its an extraordinary interview, to say he doesn't like the press would be putting it mildly

Probably one of the best interviews I've read this year! It's the media that down tread us all the time so lets give them what they deserve! Mind you, you wont hear Kenwynne talk like that to the local media!! He cant do enough for the local guys, but the nationals! Fuck em!

An amazing interview that is refreshingly honest in today's world. You do however suspect that the interviewer didn't take to KJ or his views on the press judging by the decision to include the "fuck off" bit at the end. It is a bit a cheap way of having a go at him as clearly that was something which was "off record" or should have been as many comments made during interviews often are. Other than that it's a interesting article and gets bonus points for using "shellacking".

He comes across as very arrogant? Or is that just me? Dont think he sounds arrogant as the media have painted a negative image of Stoke and their style of football sounds to me like he has had enough of media critics.

Brilliant ;D
Its no secret that he hates the press. Fair play to him giving them a hard time in return.
Remember his reaction to the crowd at Wembley when we were singing 'we play how we want'.
We've got a very loyal & committed player in Kenwyne by the looks of things!

Well done Kenwyne although by the tone of his responses he seems well informed of the ways of the gutter press.

I like his attitude to the media...but does it really need an expletive! Significant lack of class I'm afraid.

Dont think he sounds arrogant as the media have painted a negative image of Stoke and their style of football sounds to me like he has had enough of media critics. I remember reading an interview when he was at sunderland and a few months of being here an they were quite similar to this. But i spoke to him at the start of the season and he was as you would expect, laid back, gentle etc.

I witnessed this interview and if I'm honest the press were looking for angles and gave him a rough ride. He answered every question with a beaming smile and was very forthcoming. The response to the photo request was understandable as it tends to be a 10 to 15 minute episode. As soon as he saw my female colleague had heard the F*ck off statement (again said with a beaming smile) he apologised. She persuaded him to do an interview after he had said no to a local paper. In the interview he was very funny and honest. 6 towns radio will play this in their FA Cup final special on Thursday evening which is planned for 5 til 7 pm

Really liked that. Shows he's got that individualist strength of character that a good striker should have. That's something that doesn't always come across in his TV interviews as he often does appear a bit of a nice guy.

Interesting eye-witness account from scfcrob. Tends to support the suspicion that the press were ready to paint Kenwyne into a corner - and he fell into their trap. That said, the media have been very kind to Stoke in recent months, particularly after the semi-final win over Bolton. But you can see the way they are heading before next weekend - the Good Guys of Man City v The Bad Guys of Stoke. We are supposed to be the pesky villains of the plot next weekend - and interviews like this only serve to support that agenda. Someone at the club needs to get a grip of the PR. They've done that before... I believe that the bad guys were of Wimbledon however.

WTF ? a minute a go you were slating kenwyne for being arrogant - now hes stupid as well? Hes just not a media hungry whore - and hes realised that if the press dont like him the sky wont fall in and in fact all he has to do is the job hes paid for - which is to score goals ! Media have fucked us over for years and because theyve written a good account on a 5-0 (generous of em that is!) people think we should be up their arses. Some people are never happy if unless they are moaning!
