Smudge (and anyone else who likes baseball) - having realied how much enjoyment the Penguin game has brought to the good folks on this board, does anyone else think that what this over-worked, stressed-out country needs is a few US-style community batting cages?!
You know - they're a bit like driving ranges but for baseball not golf. You pay a few quid for a bucket of balls, load up a machine to pitch at you and release some of the tension by slugging a few into the outfield!
All the fun of the driving range but without having to worry about crap like technique, aiming or being remotely good at golf. I've said for years they'd be a hit.
Waddya think?

They're great fun. First time I ever went in one was about 10 years ago. Put the money in and thought no need for the helmet. Stood trying to do a baseball type pose, nothing happened. As soon as I let the bat down, whack right on the cheek. Smarted for about 3 days.
There's also an American Footie type one have played on a few times where you have to make the passes through different holes.
