I see, so being concerned about Pulis putting out a team which on paper could look so much better is being a doom and gloom merchant is it? Is it bollox.

A brave, and correct, move to drop ('rest') Fuller.
Would be nice if the same happened to Diao, and Pugh played central with Gally on the wing.
Interesting to see how this pans out!
Go on Stoke!

We dont know what Pulis has seen of Ricci in trainingor after the games etc. There is no doubt that he will come on tonight, fresh, when their defenders are knackered. Lets hope he has the same impact as he did at Wolves when he came off the bench.

can't believe Pulis has persevered with Diao and left Gally on the bench. It will be like playing with a handicap of ten men! Surely the better option would be Pugh defensive midfield, and Gally wide left. Three points is critical tonight and we need the more attacking line-up. Should also swap Griffin for Wilko

Its a strange line up. Dropping Fuller, ok, he aint been at his best of late. Why he insists on Diao is beyond me. Surely Pugh in the middle with Gally out wide would be the logical choice, but what do i know?

Don't think he'd miss Watford anyway due to that 7-day rule. I can only guess he thinks he's extremely jaded as he's Fuller's number one fan and thinks he's as God-like as any of his biggest fans? I can kind of see the logic in it if that's true, giving the chance of an electric half hour later in the game. But I really am struggling to see the logic in Gallagher's continued absence - particularly when the incomparable Fuller's not playing.

This team is set up to avoid defeat not to go out and win the game. It certainly seems that way doesn't it? It looks like TP is attempting to revert to type - that is, nick a goal and defend like there's no tomorrow. And if it's not going to plan, throw Fuller and Gally on to change it. I'm just not convinced on this tactic to be honest, but I'll trust TP (I think!) - but with some serious trepidation. Although it certainly seems like Pugh LM, Diao and Delap CM and Lawrence RM - what about Diao and Pugh CM and then Lawrence LM and Delap RM? (Can't see this happening myself, but I never really saw this starting line-up coming either - so wtf do I know?)

No probs with Ricci given his form and the cards situation but it looks crazy playing Mama and Salif from the start and leaving Gally on the bench. Just hope Tone knows something we don't.

no quarms with the selection, APART from that fucker diao, why is he in the team, he passes and then just stands still??
It must be a case of "we have no one else"
But is it?

If I was a Norwich defender and had been playing for 60 minutes in a hard game, I wouldn't fancy the prospect of Fuller coming off the bench for the last 30 minutes. He could run their defence ragged. It worked against Wolves. Have to say that I would rather have had Gallagher in the starting line-up but that is obviously a little too cavalier.

To be fair, Delap looked off the pace for sometime, I just hope that this persistence with Diao will reap benefits as it has done with Delap. Not long to go for Diao to pull his finger out though....

It's a curoius decision to say the least. I'm guessing it's a little kick up the backside for Fuller who's hardly been firing on all cylinders. He was great when he came on at Wolves so let's just hope that he shows the right attitude when he comes on. I can't understand why Gallagher can't get a game though. Maybe it's something TP doesn't like in training, but Mark O'Connor's been raving about him in the reserves.

I think it's worrying that Pulis put on a team like this after just one point out of the last 9. It looks like one point is the target, and nothing else. Apart from Scunthorpe 3-2 and Wolves 4-2, the way to victory for us is to take the lead and hold on to it, we usually find it difficult when we get behind. I wouldn't have gambled to start a game without both Fuller and Gallagher, it doesn't look good.

well, for the last few games Fuller has been fucking rubbish. It will do him good to be reminded that he's not an automatic choice, and it might encourage him to pull his finger out of his arse.

I've long since given up trying to understand the workings of Pulis' brain! Surely, if he did want to rest Ricardo, he simply had to bring in Gallagher FFS?
Diao still being there despite clearly being off the pace is another mystery.
Here's hoping it all works out in the end, but that team looks like it has been set up for a 0-0 draw.

He is obviously trying something different. Playing to get to half time at 0-0 and then snatch something in the second half by bringing on gallagher and fuller for a 1-0 win.
That is all fine if we make it but if we go behind in the first half like the last three games after say 20/25 minutes then we have problems because it might be too early then to bring on more attacking players.

Like it or not, Sidibe is integral to the style of football we play. The most painful example of this was the Hull game when he was at the ANC.
Diao - well, I can only assume that Pulis feels he'll only get back to his best by playing games. I'd rather see a player who's already 'doing it' like Pugh personally...

I guess that's why you're playing on here lads instead of managing a promotion chasing football team. In Pulis We Trust.
