The Aussies won the toss and will bat first. Thanks Pup, looks a good pitch to bowl, unless everyone is reading the pitch wrong
Haddin moved up 6 with Smith at 7.

Hughes leaving the ball a bit better but still can't seem to resist now and then having a flirt outside off. Good decision to bring Brez on, come on Brezzy!!!

Shit start from Bresnan. You can't bowl short to Hughes, he'll smash those all day. Pitch looks pretty flat now

Aussies seem to have a gameplan today, someone should have told them how to do this earlier in the series!

YES TWIGGY!!!!!!!! Good bowling, great time for a wicket. Awful shot but deserved wicket for Twiggy. 55-1 at Lunch, not a bad session

Would have loved to have seen Khawaja come out before lunch for a short time but can't complain. That wicket has probably swung the session in our favour

Would have loved to have seen Khawaja come out before lunch for a short time but can't complain. That wicket has probably swung the session in our favour Can see what you mean but I bet Khawaja was, naturally, very nervous already and the fact that they lost a wicket on Lunch and he has to wait 40 mins to face his first ball, will only make him even more nervous unless he's the calmest, coolest guy on the planet of course. Either way I think Phillip Hughes could do with sitting as far away from Khawaja as possible at Lunch. I'd certainly be pissed off with him, awful shot to play on the verge of Lunch, after working so hard before that.

Khawaja has started very positively - I would advise our bowlers not to bowl short at him too much as he is very strong on the cut and pull shots

Too many "hit me" balls bowled at Khawaja so far. Come on England, fullish and just outside off to this lad Jimmy bowled pretty poorly so far today Don't know whether he's struggling with an injury, looks a little off colour

Jimmy's had an official warning for running on the danger area, that's been coming since the start

Groundhog Day for Rat Boy, gets in and gets out, good delivery from Brez not the best shot though.

Swanny in his first over again. Nice bowling, inexperience showed there but well played to the debutant. 134-4. Rain stopped play.

Khawaja had played well until then but clearly didn't like the thought of getting tied down by Swann

Raining hard at the SCG now and there's, apparently, another band of rain set to hit the ground shortly, according to Cricinfo

Stumps, 134-4, good day for England, bowled pretty well by and large. Good stuff lads

Quite impressed by Khawaja in his first test, looks quite solid and has some good shots
Another disciplined effort by our lads, almost three quarters of the way to a new ball and only 134 on the board - good stuff
What a woeful series Clarke has had with the bat - him and Colly havent got as many runs between them as Cook did in one knock
Got a half decent bet on 2-2 before the series, and have covered England at 6-4 to win this one, but it seems the rain may put paid to both bets, but at least we will win the series if it is a draw
Could be worse, they could be in Queensland

Aussies well on top now. Johnson has got his mojo back, I feel a 10 for coming. England have cocked this right up!!!!!! Strauss' negative captaincy has cost us dear here.
