Anyone else attending and raising money at this event in October? www.memorywalk.org.uk/site/custom_scripts/memorywalk.php?memorywalkID=104I know its a charity thats close to all Stoke City fans hearts for obvious reasons. Me and the missus shall be there. My missus's gran is currently suffering from Alzheimers and my own grandad passed away aged just 66 back in 1989 while suffering from it. Lets get as many Stokies as we can down Westport Lake on 17th October

You have also not mentioned that Gordon Banks will be doing the walk. I struggle to walk up the street but knowing the affect this illness has had on Gordon's brother I will be there and aim to raise over £100 for the charity.
If you would like to sponsor me then please send a pm with anything! 50p would be great.

Brilliant, so glad this is happening and pinned, we've been trying to get the right Alzheimers fundraiser to support on the Oatie. Be great if we can get our own Oatie group of walkers with a banner or something maybe? If fit I mean to do this one too

So... how about getting an Oatie group together? So.... that one went down like a lead balloon didn't it? We're getting nearer the time, how many of us are likely to be turning out and does anyone need a hand with their fundraising??

Just thought I'd post this about Alzheimers.....life can be cruel. Big Jack and Sir Alf Be kind to people on the way....life is short. Reminds me of Cat Stevens" You only dance on this earth a short while" /?sfnsn=scwspmo From the link....... " My auntie was in a care home in Ipswich, my uncle visited daily, there was a very quite man in the home who used to sit the corner, my uncle struck up a friendship with him, he used to play chess and draughts with him every day whilst visiting my auntie, after a couple of months of this the guy turned out to be sir Alf Ramsey, he barely got any visitors, when he died everyone came out the woodwork. Very sad!! "
