Walters isnt a pile of want crap etc. He is actually a decent champs player which he has proven over a number of years. OK its champ football...but shit that is still a decent level. The manager is a sucker for a hard working trier who plays according to instructions and is no trouble. These are decent attributes and a mirror image of the type of player the manager was. Tried hard gives 100% but is not quite good enough. Its a bit of a mystery why the manager has had such a hard on for Walters for a number of seasons. No prem club were prepared to pay enough to prize him away. In his defence he can play in 2 positions. But as someone said earlier he isn't as good as Lawrence out wide and certainly nowhere nearBeattie or Kistosn upfront. He is within our current squad an asset...but I would have preferred a happy Kitson and Liam Lawrence in place. Got this one wrong TP...accept it and move on instead of trying to justify his decisions about a player which is to the detriment of the team. We have better players....play them ffs!!!! I have to confess that I was one of the people who was very pro the signing of Walters at the time but it's very hard to argue with any of the above on refelection.

Nowhere near as bad as some are making out. He's having a rough time at the mo,not unlike a few others, and its magnified when 2 of our best players have to sit on the bench.Fuller and Penant both have to start tomorrow.

He needs dropping, to start him over Pennant was a mind numbingly poor decision if you ask me, and him and Jones is not a Strike partnership I ever want to see again.
I really feel sorry for him, in this league Walters is out of his depth, he is a solid Championship Attacking player, but nowhere near good enough for the premier league (I really hope I am forced to eat my words).
And I am sick of reading "he gives 110%" when his 110% isn't good enough (which it clearly isn't, his performance against Sunderland shows this) get him off the pitch! We should have Ethers, Pennant, Jones (RESERVED STRIKER ROLE) and Fuller/Tunny in the main striker role!
Walters should be a sub, then he would come good for us!

'Walters should be a sub, then he would come good for us!'
What does that mean exactly Ollie. That he'll come off the bench and win us games or get his confidence back by being dropped? He's been knocking around for years (Pulis has been after him for the last three seasons!) and no-one else in the Prem wanted him. He's beyond ordinary. I'd rather have taken a punt on Jay Bothroyd but seeing as we let him go when we had him on loan, TP obviously knows best. We now have arguably the worst midfield in the Prem but a potential attacking front four that's as good as half those in the division. Perform the necessary and long-needed surgery at full back and draft in a couple of decent midfielders in Jan and we might improve, but our Glorious Leader finds it hard to swallow his pride so expect more of the same. What worries me most of all is that there doesn't seem to be a really poor team this time around.....so far anyway. 3 points tomorrow night suddenly become a necessity.

Was pro-walter. No longer. The lad couldn't dribble around a peanut.
He was woeful last game, although in his defence so was most of the team.
He wouldn't make my starting 11 although i rate him above a number of other players at the club.

Walters should be the 60th minute sub imo, after we have put on an attacking side from the start, grabbed a few goals then use him to do the holding up and holding a win !!

Im basically saying keep him off the pitch. Due to there being better fit players available.
