Many moons ago (we'd just been relegated from the old 1st Div 1977?) Stoke played a couple of pre -season friendlies in Ireland, one against Finn Harps and the other v Thurles. Me and 2 mates went over, a bit of a lst minute thing. We got to the ground for the Finn Harps game in a place called Ballybofey and we were standing outside the ground when the team pulled up.
Despite having never met TC before he came over to us when he saw my Stoke badge. We explained we had come over last minute and hadn't sorted anywhere out to stay. TC said "Don't worry lads I'll sort something for you." And he did, we ended up staying in the team hotel for the duration of our stay!!
We got so pissed on the last night with the players one of the lads lost his wallet in the hotel. TC must have found it after we left, the first game of the next season, Mansfield away, we bumped into TC as he was going into the ground. He had my mate's wallet with him on the off-chance he'd see us at the game!
Absolute top bloke TC is, a truly great player for Stoke City, a fantastic servant to the club for the past 40 plus years and one of life's gentlemen.
If there's any justice in this world TC will make a full recovery because he's one the good guys.
All the very best TC, you're a living legend!

Scotty,
We met you on the trip to Ireland, I seem to remember you'd just been signed by Stoke and were waiting to make your debut the following season.
You said you'd buy us a drink when you made your debut, we're still waiting for the drink son! lol

I remember TC when he lived in 'digs' half-way up James Street...and he would walk down The Vic for 'training'...
I've spent a lot of time in the City General myself with my daughter over the last few years so I can imagine what his family are going through
Come on TC...
We'll Be With You Every Step Along The Way

I remember it well. I played against Finn Harps if you remember ? I do owe you a drink it was 34 years ago so how about 34 drinks when Terry is better. I try tp pop in and have a beer in the Redhouse with the supporters when I come to Stoke but we can arrange something . No problem.

Never met him while he played, but had a chat with him a few times in his cupboard at the Brit - A leg-end of a player and a real nice gent.
My old man is in bits worrying about him.
Best wishes, TC.

So shocked by news when heard, TC was his usual homourous and great self in the Waddo on Saturday, just arrived back in NI. All our thoughts and prayers are with him. I've registered with this site, to ask you to keep us informed on his progress with regular updates.
Come on Terry, you were always a fighter.

Only just heard the news , so sad to hear of Terry's condition .
Prayers going out for a recovery to one of Stokes true legends .
I really hope Terry gets the chance to use his current condition , to add to his repertoire of rubbish jokes on corporate days before too long, once he's recovered.
....rubbish jokes that you can't help but laugh at though , due to his infectious nature and the love Stokies every-where have for the lovely man.
"You should never meet your heroes"it's said ...Terry is the exception to the rule !

Best wishes to Terry.
He was one of my heroes as a kid, and have been lucky enough to meet him a couple of times at the corporate suites in the Brit. I was fortunate to be in the Stanley Matthews Suite for the West Brom game, and he got the whole room involved in a game to get out on the pitch, wisecracking all the way.
He is a great MC, very quick and funny and still loves Stoke City.
I sat in front of him on one of those occasions, and he kicks every ball!
Get well soon TC.
