Definitely, said it myself as soon as i heard we had signed Carew.
Shame we hadnt have kept Tunny until the summer then we would have had cover for both in Jones and Tunny.

Where is MC? He was saying how rubbish Carew is.... He's already trying to give money to charity Gareth. Fair play to Mat, he said he would and he posted on here straight after the game.

Where is MC? He was saying how rubbish Carew is.... I think the majority of people who were criticizing Carew were just a bit pissed off because they thought Ric was leaving and he was his replacement. His goalscoring record all around Europe is pretty amazing really.

Fuller will be no more than a bit player for us now. Always grateful for what he's done for us but getting £3m in the last transfer window would have been Ric's farewell gift to Stoke.

Carew's touch and movement is excellent Carew's movement is great, I've never seen Fuller break sweat - lazy scroat walks around as if he's on a Jamaican beach. We need some on who puts a shift in not someone who plays on the odd occasion. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/cj7bsBj2jOTuEAUVaPt5.gif)

Carew is taylor made for us. A perfect fit. His main role between now and the end of the season is surely to TEACH KJ how to "punch his weight" as KJ seems totally incapable of using his physique to the teams advantage.
Fuller and Carew will be the partnership that I expected him and KJ to be. Ignoring potterglen's usual inane ramblings, I can't wait to see Ric and Carew start together.
Ric is class and Carew has been very impressive to date. They should be a real handful for any defence.

I think a Ric/Carew partnership in unison with JP and Matty could be electric.

I still think Carew and jones will form a superb partnership, with two wingers on the pitch kj and carew will both score goals, don't write jones off yet, he will come good

I'm a massive fan of Carew but to suggest that he and Ric would form the 'perfect' partnership at Stoke, might be jumping the gun just a little.
If the two did start together, then we're yet to find out, just how well he'll do when charged with performing the 'Mama' role.
I'm not saying he wont be able to pull it off but none of us yet know, just how successful he would be, playing there.
If it was certain that TP was going to play them together in a straight 4-4-2 rather than a 4-4-1-1, then yep, I'd be more than happy to nail my colours to the mast right now.

Carew's hungry. You can see that. The same / if not hungrier look that Beattie had when he came in 09. It doesn't who partners him, he's going to be a handful

I hope to fuck we can secure Carew for the long term. He has a great footy brain and as he's never relied on pace, he'll be good for a fair few seasons yet. Him and anyone will be a massive upgrade for us and he'll turn out to be one of TPs most instrumental signings. And his Mrs would get it n'all.

I really can't figure out why people think Carew is without pace!? He is actually rather quick if you believe it our not! I've seen him play more than most of you over the years and pace certainly is one of John's strengths! They also say this about Huth who in fact was the second fastest player in the German squad when he was picked! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif)

He's on a Bosman in the summer, isn't he? The only concern is that there was some talk of him wanting to go to Major League Soccer. Hopefully his appetite will be whetted to play at least another year of proper football. Shame Fuller and Carew are both 31. If only we had a time machine to take them back to 26...

"Putting a shift in" is not the main requirement of a striker tbh. I would have JC play the targetman/ widthdrawn striker role and tell KJ to sit up top, wait patiently and seize the chance when it comes. JC has all the attributes to play that role and KJ can be as "lazy" and selfish as he wants, so long as he finds the back of the net more often than not.

Carew and Fuller i cant wait ,the perfect stoke foward line, Now lets sort the cental midfield. Not so sure it's the perfect Stoke forward line, but it's far better than Carew/Jones (which TP unfortunately is obsessed by). ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/vEIFeJPtIIq1awrUd6zP.gif) Jones needs a rest now, so I'd definitely go for Carew/Fuller against B.ham. And of course, the CM must be sorted.

It has the making of the best forward line we've seen in a long time though. I was serious, I think it could be the best ever or at least since 1969 when I started watching. Carew has the best pedigree of any central striker except Hurst, and Fuller alongside is a formidable pairing. I can't think of any better at this level for us if they both play to their potential
