Reading some of the comments on here makes me smile. "Hoping for better". As a Bolton fan I'd not swap any one of your players for Holden. Had he not got injured and carried on as he was he was a 20M pound player and thats no exaggeration. You'll find they were discussing our apparent interest in signing Muamba, nothing to do with Holden. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/ibnJJzaA6ZhfTOIekEAf.gif) I didn't think it was that ambiguous either! ;D

Oh right, sorry, well as for Muamba if you pay 5M for him then you've wasted about 5M.
He's gone backwards this year. He can't pass a simple 6 yard ball. He's good when backs are against the wall wins it back, then gives it straight away. He's actually quite embarrassing at times. So good luck to you with that.
End of the day you'll only get him should Coyle wants to sell him and I think given the money you've got you should be looking at players better than ones we want rid of!
Back to Holden this really has scuppered our chances. Its a shame as an even game which could have been great has swung so far in your favour its spoiled it IMO! Not for you guys I guess though!

Surely it doesn't make that much of a difference, mate? A lot of your lot are raving about Mark Davies' talent. And I doubt you've got in the top 8 solely on the efforts of Stuart Holden!

No mate, I think we all would prefer to play and beat your best XI. Sad news for the lad himself, but the outcome is still 50:50 as it was before that insane Evans challenge put him out for so long.

I haven't seen it but from what you've said it sounds the same scenario as the Ryan/Ramsey one, ie it could have just as easily been Ryan with a broken leg but that wouldn't have made as good a story would it? ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/cj7bsBj2jOTuEAUVaPt5.gif) Its exactly the same scenario mate only Shawcross never showed his studs whereas Evans did....I dont think Holden showed his studs though? On the replay Holden seemed to go in side footed where Evans certainly came in with studs showing. I'm not saying there was any malice or intention to do Holden but it was a red card for sure.

stuholden Stuart Holden Just had a sincere phone call from Jonny Evans wishing me the best in my recovery, def wasn't intentional, just unfortunate part of the game

Well done Stuart. Professional attitude - unlike some we could mention about a year ago... ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/84w9NwSsj6YY9VWeECaY.gif)

It makes me proud that Holden reacts like this after all the sniping wenger did last season and not too long ago Ferguson was doing when Carragher made a similar challenge on nani. I bet that wanker's still wiping the tears from his eyes!

I really like Holden as a player but he seems a class act.
Coming so soon after De Jong's leg breaking tackle on him (which was very naughty from memory) his comments today are even more impressive.

Sadly it is that big a difference. Mark Davies is decent enough but he struggles when Holden is not there alongside him. Muamba just doesn't have the basic technique. Ah well there is nowt we can do about it. Hopefully we'll get a bit of luck somewhere along the line. Because we definitely deserve some!

Feel for the lad, class player, and hope a speedy recovery.
On a purely selfish note, this increases our chances of the final, but only if the Stoke from the last two games turns up.
