But isn't the voting system for the Brits a bit incestuous anyway. You scratch my cock and I'll scratch yours.

I'll say it quietly (well, type it softly), but I think it was better when Jonathan King was involved with it... ..and Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox for that matter, so it's clearly rather fucking dire now...

50 Cent...fucking hell what's all that about? That little video before he came on was just painful to watch...look at all the nasty white policemen victimising poor 50 cent and his "niggaz"...then he escapes and runs onto the stage...woo-hoo... Shades of Mark morrison here methinks...gets banged up for stealing sweets from woolworths then builds an entire career out of glamourising his "criminal" lifestyle to impressionable 14 year olds. Cat Deeley was looking good though...

Re The darkness.
Might be good for a laugh now but how much of a career can you make out of taking the piss musically ?

Its deffo right you know! I too am slipping towards thirty and I'm sure I'm becoming my Dad! I had no interest at all in the Brits, and cant even be bothered to find out who won what!!! In another 5-10 years I can see me not knowing any group/band and just listening to my 'old stuff' that kids say is crap!!

I am closing in on the huge milestone of 18 and I too think the Brits are shit. Just there to make the pop-puppets feel good about themselves. The music industry is full off the same old shit, a good looking girl/lad being told how to sing, when to sing and probabley when to wipe their arse their that bloody pampered. Anything that is a little bit different is dismissed by the 'mainstream' music industry and the artist has to make their own way into it. Re: The Darkness, I don't mind them too much to be honest. They are probabley a pop band disguised as a rock band I know, but at least they're something a bit different. If someone told me to dress up in spandex catsuit and sing like a woman I would have told them where to shove it, but these guys had the balls to do it. Damine Rice should have been Best Breakthrough Artist as he actually earned it. Not like 33p a.k.a 'Look at me I'm Eminems mate'

I quite like the darkness, a breath of fresh air compared to some bands. And I can say I saw em when it only cost £3 to get in ;D Not too big on the way the pop world has claimed them for its own, will be interesting to see how they cope with it.

I agree with clintonbaptiste-its absolute toss-about 9 performences and 7 were yanks-(I saw this bit in the paper btw) as I refused watch it.....whatever happened too rock n roll??? I saw Justin (the darkness) was crying backstage after his award that he was given-probly from sum 12 year olds voting in smash hits as well. I cant stand Busted and their "punk" I cant stand any of them yankee performers and as for that soft cow Dildo-that woman gets right up me nose bland singing-toss words that means nothing to me WHATEVER HAPPENED TO REAL ROCK N ROLL!!!!
