site in the middle of Burslem; and judging by the case of the Old Vic there is very little demand for such a site either.

The Vale would have gone bust within two years if they'd sold it to Mo. He would have wanted it for the wrong reasons in my opinion.

The reasoning behind Bratt not wanting to sell to chaudry is that he believes that bill bell is some how involved in the buy out and refuses to let him back into the club. Only a rumour mind

I can see why someone would want to buy a league 2 club.
You could loan them some money, obviously at an intrest rate that would suit you. You could transfer the ground to a different company, with you being the said owner of the company (off shore of course) and then charge the club to rent the ground. Then you as chairman would obviously want a salary out of the football club for all of your hard work.
Even though the club might be losing money hand over fist it could be a nice little earner for the chairman.

That's football fans for You! But I do think Bratt is mad for not selling the club by now. He's had many opportunities to and I know he hates Chaudry but surely he can see that he hasn't got the leadership, money or respect to carry on?

I too know Bill and Anne i played football for him Stonesports but i think Bill needs to step aside i know he put in around £30k and his life into Vale but he is taking out £50k a season for being chairman and so far thats a massive return on his initial investment March.

If he sells to Chaudry he will lose his £50,000 a year pay cheque.

I don't think the £50k is an issue.
I think the issue is something no one (including me) is prepared to say.

He loves the power? It's obvious he think Chaudry is bad for the club but why didn't he sell it to any other of the buggers that wanted it? It makes no sense.
Yes Rob, it's the salary he takes/took as chairman/CEO.

That other guy who used to be a Stoke fan was just as dodgy as Mo if not more so. I think there is some truth that Bratty enjoys the trappings of the power and glamour of it all sadly, but I think they'd be far worse off under Mo,

Is the £50k a year thing actually true? I believe he is paid, but didn't he give up a much higher wage from his previous job. He is also past retirement age and is not in the best of health. He would readily give up the post if it was in the best interests of the club.

Usually because they're property developers which I believe is something Bratt has dabbled with himself. ;D Maybe so but at least they have a bit of money. Bratt is clinging on to power by the skin of his teeth. Without his own shares he wouldn't be a director at Vale now. He's said he will quit numerous times for new blood, never has done. He just comes across to me as a bumbling old fool when it comes to business and the Vale. And I know he seems a lovely bloke but his time must be at an end. The stories of incompetence You read on OVF make Scholes look like Richard Branston. ;D
