Think it`ll be very tough, not as easy as ya think, looks an easy one on paper, but no easy games at this stage of the season. Most teams have got something to fight for, either playoffs or steer clear of relegation. I`ll be happy with a 1-0 off the refs arse ;D ;D

If history has taught us anything, probably not!!
Would really love a nice comfortable 3-0 win though. These tight games are playing havoc with my nerves!

Without Lawrence and Fuller it's gonna be tough. They've got that winger Hoolahan, who's pace could cause us all sorts of trouble. Hopefully we'll nick a one nil win.

No easy games at this point in a season unless you are mid table. I'm not worried about the absence of Fuller (the rest and the chance to recharge his batteries will do him good) and Cort and Riggot looks to be a decent pairing in Ryan's absence. The loss of Lawro does worry me though - we look half the team without him - Gally on the right wing perhaps?
EDIT - my team would be:
Nash
Wilko, Cort, Riggott, Griff
Gally, Delap, Whelan, Bothroyd
Mama, Cressy
I've put Wilko at right back as he coped well with Hoolahan at Blackpool

Wilko Cort Riggo Griff
Delap Whelan Pugh Gally
Mama Bothroyd
- Can't see Gally playing on the right with Hoolahan operating down their left.

Bpaa...good shout. That would be my team too. No games are going to be easy from now on in. It really is shittingbricks time.I don't mind. I rather have that than mid-table mediocrity. Mind you, I don't want the play-offs. Gooooaaarrrrnnn Stoke! OS.

Since when has there ever been an easy game for Stoke?! a seemingly odds on home win is never the case with us now is it?!. Blackpool will bring it to the Brit. No team ever takes it lightly with us and we need to shut out Hoolahan and Dickov. Without Lenny our main creative threat is absent, however, I still think we will nick this, but not as convincingly as some might suggest. I reckon it will be 2-1. Bothroyd and Gally to score. If we have real hopes of going up automatically this is a game we simply HAVE to win. A draw just won't do, but I'm sure the lads and Tone know that. Is Mama back from injury now?.
TEAM for Saturday:
Nash Griff (c) Cort Riggy Dicko
Delap Whelan Pugh/Diao Gally
Cressy Bothroyd
Subs: Simmo Wilko Buxton Pugh/Diao Beast
GOARRRNNNN STOKE!!

Bpaa - good point about Gally v Hoolahan. I still think Cressy will start though as he does seem to get goals when played up front with Mama.

As I said on the 4 game mini season post "I wouldn't say that Blackpool have got nothing to play for. If Barnsley, Coventry & Sheff Wed win their games in hand, Blackpool will not be out of the third team to be relegated. I know they are on 48 points, but it could be quite a high points total this season for the third team to go down" So this weekends game against them will not be easy.

It should be, but we havea knack of making life hard for ourselves, like scunny for example. and it could be difficult without Lawrence and Fuller, plus Blackpool aren't safe yet so they will be trying to make sure of that. My optomistic prediction would be 2 or 3 nil, but could well be a hard fought, ground out 1-0 or 2-1
GOAARRN STOKE!!!

I remember that defeat, I think it was 92-3 0-1 in the last two minutes by a certain Trevor Sinclair who was probably 37 then! We also got beat by Hartlepool at home 0-1 that season and Stein missed a pen and their keeper had the game of his life. Lenny Johnrose scored and he must have been 59 too. Bloody Pools!

going to be very tough without both Lawrence and Fuller, I'd take a scrappy 1-0 with a last minute own goal

These are games as fans we expect to win but are often disappointed. We seem to do better in the games that look tougher on paper. I fear another home draw therefore I will take an ugly 1-0 Stoke win.

Very easy. All we'll have to do is turn up to gain 3 pts. Lets hope the players don't have the same attitude as me though.....

'We also got beat by Hartlepool at home 0-1 that season and Stein missed a pen and their keeper had the game of his life'
Was Martin Hodge if I remember rightly- everything stuck to him that day. Speaking of Blackpool-what an unbelievable performance by Steve Banks in their 3-1 win at the Brit. We made so many chances and got caught with a sucker punch by Martin Aldridge I think it was
No game is easy- will take the points any way possible.

Blackpool have turned out a couple of decent results recently, we seem to have hit the wall, but as Stoke always manage to do, other teams' results help us out when we are struggling...

they have some useful players, like hoolahan but i still think they are playing slightly outof their depth and will be still involved in a battle at the end of the season. as long as we are on our game then we'll still be top on saturday evening!

Didn't Blackpool put 5 past Charlton recently? I fully expect the seasiders to come at us for the first 20 mins and take the game to us, hopeing to quiten the crowd down and get in front knowing that at present we don't excatly look like a side that can score.

eriksson, very good point, i fully expect them to take it to us, Stoke should return the favor, playing at home dont give them the oppotunity

Another tough game, and they have found a bit of form and confidence. Early goal would be good. Think Delap will play right mid to help out with Hoolahan who has been getting good reviews this season. And Dickov is a pain in the arse. The kind who earns a stack of abuse from the Boothen, but also a degree of grudging respect. Clever player.
I have a feeling Mama will play, and Gally will be used from the bench. He just doesn't seem to be a Pulis type player.
Nash
Griff (c) Cort Riggott Pugh
Delap Dioa Whelan Cressie
Mama Bothroyd
Subs: Simmo Wilko Gally Dicko Beast
This minimises the impact of having to change too much, and think Tone will play Pughy at home for his running, crossing and he might get the set pieces, and he always thinks Cressie might pinch a goal. He has the option swapping Gally, Cressie and Jay Bothroyd around during the game.
Still take Stoke to win, hopefully 2-0, without playing all that well.
