Problem is that in away games such as this weekends refs are looking for any excuse to send one of our players off and sadly Wilko is likely to give it to them. Slightly less of an issue at home.

Should have been a red, he was miles late. Lucky that Halsey was ref.

Its GOT to be Wilko! Remember when Pulis played Shawcross at RB vs Blackburn away? CB is so much different to RB and Wilko is a much better player there than Huth. Hes faster, offers slightly more going forward (obviously not set-pieces) and generally just out-performs him.
Yeah he does rash challenges but Bunny made a very valid point further up. As good as Bale is as far as Im concerned Wilko would not have let him run the show in the way that he did. Whether he did it by injurying Bale is a different matter ;D

Yeah I would describe horrific. Haven't seen a replay since the initial incident but it was very late and stupid

Only seen it the once (and from the Boothen to be fair) but it looked like a tackle that I'd have been screaming at him for backing out of. It was a poor touch from the Fulham player and Wilko cleaned up. I'll have to see it again before deciding how bad it was.
One thing I would say is that if Halsey had of given the penalty he should have done moments earlier the situation wouldn't have arisen.
Do we know how the player is? He looked in pain but he was waving his injured leg around which suggests it hopefully isn't too bad.
By the way, what a twat Danny Murphy is.

Agree with all of that Jamo, word for word, except I was in the JS. For now, 'horrific' really does seem like a silly word to use.

Is 'horrific' really the most accurate word to describe this challenge? Hyper.... hang on. Is 'horiff..... Sorry!

Halsey couldn't really give the pen cos Wilko stayed on his feet!

Had it been a league match and not the 93 rd minute he would have gone. No need for the tackle. Like Wilko but it's this part of his game that let's him down.

The main reason he won't start many games. Suspect temperament, he's a liability rubbish, he's trying to impress his manager with his commitment to the cause, the guy wants to play football for his club. besides, huth slapping people in the face is not a liability ??? huth a CB at RB is not a liability? ??? Wilko is over eager to impress his manager, his only crime. we didnt conceed.

Halsey couldn't really give the pen cos Wilko stayed on his feet! That's a ridiculous reason for not giving a penalty. If a player gets kicked, it's a foul whether they fall over or not.

Halsey couldn't really give the pen cos Wilko stayed on his feet! He could as the challenge made Wilko stumble. It was a clear penalty but we don't get them for trying to stay on our feet. It's a load of shite that trying to be 'right' costs us.

I didn't think it was a horrific tackle at all. Haven't seen a replay, but at the time it looked like Wilko went for the ball first and Dembele ran into him.

I called this tackle 5 mins before it happened!
Dembele made the mistake of squaring up to Wilko while getting up of the floor. I said to my mate, watch them pair, Wilko will have him.
Sure enough his opportunity came and he took it. What about Mark Hughes' histrionics?
Surely he never did that sort of thing?
Wilko is building a reputation as a no nonsense full back (Stuart Pearce) and if he can add a little finesse to his game then he will make a first 11 Prem player. It took me back to the days of the homegrown back four.
Wilko's bark isn't worse than his bite!

HANG ON HANG ON!?!?!!! Horrific?!?!!!? What are you talking about!?!? It was a slightly late tackle for the ball, completely legitimate. The only reason anyone would go on about this is because he stayed down rolling around like he was being tortured.
Robert Huth does FAR worse than this two or three times a match!!! Anyone saying Huth is better than Wilko at this position is completely mad

Thought he looked every inch a player tonight. He's getting better on the ball and we all know he loves a tackle. I hope the Fulham lad isn't injured as it would overshadow his performance.

It was VERY late, in the context of the match, 92minute, 2-0 up and the player not really going anywhere it was stupid. The player looked in a lot of pain.
We have Wenger slagging us off in the media and things like this happen. Not going to help is it?

I was in the Family Stand tonight, so it was right in front of me.
"Horrific" it wasn't. VERY late, but there didn't seem to be much venom in it.
Hope the lads ok. Have to say that the way he was writhing around looked like amateur dramatics initially, but obviously it was worse than it looked.

"Horrific"
"He's a liability"
"That's the reason he shouldn't play"
What a bunch of hysterical big girls some of you are. It was a late tackle, but that's football...if you're going in with the commitment that Wilko does, you'll get one or two wrong sometimes....it's worth it for the number of times he goes crunching in and comes out with the ball.
What you should be commenting on is how Wilkinson knows where a right back should be positioned, how he has the ability to overlap now and again, and how he very rarely lets anyone get past him.
A far better right back than Huth, who incidentally, and unsuprisingly, had a great game at centre half tonight.
