He's massively out of his depth, just as anybody with half a brain knew he would be. See also: Whitehead, Dean. Add in the fact we binned of a vastly superior player in Lawrence to accomodate him, and the best part of £3M we'll never get back and it's enough to make you weep all the way to the Championship.

The truth is that Walters is a decent championship player and an average Premier league squad player.
The questions I would raise are that is he any better in the strikers role than Kitson, Beattie or Mama. My answer would be no.
Is he any beter out wide on the right than Liam Lawrence? Again I'd say no.
He certainly shouldn't be starting ahead of Pennant, Tuncay, Fuller or Wilson and thats the truth of it.
Can he still come good?
I fuckin hope so but I don't think we should continue to carry the risk in trying to find out

Its one of my awful 'told you so's' (and Ive got plenty wrong I can assure you) BUT
I saw him numerous times play for Ipswich as I live in East Anglia and have Ipswich supporting mates.
There was a rediculous 'rumour' going round that he had / has a bit of pace and ability - I can vouch for the fact that he was nothing special in the Championship. Pulis also bought him two seasons too late - IE MAYBE and adequate purchase for our first season in the Prem.
Massive retrograde step, huge waste of £3million pounds and worse than Liam Lawrence - And we wonder why we are 4th from bottom !

Far be it from me to spoil the fun of a good witch hunt but...
Yes he can - he showed enough in his debut, in the game against Blackburn, and in the Chelsea and Blackburn games to suggest he's not a lost cause. He's shown that he is capable of linking the play and has a decent touch, and that he can get into goal scoring positions. His winner against Blackburn was a clash finish.
He's been awful in more games than he's been good, no question - and yesterday was perhaps the worst individual Stoke performance of the season.
Players CAN improve though, but he needs to be dropped, and he needs to get his head down and put the hours in to bring himself up to a consistently good standard.

As I've said since August-he is no better than Liam Lawrence on the right.
He is nowhere near as good as Beattie/Kitson or even Mama for that fact up front.
If he starts ahead of Pennant/Tuncay/Fuller on Tuesday than I'll be a liitle pissed off shall we say

yeah he's had about 3 good games but when he's poor he's dogshit, against blackburn he was good too and scored but i hope he gets dropped soon He was awful from the start. Different does not equal good. You talk crap my friend, oh cresswell has gone now for walters gets the boo boy treatment! Walters was very good when he 1st came , got us 3pts against blackburn,plus a good goal in the cup,+ some favourable performances since,yes he's been below par in last 2/3 matches and prob deserves a spell on the bench but to slag the bloke off like you so called fans are doing is a bloody disgrace!! |

Etherington was the man of the game against Blackburn-not Walters. Walters scored a good goal-well taken.
Anybody who thinks that he should be in the starting 11 ahead of Pennant, Tuncay or Fuller needs sectioning under the 'I'm A Stoke fan and I won't have a bad word said against them at any time certified by Richard Creswell' act 2008.

Give me lazy sods over hard workers any day. Obviously You need the balance of the two but it's a poor justification for a player. He is the new Cresswell You're right, neither are good enough for this league. Walters is better than Cressers though. |

Kewyne might be lazy but he'll finish this season as our top scorer. He will score goals as he did yesterday albeit for a terrible decision.
Walters will never be a threat to Premier league defences whether that be out wide or up front.

First couple of games he was ok but he has been absolutely awful since.
Another classic case of the stubborn side of Pulis who will continue to play him regardless, he is a smashing kiddie who works hard. Im afraid this attitude in this league this particular year, it may well be his downfall.

I doubt it. Looks like he lacks both creativity and pace. One of these qualities - ideally a combination of them - are required in the Prem. Very disappointing performances so far.... Definitely bench material against Birmingham, Liverpool etc...etc... |

I'm not writing him off but my opinion is that he shouldn't be even in our thoughts. He should be on th ebench challenging for a place behind three strikers and one right winger. |
