Noel Gallagher has become the new Oasis drummer-bad news for me as he's one of me guitar hero's-people say he's crap-but he has influenced my style-will be odd to see him play the drums-hope he's still writing all of the guitar music for Oasis so that Gem and Liam can continue with his style

Yeah I read that, but whats he going to do if they tour again, have a big f#ck off drum on his back like a one man band.Does anyone know if they are touring this year.I went Old Trafford cricket ground last year and they were sh#t hot,on the lash all day in Manc then see Oasis at night, cracking day apart from the £50 taxi to Stoke.

surprised they are still going with so many changes to the original line up. Should have knocked it on the head after Knebworth and finish at the top. Unfortunately now people are going to remember them for Standing on the shoulders of giants and be here now, which are imho two fcucking awful records

Definately Maybe and Morning Glory were two fucking superb albums.
I agree that Standing on the Shoulder was toss, but Heathen Chemistry is actually pretty good.

yeah it wasn't a bad record, but its hard not compare an artists new record, with previous excellent or dreadful work.
In this case Oasis will ALWAYS be compared against the brilliant yardstick of definitely maybe and the pretty good morning glory. IMHO morning glory's huge commercial success was Oasis's downfall.
People talk about the 'difficult' or challenging 2nd album, in Oasis's case it was the difficult 3rd album to which they really did not deliver and ever since every album to a certain degree has been under incredible scrutiny.

What a fucking joke Oasis are.
Didn't Noel do some drumming on a side project band a while ago? (Tailgunner or something).
Thankfully I never heard it but I read a few reviews which were less than complimentary about his drumming style. I recall that one reviewer called it "Meat and two veg drumming" which I thought was pretty amusing.
The only redeeming feature that Oasis have ever had is Liam's snarling frontman persona. He may have borrowed it from Johnny Rotten and thrown in a little Ian Brown too, but it wasn't half effective. Now he'll be stuck behing an acoustic guitar probably struggling to remember how to form an a minor 7th instead of pacing the stage and snarling.
" Definately maybe" was a good album, everything else has been shite with an occasional glimpse of mediocrity. Where did it all go wrong? The second that they started to believe the hype.

Did you know 'Where Did It All Go Wrong?' was track 7 on Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants Trouserdog?
I don't care what anybody says, Oasis are class. I was pretty miffed about Be Here Now, SOTSOG and Heathen Chemistry at first but now I genuinely believe they are good records.
I don't like the idea of Liam on guitar at all though. Noel could have just given Gem lead anyway and played rhythm himself.
Anybody know why the rest of the band asked Alan White to leave?!

right: Rumour why WHitey "left"-tendons kept on going as he grips the drum sticks wrong and couldnt play anymore
truth:The band sacked him as he was not showing enough commitment to the group like the rest of the band were-he failed to turn up to practises and he leaked a copy of Heathen Chemistry on to the internet before it went on sale thats from noelrock.com
I like standing on the shoulders of giants-pretty good album IMHO doesnt deserve the slating it gets-gas panic and where did it all go wrong are equally as good as anything on WTSMG? Be here now was too different-too pop like-however I do like D'yknow what i mean, magic pie, stand by me and its getting better man, Heathen Chemistry got boring after a bit compared to definitly maybe but isnt a bad album
The next one sounds like The Stone Roses (self titled album ;D) Definitly maybe (all of them are supposed to sound like this according to every magazine and inside info) and phsycadelic 60's thats what NME printed anyway
I LOVE OASIS ME ESPECIALLY WHEN JOHNNY MARR TOURS WITH THEM ;D

A ha, a source of Oasis info.
As soon as you hear when the Glastonbury tickets are going on sale (providing Oasis are playing) tell me through a PM (if this board or one like it is up) or e-mail me (I don't want every other bugger on here knowing...)
;D
