I've got to admit it was a bizzare feeling on Saturday, walking out of the ground being completely titsed off at such an abject and depressing performance, yet being top of the league.
I was hoping that Pulis had learnt the lessons of last season and up until the last few games I was inclined to think that he had. However Saturdays set up and inability to get anything out of the players or increase the tempo in any way leads me to think that Pulis shat himself.
Yes a point is a point and I would have taken it before the game, however to not even attempt to win the game and rely on lady luck and stoic defending is a gamble that will fail more than be successful. If the cautious approach is to continue then I fear the worst, whilst the run in on paper looks easy, we have the likes of Coventry, Sheff Wed and Leicester all fighting for their lives and perhaps Colchester, whilst Bristol are scrapping with us at the top, and Blackpool will come and hit us hard for the first 20 to quieten things down and get players and fans nervous.
Fingers, you are entitled to your opinion but what a complete load of bull, Saturday hurt and cost me a right bollocking from the Mrs, which will only be worth the hassle for the remainder of the season if we go up (and then it will be a battle for next season)
Vestenpance got it right when he said it was a confident thing, we need to be confident, we are top and need to play with the confidence and swagger of a top team, mistakes will happen and we need to be patient. As for being tired then yes we do look a little jaded but that is due to the small squad and Tony's stuboness to rest players when he can as opposed to travelling 2 and a half hours and having a cosy night in a hotel!!
If the confidence can be installed to the players from the manager than I think we will be alright.

we were poor saturday - in case anyone hasnt realised that yet -
BUT as far as I can see from half time tactilly TP DID go for it: by taking a CB off & replacing a defensive fullback with a more creative one & by throwing Gally on (at half time, unprecdented for TP)
Can someone please tell me what changes TP could have made @ half time in that game other than the ones he did?
the fact that these changes still resulted in no chances made cab be put down to other factors: i.e. Stoke are knackered & Watford (remember them they were playing too!) played very effectivly. According to many Watford fans it was the best they have played for ages.
play badly & get a point away @ Watford (even with 10 men),sorry but thats a good point.
SCFC desperatly need a good performance ASAP but lets keep things in perspective can we?

... lets keep things in perspective can we? I would suggest that is extremely unlikely. I'd wish for a 19-0 score line on Satdee instead, if I were you. ah

Top post lordb . IMO TP got his tactics right . He went there set up to get a point and maybe nick all three . We were away to a very good side and a promotion rival so this was good thinking by TP . After the interval he intoduced Gally for Cort and then Pugh for Dickinson to attack Watford's 10 men . The fact that the players didn't perform on this occasion is down to the players . Obviously it was frustrating for us at times but at the end of the day I think we can be pleased with takiing a point off our rivals which now set's us up for a winnable home game on saturday . It is slightly worrying that we haven't been playing particularly well recently but it look's as though the whole top four is getting a little jittery . Now stop moaning Smudge

Don't forget that, he then brought Diao on for Jay so we wonly really "went for it" for a 5 min spell. Also when Gallagher came on at half time whilst we went 4 at the back we still went 5 in midfield and we still sat back and conceeded possession to Watford.

Speaks Lou's toilet paper he licked his arse so much
Oh yes- he shone when the going got tough
How easily some forget and still try to act intellectual
Pathetic
