Nice , but not that exciting.
If it helps the Vale and the City then it can only be a good thing.
Its better spent here than in Oldham.

“PORT Vale are in talks with New York-based businessman Mike Newton who is bidding to invest a "six-figure" cash sum into the club.”

No one will make any substantial investment into the 'poor relations' of a football club in a small provincial city like Stoke-on-Trent that already has one Premiership football club. It could never make financial sense.
Maybe the guy will invest enough to win a seat on the board, but dozens of these sort of 'interested in Port Vale' guys have come and gone in the last few years and we've no reason to believe that Mr. Newton will be any different . . . . . and I give you one, Mr. R. Williams as such an example.

I wouldn't work with the clowns that run Vale if You paid me. Run away New York businessman, run away. Clowns being the right word to describe them. They're at each others throats, they were even bickering about one another on OVF. ;D Jokes the lot of 'em.

no where,
just from a personal point of view as I can't post on that site any more.
well, not if i value my job which i do.
My CEO had an anonymous email sent to him saying I posting on OVF and that if I didn't stop they would make life very difficult by posting all kinds of things about us both and the company.
Clearly, someone didn't appreciate my slagging of the V2001 directors and their massive club in general.

Sounds like the musings of Glenda Oliver, failing that it could be a number of them as they see OVF as enemy number one and not them useless selves! ;D Good God that man(Oliver) has a high opinion of himself. He doesn't post on there anymore sadly. It was always fun seeing the Vale's dirty washing being aired in public! ;D

What happened to the Yank they dreamed up a while back who apparently had wet dreams about spitfires and was prepared to invest £zillions into the Vale when he discovered they came from Wales Stoke on Trent?
He must have moved on when he realised they had more in common with a lead Zeppelin than a spitfire.

Lead zeppelin. That'd be a good name for a band.

How long has the "Harlequin are going to invest £500K" story been going on? And I thought our transfer team was slow!

What happened to that so called investment from Harlequin Properties into the Vale? I'm sure they would have had some real good plans for the future of Port Vale with their increased shareholding of the club.

A properly conceived, disciplined transfer and contract negotiation policy being operated at Vale (e.g. like is done at Crewe) would go a long way to solving a large proportion of their financial woes. Bill Bratt nice fellow that he is can only do so much.

Since when did Port Vile have ANYTHING to do with football? They are not even on our long range radar.
