fact No 1 Your club FC Stoke City is tv rights owner for a first leg fact No 2 Your club FC Stoke City first agreed contract with Croatian Television and after few hours cancel the deal Your facts are both wrong. Rights for Europa League matches are held by UEFA, not by any of the clubs taking part. It's not on TV because no station has decided to bid for it, or no one wants to pay the price UEFA want for it, given the respective size of both teams. Given that there are about 20 or so Europa qualifiers tomorrow, most broadcasters are going for bigger fish. As a Stoke fan, this isn't news to us. Our games are rarely televised, and it's just one of those things. We manage by finding a stream, or going to the club to support our team. It's not some horrific insult aimed at Hajduk, it's just the way it is. We'd all love to watch the game on Sky Sports 1, but that's not going to happen, and that's just something we have to live with. And so do you.

A rational post on here - finally! Yeah. Except that he should get his facts straight before correcting someone else UEFA holds rights only for group stage and later. Clubs are in charge of qualifiers. Anyway, it's disappointing, but I don't blame Stoke. If they don't want to be bothered with selling TV rights, I guess they have a good reason for that. Or they are simply incompetent. Either way, it's their decision

I have no reason to doubt what you say. But no TV channel in the UK would want to broadcast the game, and like someone else said perhaps no Croatian channels 'bid' for the rights, nobody knows.

Dear Sasa We understand your view and trust me we would love to have done a deal with HRT on this match. However, as there is no interest at all from a UK broadcaster and due to the limited amount of time difficult to find a production company within the set budget we will not be able to provide you with the rights for this match. This is not the fault of HRT at all and I hope the viewers in Split will understand this. Please do not hesitate to contact me. What the actual fuck? is all I can say to the last page of this thread. ;D ;D Someone needs to explain our new English friends the reason why we are acting so crazy regarding the Tv (none)broadcasting. The sam thing happend last year - twice. Both times our national tv company told us that there is nothing that they can do, that the other side have no interest in brodcasting the games. In the end one game was broadcast by a private TV station, and there was a stream of the other game on the internet. On the other hand, the assriders from dinamo zagreb can play on the northpole, there is alwas a way to broadcast them. Because of that there is a huge outrage going on against our national tv company, many people are cancelling their subscription's. In short we are pissed as it is, and now we learn that there is no broadcast from England the "home of the game"?! We are not really mad at you, we are just mad because of the situation, and we don't know who the fuck is lying and who is to blame for this. Having said that for a better understanding of the split mind i must say that it is a little strange that there is no interest to broadcast on youre club's behalf. I can't imagine that Germany or any of the big western countrys would not cover any of their club's in Europe competitions. Man im so tired now...

There's also the fact that, well, Stoke are kinda new to this. How many games have we had before where we've had to organise our own broadcast rights?

What is strange about no TV channels being interested? We are not a big club, nobody outside of Stoke on Trent are bothered about this fixture. Well, i'll try to explain our point of view this way: The other club from Split- Split- wich is playing against Fullham, have exactly 12-15 fans, maybe even up to 20. But still it is normal that their Europian games will be on Tv, and that is true for any club in Croatia. Cause they kind of representing their country. But maybe you don't see it that way in England. I lived some time in Germany and they are gonna broadcast all of their teams, no matter how big or small any of the clubs are.

I'd even go as far as saying we are one of the most disliked teams in the Premiership - because of our perceived style of play, and 'over physical-ness'. We have no local TV station, ITV don't want to show the game and neither do channel 5. Would you be able to get those channels in Croatia anyway?

Stoke fans would love to broadcast the game too. Unfortunately, with 21+ qualifiers all running tomorrow, broadcasters are going to pick the ones with most demand.
It's not just us - Atlético Madrid / Stromsgodset isn't being shown, nor is Sparta Praha / Sarajevo, nor are a few others.

In this country, we have 4 teams in the Champions' League - all of whom are detested by the population at large - and broadcasters ram every single tedious minute of their European campaigns down our throats. There was a lot of good will for Tottebham last year, but nobody sees vile cheating cunts like Arsenal or Manchester United as representatives of England. Most support whoever the opposition is. I think we have another 4 teams in the Europa League, so interest in the qualifying rounds isn't that high. Nobody is really arsed enough about us or Fulham to watch us playing qualifying games. The expectation is that the games will be equivalent to pre-season friendlies played against a tiny team from Estonia. I doubt anybody expected us to play anybody quite so big or well known as Hajduk Split. For the average neutral supporter in this country, the Europa League doesn't become interesting unless a likeable English team gets to the Quarter Final stage.
