Home is the place that you feel relieved to walk in to after you have just returned from a wonderful holiday; home is where you can lay down your head and sleep in total peace; home is where, when you close your eyes, you don't want to be anywhere else; home is where the sounds around you make you smile and put you at ease; home is simply where your heart is. I have travelled to every city in this country and to many others. I've laid my head down probably in more places than most. Home for me is where I am right now - here at the Dresden Marmalade Mines. I wouldn't want it any other way. To top that, I live within 5 travelling minutes of The Brit. What more could I want! OS.

Firstly, Stoke will always be home for me. Its where I tell anyone i meet that i am from and would never say I was from anywhere else.
BUT...
I have lived away frome 'home' now for about 5 years or so. Iv'e had a few years in Bournemouth(favourite place so far), a year in N.Wales where my parents now live and a couple of years in London where I currently live. But i don't intend on staying here for too much longer. Thing is, the longer i'm away from stoke the less feasible it is to see me returning mainly because of lack of job opportunities e.t.c. But where else do you go and how do you choose? I'm unlikely to have a job that makes me go to a specified area so i am actively seeking somewhere that I can be happy living and be my second home. Like the idea of moving abroad but can't see a viable option! Anyone have any reccomendations of places?
Sometimes I think that not leaving the place you grew up is a blessing in disguise as theres never any confusion of where is home. Simple things and all that. But as i said, trouble of being away for a while is it makes you less keen on moving back. Well for me anyway ( i think) !

Stone, lived in the same house for all me 17 years on Gods fair earth. Thinking of possibley moving somewhere though. I'm going on holiday to see my ex-girlfriend (she was on a GAP year over here) in July and am thinking about asking about us getting back together and me going over there. A long shot I know but we just got on so well it seems the right thing to do. Weird really!!! And that's the end of my love stroy

Born and bred in Stone, spent lots of time in Stoke as a kid but went to university in Sheffield at 18. After I graduated, I went back to Stone for a year but lack of job opportunities and the fact that most of my friends had moved away, led to me returning to Sheffield.
Been back here for 4 years now. Got a good job, about to buy a house here with my boyfriend and feel a real part of the community where I live. Couldn't be happier really.
But...... nothing beats the feeling I get when I'm on the train on a Saturday morning and it pulls into Stoke station. Nothing beats the feeling I get when I walk up towards the Britannia Stadium and it first comes into view. Nothing beats the feeling I get when I meet up with friends and family for a few beers before the game and talk about all things Stoke. Nothing beats the feeling I get when the lads run out onto the pitch at five to three and the crowd roar with expectation.
Stoke and the surrounding area will always be home to me no matter how long I live away. And I am grateful to my football club for giving me reason to return there so regularly.
