I have just spoken to that man of mystery, Ilford Dave, who is taking a break from the rough and tumble of the Oatie Board. Anyway he asked me to advise all interested Stokies who know Kathryn that she goes into hospital tomorrow for her cancer op and expects to be in for three or four days recuperation before coming home - hopefully to a full recovery in time. I am sure many of you in the EAS will have met Kathryn, as I and some others have have in D's and will give her and Dave some time in your thoughts and prayers. I have passed on my best wishes and said I am sure I speak for many of you. She may be a Wigan Bird but she's ok in my book!

Kathryn, I expect Dave asked me to do the bulletin as he was afraid we would all think you were delerious for suggesting Wigan could possibly make the playoffs! ;D

Dave, Kathryn, I know it's all-too-readily said, yet hard to adhere to, but don't you worry - it'll be ok. Trust me - I'm a doctor! You're smashin' together and I know you'll pull through it because you've got each other - that's half the battle won already! You just think o' the boozin' sesh we'll have in Wiggin when the Mighty Rip-Roaring Potters (TM) win the play-off semi at t' JJB! ;D I've already planned it...: Red Robin - Moon Under t'Water - Dragon (opposite Wallgate) for tea - Baa Baa - Aus Bar - Flares - Little 15 - Yates's - Berkeley Square....etc... ;D It'll be "reet" as they say oop 'ere! Love, Adie, John, Richard 'n' Paul - the Chorley, Halifax & Wiggin Stokies!! ;D

fear not JR I have returned (but will not be as prolific as you)
anyway, thank you, EVERYONE OF YOU who has left a message, or even read the threads. as you will have seen Kathryn has read all your kind thoughts & sentiments.
I took Kathryn to the Hospital @ 7am this morning, she was wheeled off to theatre about 8.40am, its a relatively short operation, they just remove the area that contains the Cancer. Then she gets 3-4 days in Hospital, followed by a MONTH skiving (I mean recuperating) , I told her I'd get her work to send over a computer so she could work from home ;D
I expect the hospital will ring me soon to say she is out of Theatre, and I will be there most of the day, but I'm not working tonight (again driving is not the best think to be doing at this point in time) so when I return from hospital I will take my mind off it as best I can, by Opening a beer or 3, and reading everyones posts, I expect I may even post some thoughts.
PS incase anybody is wondering what in gods name I am doing at home. ... as I just said to my mate chopper on the phone.
I could have stayed, and worn out the carpet a little, but I'd have done my nut in, I could have been there when she comes out of theatre, but I DON'T WANT to see her lying there unconcious, I will go back when she comes round, and is almost compus mentis (sp) again, I don't want to see her like that, it would only make me all emotional. I find it easy this way, The hospital is only 10mins drive away

I'm supposed to be sleeping now, but feel wide awake again after feeling so drowsy at the hospital earlier.
mind u it was about 90F in her room.....
Any way she's fine, doing great in fact, operation went well, they just removed the minimum amount, and I am a relieved man, my second greastest fear, after Kathryn's well being, was that this would leave us unable to have children, thankfully with the wonders of modern medicine, they have only taken a little bit out , just the cancerous area "the cervix". So all being well, I can still be a Dad, should we ever be blessed in that department.
Visiting time at the hospital is till 9pm ... so once the ruch hour dies I will go back down there for a few hours.

Dave & Kathryn, all the very best. I saw you in the pub at Watford and Kathryn looked very fit and well so should hopefully be strong enough to get over this, God willing. My mother had a cancer op last year and is fine and she is in her 70's so I'm sure the signs are good for you two.
Take care.

Cheers Fella, well say hi if you see me again. Watford was a top day out, followed by the Travis gig @ the Ally Pally. I've just got back from the Hospital, visiting finishes @ 9pm, she's doing great, looks a whole lot better, everythings working properly & she's off a drip. Apparently I can have her back on Tuesday morning.

Dave, I guess you've "got her back" now. Was that wise ;D Ther's a lot to be said for peace and quiet Anyway, here's hoping that Kathryn gets well very soon, perhaps in time to see the mighty Potters stuff Wigan ??? or would that cause a relapse?

She's home, the cats are showering her with affection, but she can't do awt for 3 weeks....supposed to stay in bed or on sofa ..... 3 weeks...means she won't be well enough to make the wigan game, which is a right royal pain in the arse, cos we both look forward to this fixture so much ??? every season.
However she's been signed off for 6 weeks.... ;D
