Oh really?
If we beat Bristol and results have gone our way this coming week and earlier on the day. We could be playing for promotion.
And you say you aren't going!

Yeah correct, I would love to be at the game to give my support to the lads, but they wont get any support with me sitting at the brit when they are in colchester.. so ill listen on the radio and shout for them there, they would get exactly the same level of support if i was at the brit.

It wont make any difference for me, because im not there ... I dont want to watch it on tele if i cant be there to shout at them and help spur them on, plus for £12.00 its a bit expensive! I spend over £100 quid today, and then 50 odd on a season ticket, so 12 quid to go and watch a big tele doesnt do it for me

I won't be there I'll be at Layer road. Just hope results fall for us and we can do the biz on Saturday. What a promotion party it will be.

Ok, i don't understand you'd rather listen than watch, but other points taken.
However, this may not be just any game. We could get promoted at the end of the game. Now i know the atmosphere won't match the ground itself. But surely being in a stand with thousands watching the event and potentially celebrating it with them would be worth it. Thousands of Stokies in delirium and ecstacy, not believing the unthinkable has happened. All glad they're celebrating together in the second-place in the world to be.
Will your home match that?

The leicster game will As i said, I am prepared to miss watching it on a beam back for £12.00, aslong as we win and get promoted i dont care where I am. But after spending alot of money today on Season ticket and the match I need to look after the pennies

I think it would have been a nice gesture for the club to make the beaming free to Season Ticket holders. They are the ones who have missed out on the various offers this season.

has anyone got a link to were i get the info from Beam-Back Go Ahead Posted on: Fri 04 Apr 2008 The club have now been given the go-ahead by both Colchester United and the Football League to broadcast City's visit to Layer Road on the 26th April on a 42 square metre screen on the perimeter of the track around the pitch with full match commentary. The Seddon Stand will be open for supporters with the screen based in front of the West Stand Turnstiles will be open from 1:30pm with food and drinks being served in the kiosks around the concourse, and alcoholic drinks will be permitted in the seating area. Tickets will be available at the Britannia Stadium Ticket Office on Monday 7th April at 9am priced at £12 Adults and £6 Concessions (Over 65/Under 17's). Car parking is available free of charge on the south car park on a strictly first come first served basis. Announcing the news, Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: "With limited tickets available for Colchester we appreciate that demand for this game would be extremely high. "Having now gained permission from both Colchester and the Football League we are delighted to announce that this crucial tie is going to be available on a big screen here at the Britannia Stadium for those fans unable to travel." Commenting on the beam-back Head of PR and Media Steve Buxton, said: "It was important that we worked to achieve the beam-back to enable as many Stoke fans to see this massive game.. "With the screen bigger than ever for this fixture, we are expecting a fantastic day with a great carnival atmosphere." The club has shown several games on a big screen over the past few seasons, and each one proved to be a huge success. None more so that when over 9,000 supporters packed in to the West Stand to cheer the Potters on to victory over Cardiff City in the Division Two Play-Offs in 2002

The brit really does seem the place to be, if we are going into the game needing a win to guarantee promotion it will be full to the rafters, £12 is a bit steep, but hey trips to places like Arsenal, Chelsea, Man utd etc..... next year wont come cheap either !

SuperMan' s right.
If you go all the way down there, then make it worth your while. I'd be going up to every single turnstile available trying to blag my way in. Then I'd get hold of a luminous vest and pretend I was a steward. Going down the day before and seeing if there are any returns in their end might be another option.
Stand by the players coach and pray for a comp off a player or staffer, or as a last resort, there are always going to be a few touts about.
Or do as that Manc plum did and go in full kit and boots, hide in the bogs for 4 hours and then run out with the team. Put a goalie top on and just say you're Gordon Marshall!
No game is unblaggable. Prove it dave.

I think the club have spent enough money this season, hiring the big screen, paying for the satellite link and the hire of all the equipment involved, no doubt Colchester will expect a payment too. So taking all of that into consideration £12 probably isn't that bad.
I'm supposed to be at work on that afternoon but I will try to book the day off or swap my shift so I can go along.
