Micky Adams could well be off to Leicester to replace him.

taught Hull were in the shit financially, seems the only reason to leave Leicster for Hull would be money

Sound! Are Leicester more financially screwed than Hull? Seems a very sideways move otherwise imo.

As far as I'm aware Leicester aren't too bad. I can only assume that parachute payments are helping Hull big style, otherwise there would be no point in Pearson jumping ship.
Of course, Nigel was assistant to Gary Megson and Gudjon for a couple of years.

Good appointment, Billy.
Bit of a coup, all things considered. How's it going down with the Tiger nation?
Bit of a surprise move looking from the outside though. It's either a massive salary bump , an unexpectedly big transfer kitty at Hull, or problems behind the scenes in Planet Mandaric?

Yep Leicester are a long way from being financially sound. Pearson also fell out with Mandaric

It could be the reason he's jumped shipped as he may know what's coming.

At least if they do badly and shout Pearson out, the Chairman and manager will both listen now...

Think Pearson's family are all Sheffield. Nearer to Hull but Leicester is straight down the M1. Looks like the real reasons are pretty self-evident from the above posts. I posted last week that Pearson has done an excellent job at Leicester and he has a solid coaching/assistant manager background. He'll do a good job at Hull IMO.

Can't be much more than 5 or 10 miles in it as to which is closer to Sheffield.

It's either a massive salary bump , an unexpectedly big transfer kitty at Hull, or problems behind the scenes in Planet Mandaric? It looked as if Tony Mowbray had the job in the bag.. but it come out last week that Nigel Pearson had issues at Leicester and we've jumped in..
I'm happy with Nigel Pearson.. he done well at Filbert Street and is well regarded, the more I hear about the fella, the more I like..
Reading the Leicester boards, they are properly hacked-off which is always a good sign.. TBH its nice to get the saga over and done with, we've had nowt but negative press for a while now.. its nice to get some positive news, instead of the habitual kick-on-the-cock..
I agree, it does seem a bit of a strange/sideways move.. obviously Milan Mandric is a bit of a cunt.. LCFC dont run a reserve team and were about to make more cuts to the playing budget.. but fuck 'em that's their problem..
I'd piss myself they appointed Ian Dowie..

What's the financial state at Hull Billy? I know You need to trim the wage budget but what sort of debt are You in?
Good appointment though in Pearson, he should do well.

Apparently our £38million wages fell to £21million after the relegation clauses kicked in. With Moyokoulo, Hunt & Marney leaving I believe we reduced it by £4million more (+ £7.5million in tranfer fees). Once Bullard & Geovanni are gone we should be around £13.8million and have room to bring in a few players.
The new manager was paid for purely by the owner as he recognised the importance of the right man in charge - so that's all out his pocket. Rumour also has it that a local businessman is to invest some (not sure how much!) money into the club.
Things looking up.

What's the financial state at Hull Billy? I know You need to trim the wage budget but what sort of debt are You in? Good appointment though in Pearson, he should do well. The sale of Mouoykolo/Hunt/Marney has taken care of the HMRC PAYE debt.. we still owe cash to Fulham (Bullard) Spurs (Gardner) Reading (Hunt) and dare I say Stoke (Olofinjana).. we tended to pay big wages, rather than big transfer fees.. the players have always been paid on time, so I'd say our largest creditor would be Paul Duffen's champagne and cigar suppliers..
