Stoke 5 Arsenal 0 in 1971 I'd go for that as well , who could forget T.C's 30 yard screamer into the top corner , which won Goal of the Month (may have been season?). on M.O.T.D. Best bit about this was that Match of the Day normally had Bob Wilson (Arsenal goalie) giving comments on goalkeeper performances on featured matches. He was mysteriously absent for this one and never did give any comments or apologies......sweet!!!! ;D

A few stick in my mind: Stoke 4 Watford 0: 82/83 when Watford were amongst the best in the country Stoke 7 Leeds 2: 86/87 when we thought Millsy might be building a decent side Stoke 0 Liverpool 0: 87/88, FA Cup 3rd Rd; Liverpool had only lost once (League Cup game) since the start of the season Stoke 1 Man City 0: last season. For sheer guts and determination I'm hoping the very best will be this season

Luton Town 4-4 most memorable, away wins are always good but the 1-0 at Chelsea in the cup when Pesch popped up with the winner will always be up there.

Stoke 9 Ipswitch 1 wasn't too shabby I was just a kid when we did this, I never missed a home game! Got the flu just before this game and my dad steadfastly refused to let me go! Naturally I was furious having missed a 9 goal slaughter, my mood wasn't helped when my Dad got home from the game, smiled and told me that I wouldn't have enjoyed it as it was too one sided!! ;D

Best game I saw was at home early 70s v West Ham. Memoranle for one moment, when Dennis Smith took the ball of Clyde Best's forehead! A clean hit & nobody hurt! Just another day at the office for Smith but a straight Red Card today!
Yeah and i bet the sun always shined in the early 70's, the girls had bigger tits and the beer was much stronger
No the sun never shone ;D Leeds 3 -2 was awesome God knows how many replays against Arsenal and West Ham but all great games to be at. Ill always remember Borogh at Vale ground got locked in Bycars End after the 1-0 win, cops wouldnt let us out, Nearly got crushed as I was only thin lad then of 15.(bigger now many pies later ;D)

Stoke 4 Luton 4. I dont know if anyone has mentioned this game but it was an absolute cracker. We were 2-1 up when our goalie peter fox was sent off ( I think he was the first keeper to be sent off for handling outside the box) and played for most of the game with outfield players in goal,Paul Bracewell for the remainder of the 1st half and Steve Parkin in the 2nd. Somehow we managed to battle to 4 -4 up to 90 mins when they got a pen right at the death and then they hit the post. The Boothen went bonkers it was certainly a game to remember.

Stoke 3, baggies 2.....be 93 ish. Bob Taylor scored their opener from a goal keepers miskick, Steve foley scored equaliser before half time, the Cranson scored a towering headed winner in front o the boothen end ter wrap it up. That one really sticks out for me...always nice ter beat the baggies.

Feb 1st 1947 - Stoke 5 Preston NE 0 - Syd Peppitt(2), Freddie Steele (2) and Alec Ormston. John McCue clouted Tom Finney after 10 minutes and it was all over bar the shouting!

Can't remember the score, possibly 3-1 against West Ham on the debut of the world record goalkeeper at the time Parkes, not as good as the 7-2 against Leeds or the 6-2 even but the stick Parkes got made it memorable! 4-4 with Forest was a great game., can't remember the year though. I remember Chamberlain digging out a great cross. Wish my memory was better, i've forgotten more games than I can remember.

1. The 5-0 demolition of Arsenal in the early seventies
2. The amazing 3-2 win over Leeds when coming back from 2-0 down
3. Stoke 5 West Ham 2 - Chambo was on fire that day, and what a performance
4. Beating United 2-1 at the Vic in 71-72 when Best, Charlton and co couldnt cope with us
5. Drawing with the might Ajax at the Vic in our first ever venture into Europe - not a match winning performance, but one I will always remember Yep remember all those all great performances, another one for me was beating West Ham 4-3 away after being 3-0 down at half time ...think that would be about 1968 ?
