If it's a clean break to tib and fib then it certainly shouldn't be career-threatening.

the problem is what happens post op... theres a fair chance of infection and even after surgery bones dont always unite... there may also have been associated ligament damage...

Apparently he's had a titanium rod put down through the bone. What peope may or may not know is that the facilties here in Stoke for people with broken bones are apparently the best in the country, and many people get sent here to have surgery on similar and worse bone injuries. Spot on there mate. My Dad had an accident last year and he had the best care and the operation teams were absolutely spot on. Defiantly amongst the best in the country. I had my leg done in Stoke too. Mine was an identical injury to Ramseys. The only difference being that I played at a higher standard - Ansells Premier

I was in North Staffs A+E today with my lad who had a suspected fracture to his leg. When we got to The X-Ray department there was a bloke wearing what I could only describe as an Arsenal jogging top and bottoms but they looked like the stuff doctors wear in A+E. It was quite strange.
I asked him if Ramsey was OK and he just said yeah he's fine thanks, he then picked up some X-Rays and went off somewhere. There were also 2 security guards looking for a reporter who was trying to get photo's of Ramsey, scum bag why can't the bloke be left in peace.
This was about 2 o'clock today so it looks like Ramsey is still here.

If he plays at the Brit next season, I will happily give him a round of applause.

www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/official-statement-aaron-ramsey-s-injuryOn Sunday, Arsenal Football Club released the following statement: “During yesterday’s match against Stoke City, Aaron Ramsey sustained fractures to the tibia and fibula in his right leg. Yesterday evening he underwent surgery. "The operation successfully reduced the fractures and whilst it is too soon to state an exact timescale for recovery, Aaron will certainly miss the remainder of this season. Our thoughts are with Aaron at this time and everyone at the Club wishes him all the best in making as speedy a return to action as possible.” Cheers for solid news, it's a cliché but just relieved it's no worse. If it is a titanium rod I have two supporting my spine and they do a good job.

Are you sure Wenger would allow his player to be treated in somewhere like Stoke? You know what a good opinion he has of the potteries!

Wherty:
Be careful.
From your post you suggest that you work at the North Staffs ('still an in-patient here with us').
If this is the case the information you have posted is a serious breakdown of healthcare worker-patient confidentiality.
Im not having a go or being a spoilsport - just wanted to warn you.

In that case the Aaron ramsey on twitter is a fake as he claimed to have had the operation in london

He would have probably had the operation in London, as after the operation they wouldn't want to move him. I'm sure he'd prefer to spend 6 weeks in a hospital bed in London close to his friends rather than Stoke.

A friend of mine was up at the A&E unit today with his lad and texted me at about 1.00pm to say that Ramsey was still there with the Arsenal medical team.

They would at least stabilise the fracture here before moving him. An unstable fracture is potentially life threatening.
