Oh God, here we go again...
If you worried about offending someone with a joke then NO jokes would ever be written or told EVER.
Even when a tragedy like 9/11 occurs, and death tolls reach the thousands, someone will have a joke ready.
A good joke is a good joke, and even though i was saddened to hear of the deaths of those chinese people at Morecambe, i still laughed out loud at the "Nee Hi" joke.

Jokes are what help a lot of people get through the day without jumping out of the window with shear frustration. Think of some of the things you've done in your life that are so stupid they make cringe and then think why they don't make you cringe, because of jokes

Jokes can help take the seriousness and sadness out of a tragic event. How many times do people tell funny stories at funnerals etc?
I was told a really funny one yesterday, but its too risqué to put on here. Even though the tree huggers don't seem to be on here as much. ;D

There is a website set up by relatives of the 7/11 disaster with a fair few humorous pics and even jokes on it.
They very much reflect Stuttgart's sentiments above. Dont think anyone was denying Morcambe was a tragic event.
