shame you could hear a pin drop in it. atmosphere was dead, with 7 games go and top of the league that place should be rocking, when the team are struggling, we can be that 12th man, pisses me off at half time everyone rushes to the concourse for a sing song! get behind them in the ground ffs!

correct
me and a couple of other were trying to get songs started but nobody seems to want to know
really annoys me how people sit in the boothen but only sing/chant when we have scored or are having a lot of possesion in the final 3rd

If we had made half as much noise as we made at Watford we might have given the team that little lift that was needed, it was like a morgue at times, for a gate of over 20,000 it was poor. Good picture by the way.

The problem with The Boothen is season-ticket holders, who are more passionate about their seats and who sits next to them, than the result of the match . I am not lucky enough to have a job where I get every saturday off, but when I do I watch Stoke home and away. Today when me and my daughter accidentally sat in two season-ticket holders seats all-hell-broke-loose. On either side of us these wankers sat, making snide remarks at the players all through the game, and when we tried to roar the team on they looked at us as though we were insane.
Until the Boothen has unreserved seating this will continue.

maybe we should split the away end like West Brom do permanently then if thats what people are like, and people who like to sing all move to the South Stand, which would also increase the atmosphere with them being so close to the away fans

I was in the seddon stand and thought the boothen end was way too quiet. There was not really anything happening on the pitch for the fans to get excited about though really. Tried to get behind them but it was so frustrating.

Thats my point cliffo, block 19 always give it some because the seating their is unreserved. Compare that to block 21 and 22 where season-ticket holders moan when you stand-up in row 35!! Unbelievable "Watch what you're doing, you'll knock my flask over..." Theres a big block of these people who wear velcro trousers and are stuck to their seats unable to move until 15 minutes before the end when they all leave.
And one more rant, why yesterday, when the kick-off was delayed by 30 minutes, could they not get into their seats by kick-off?
What is so fantastic about that concourse that attracts people to it????

wizzardofdribble- the fantastic thing about the concourse is the singing!!! it seems to be people find their voices at half time! then lose them again when they go back to their seats. amazing eh?

Stoke have no choir at home, away great atmosphere. We should fill the corners and give one of them to away fans (ala Leicester) and make the Signal stand unreserved for singers (pity about name tho) Flasks etc are brought along due to fckin hideous prices!!Velcro trousers belong to fans that have supported SCFC thro thick and thin and deserve praise, not these 'glory hunting' fans that appear when the time is right.ST holders do not have to rush to their seats as they know it's THEIRS. The concourse singers feel louder and less embarrassed singing in an echoing chamber.

great picture again robin, i was sat block 19 and apart from the odd few songs block 19 started and the odd tony pulis barmy army, it was silent for most of the game.
at this stage of the season with 6 games to go we are top and had a crowd of over 20,000 you would expect peopel to start make some noise and getting behide the lads, and giving them a much needed boast these last couple of home games.

20,000 it sounded more like 2000! We are top of the league with 6 games to go, to any neutral the atmosphere would have fit in well down the road at the Vale or Derby (teams that are down!)

I know maybe if we raised the roof at the britannia for the lads we are for certain to win all our next home games

We raised the roof Vs Ipswich and we won. We raised it against Brazil earlier in the season and we won. Maybe it is the fan's mindset, they only turn their voices on for the '6 pointers.'

it is because we are expecting to beat teams like blackpool and the atmosphere is flat from the start the team never performs in games like that instead they fall a goal behind and the atmosphere gets worse

Thanks for the pic, fella.
The reason The Boothen was quiet yesterday was because the team were shite. A few games ago, the same Boothen was rocking. Work it out.

Thing is Armitage I have been watching Stoke for over 30 years and I had a season ticket for years for The Butler Street Stand, but over the last 10 years my work (and child-care) has meant I have too work some saturdays.
Just because you're not a member of the "Season-ticket-Club" doesn't mean you're a second-class Stoke fan.
Nobody can deny that season ticket holders arrive late, faff about with their flasks and tartan blankets for 15 minutes, slag Mama off, go for a piss before half-time, get back in their seats late, then leave 10 minutes before the end.
One of them was moaning on Saturday because we were singing "Where thefuck d'yer think you are?"..this old bloke said.
Is it any wonder that the atrmosphere is like a wake?
Are they all on ketamine or what?

I am a season ticket holder in Block 21. I am fed up of these young whippersnappers who spend all the game moaning about the old gits moaning. ;D I have never brought a tartan rug or flask to a match, I don't go for a piss 10 minutes before half-time (I don't smoke ), I stay in my seat until the final whistle every game. It appears that I am not pulling my weight as a grumpy old git,so it seems like I need to start leaving the incontinence pants at home so that I can do my share of irritating the young.
