I stayed until the end but as a season ticket holder who travels 400 miles to watch each game I dont blame people who leave early...parking is awful, today the football was shite, sometimes walking up that bloody bank by the seddon takes longer than the drive down the M6, M1, M25!!!
To attract fans for the long term there are massive changes that have to take place around the ground and although I think you should support the team until the final whistle goes I understand why some leave early.

bobsyournan how far from the ground do you go after the game? Do you walk home or to a pub? Or do you have to sit through the blood pressure intensifying car park? Answer this honestly then you might find the answer, if you answer the later then your a very petient bloke ;D

I left early...nothing to do with having to get off the car park...just didn't think we'd ever score and was a very poor game!!!!!!!! Always gutted when miss a goal but them's the breaks!!!! I'm sure there are numerous people who have missed goals because they were having a pee, getting a beer/pie etc!!!! Do they get slated as well?

Ok clever dicks where do you park when you have a pregnant wife who wants to watch the game? A typical gestation period is 9 months. A game of football is 90 minutes. She's used to waiting mate, 5 minutes more isn't going to kill her.

Whats the difference between the fans who leave 5mins early before the final whistle (of whom i am one) who try to avoid the horrendous traffic conjestion getting off south car park, and those who leave thier seats early before half time and start lining up for chips and a drink to try and avoid the queues?

If people want to leave early that's up to them - I don't mind. What I DO mind is the hundreds who get up, stand in the aisles and block my view for the last 5 minutes. OK, I then stand up as well and then the people behind me have to stand up etc. etc. This is a bit rough on those who are dodgy on their pins and can't stand for a few minutes. The stewards should do the job they are paid to do and prevent anyone standing in the aisles and watching the game from there for the last five minutes.

I sit in block 23 and there are a mother (60ish) and son (40ish) who look identical and leave on 75 mins EVERY game, whether we are winning, losing or drawing. You can set your watch by them. They are ST holders and go every game but they must miss over a match a season. Mentalists!! ??? Small gripe - those that want to leave early, just GO - DONT stand in the aisles so all us 90 minuters dont have to crane our necks around you to see. The stewards should move them on but obviously are too useless to.

prem4stoke in answer to your question, i get there early, park on the roads outside the ground. this means i dont have to run after the match to get to my car and get away as quickly (or slowly..) as possible. less stress, more enjoyment ;D

It just made a special point on the championship about stoke fans leaving early stating one nil down and fans leaving when they should be keeping the faith.I also have to a 50 mile round trip and because of that i never ever leave early(yeah good for me i know).I think its even more of a reason to get your money worth.

I agree with Mr Fornside, if people find 90 minutes is a bit too long for them to concentrate then they are free to leave when they want.
HOWEVER if they leave their seat why do they think it acceptable to not only stand by my aisle seat but some cheeky fookwits actually lean right over in front of me cos the person stood in front of them is blocking thbeir view!
One of these days I'm going to throw one of the prix over the barrier and in to the disabled bit! Though up to now a gentle push to push them away from my side has done the trick!
PS I have NEVER left a game early and have NEVER waited in the car park I clap the players off pop into Delilahs and watch the scores come in, have a chat about the match for twenty minutes then amble up to the car and drive home. I also have to travel from outside s-o-t and I know other people who live by me who leave Stoke before the end of the game and they generally get back to Crewe about five minutes before me despite me leaving half an hour after them!

I usually leave on 90 minutes and sacrifice added time in order to get off the South CP and get to the M6. I don't feel guilty as I have a 200 mile drive home, if I miss something then I can cope with that, don't tar everyone with the same brush, if I lived in Stoke I would undoubtedly stay to the very (bitter?) end, but in the meanwhile until car parking/traffic is improved I'll be off after ninety minutes. That doesn't make me any the less a supporter, indeed with some of the whinges on this board I wonder how many would be prepared to spend nearly £40 on petrol for each home match as well as a season ticket?

Rather funny I thought - I only wish we'd have won it whilst all the part timer lemmings were running to their cars
dont forget, these people could suffer serious a serious bout of FLU - it was drizzling you know !
I choose to park behind the mich and hike in the rain rather than, park my car on the kerb next to the front door just because I cant be arsed walking for a bit,
its called 'making a little committment' - for those of you travelling a long way - perhaps more understandable - but, why decide to park on a car park which has such shockingly bad access ? - AND THEN, MISS THE BEST BIT OF THE BLOODY GAME MORE OFTEN THAN NOT ?
To me - its no brainer - if your really committed to the cause -get out of your bloomin car and walk !

Maybe leaving from 85 onwards is slightly more acceptable... but insisting on calling Fuller 'Jon' throughout the first half and then leaving on 73 (YES 73) minutes like the incompetent middle aged woman sitting next to me really winds me up no end.
If it continues against Blackpool I think I'll be having words!

How does it take 1 hour to get off the car parks??? OK it may take a while to get off the West and North car parks, but the players staff and hospitality people park on the west car park. The majority park on the south or trent car park, and it normally takes us 20 minutes to get out of the south car park. If you just sit there waiting then it will take longer, but droves and droves of people leaving on 80 minutes is ridiculous.
Some bloke near me left when we had been awarded the penalty. Crazy!!!
Some must miss quite a lot of the game. They turn up 5 minutes after kick off. Go down to the concourse on 35 minutes, come back 5 minutes into the second half and leave 10 minutes before the end. That's 30 minutes of the game they haven't seen. What a waste of money.

It is true to say that many people are now leaving earlier to miss that Fuckin traffic.
The car parks continue to be a disgrace and Mr Chief Exec needs to do something about it.
Can you imagine what it would be like if we were getting 25k every week.
And whats the problem with it anyway. It happens at every football ground in the country and always has.
