Eddy, folks like this is why I, like you, can't abide Wigan boards.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=886&p=16&style=1&forumId=3057&action=1&replytoid=2131741400A 6-1 win against us is practically the highlight of their entire history. And even though they are 3rd, still can't tip their average gate over the 10000 mark? hmmmm... Despite all that, the one thing that I really depise them for was the way that some moron screamed 'Come on Wigan' part way through the minutes silence for Sir Stan at the JJB, and then most of their fans seem to be totally oblivious to it, and say that it was Stoke fans that dishonoured the great man that day! Absolutely disgraceful and unforgiveable. PS: Just wanted to add that it's a very dangerous thing to tar all supporters with the same brush! (So apologies to decent Wigan folk out there) Just feel that Wigan and ourselves have developed a rivalry in a similar fashion to that which we had with Stockport in the early 90's??

DIVISION 1
HATED TEAMS
Crwho?- I hate Graham McGarry spunking off into his pants everytime they get a corner. I hate their smug fans. I hate Dario's asthmatic post match bore-athons.
Cardiff- Jumped up nobodies who I would gladly see go to the wall. plus they signed Peter Thorne, who at the time was my favourite Stoke player.
DISLIKED TEAMS
Wigan- Same reason as Cardiff. Nonentities with delusions of grandeur. Tossers.
Sheff Utd- A bunch of cheating bastards led by the king of all the cheating bastards...Neil Warnock. He is simply vile.
Derby- Sheepshaggers. disliking them is compulsory for a true Stokie.
Smallsall- No-one knows you...no-one knows you...no-one cares.
Franchise Fc- For obvious reasons. Stupid bastards. The only other club (along with Wigan and Cardiff) whom I would wish bankruptcy on.
LIKED TEAMS
Norwich - Fond memories of them being the plucky underdogs who somehow reached the UEFA cup. Plus I used to like their badge when i was a kid!
Notts Forest- Used to know someone who supported them...plus I used to have a soft spot for them in the Clough era. They always played good football, plus they also hate Derby.
West Brom- Always thought of them as being the most similiar club to us (until recently!) and I like Gary Megson.
The rest I am completely indifferent too...yes, even Gillingham.

I don't really hate crwho or consider them our rivals (in the same sense as Vale or Baadiff). But the amount of coverage they get on Radio Stoke does piss me off, and McGarry's boringness is second only to that of the man he loves.
So the top three
Cardiff - Debatably our biggest (non-Vale) rivals?
Milton Keynes - The only club I hope go out of existance and die a horrible slow death
WBA - boing boing? Boing boing fuck off

Sheffield United, Sheffield United and er Sheffield United. I find Crwho and Wigan annoying but Ilford's missus supports Wigan so it would be unfair to 'hate' them Rotherham also get up my nose for some reason

Cardiff are the first result I look out for these days I must admit, I'm sure we'll think it quaint in a few years time when they're back where they belong the one thing that I really depise them for was the way that some moron screamed 'Come on Wigan' part way through the minutes silence for Sir Stan at the JJB, and then most of their fans seem to be totally oblivious to it, and say that it was Stoke fans that dishonoured the great man that day! Absolutely disgraceful and unforgiveable. this has been done a thousand times I know but I think that's a bit unfair. What happened that day had bugger all to do with any (alleged) reaction to the minutes silence.

Fair enough Dom, and yes it has been done to death. It's just an explanation as to where my own particular dislike for them stems from. I wasn't party to any of the problems that day firsthand, as I actually listened to the game via the radio, so perhaps should keep my mouth shut really; just saying it the way I saw it? The post was a bit of a kneejerk reaction, and I tried to redeem myself a bit by adding on that it was dangerous to tar all with the same brush, as I hate it when many opposition fans can do it with Stoke's following! Although I am suprised at the number of people listing Derby. Did I miss something?? Never really developed an opinion on them to be honest .

i think it's because they fondle sheep.
for me, wigan(because my mate supports them, and they have a sugar daddy.) smallsall (twatty bollocks Lee) franchise (i hope they go out of business) sheff utd(cheating pricks) bardiff (their fans, chairman, manager and kav)
crewe don't bother me, i do not really care, no i really don't.
so here's a question, how hated are stoke??

I hate Warnock so Sheff Utd I suppose although got a couple of Blades mates who aren't too keen on him either. Him more than the team.
Can't really say there's a team I really hate, the arrogant little clubs can be annoying like Cardiff and Wigan but not particularly concerned by them. Those who have fans who spend more time concerned with us are just really giving us respect, an attempt to gain recognition.
I really dislike Everton but give them another season or so before they're a div 1 side.

Broadack,
How hated are Stoke? A lot by the looks of things! Unfortunately we have our fair share of idiots and keyboard warriors to make us a set of fans that aren't the most welcome in the land. I think we were more disliked in the 2nd division due to the whole 'big fish in a small pond' tag, and many clubs found an arrogance that they did not like whatsoever (from a certain section of our fans). It's slightly different in the 1st though. We're no longer a big fish really, and local rivalry isn't really at a premium with the likes of Fail and Wolves being in other divisions. We're certainly not the most hated club in this division, probably about mid-table obscurity I'd say. (The likes of Sheff Utd are WAY out in front!)

I don't mind Sheffield United and I actually think that. although Warnock can be such a wind-up merchant at times, the game does need characters like him. Living up in Sheffield and know quite a lot of Blades fans, I would say their club is a lot more similar to Stoke than many of us would care to admit:
Working class fan base Fair few trouble makers Can be vociferous and 'in your face' Disliked by quite a few other clubs Play in red and white stripes
My top three dislikes are: Cardiff Crewe Derby
