It's taken a couple of days to get this post on, but I've finally managed it. 5 weeks ago Harvey was taken into North staffs A&E with Stomach pains, after lots of test's and surgery it was found Harvey had some tumors in his bowl. Unfortunately these tumors where very aggressive and Harvey had a massive fight on his hands. On Wednesday Harvey lost his fight. At only 38 years old he leaves behind Ruth his wife and Sam his 4 year old son. Many people on here will Know Harvey, the miner from Hem Heath. The salesman from BSS, The pool player who captained Staffordshire. It is easy to talk about people we have lost to be very kind and nice but Harvey is very special. I and many others will remember him as the finest man to walk this planet. I can't imagine for the life of me that there is any one who would have a bad word to say against him. I could write forever about the good times we've had together, the laughs, the nights out, the times. The only thing I can say is that I love the guy and would do anything to bring him back. Unfortunately this Friday our time together on this planet will have to come to an end. Anyone that knew Harvey is invited to Penkhull church to celebrate his life. we will not mourn, we will celebrate a great person, one of the best. The celebration starts at 12 o'clock in the Marquis of Granby and will run all day and night. Farewell my friend, you will remain in my heart and mind forever. My only regret is that our time together has been cut so short. Harvey william Jones 1969-2008

I never met Harvey, but I can only assume he was all that Mark says he was because my son, (who isn't Mark), doesn't give his loyalty easily, yet considered Harvey as a very good friend.
My thoughts and prayers to his family.

RIP Harvey. And what a fantastic funeral notice in the Sentinel tonight, I know that's an odd thing to say but it was truly heartwarming. All the very best to such a loving family and such good friends left behind xx
