correct Joe.
The old "You're going home in a Staffordshire ambulance" chant would have had some on here feinting at the immorality of it all.
Not sticking up for any chanters, but it's nothing at all, a heat of the moment insensitivity at wht was perceived as an injustice to our player.
We have far bigger issues to be concerned about than insensitivity. THis Platinum lark for a start.

As I was walking away from the ground to the mini bus, I was alongside a long row of (home) coaches. There was some needle whereby away fans were shouting "scum" at somebody on a coach which resulted in them pretty much chased off by fellow Stokies who were also on foot. As I walked on I saw what it must have been that provoked this, some bint, sitting on the coach by the window, knocked on the window at me, I looked up and she was holding an imaginary stick in both of her hands and then making a snapping gesture with it. Apart from not even realising she was doing this at a fellow Stokie, what a stupid cow.

But some folk get awful moral on this. I expect them never to tell or receive a sick joke; not to join in with any other insesitive chants (Merson/Adams - addiction; Cole/Bridge/Terry - lifestyle; Adebayor - mates dying etc); keep uunder 30mph etc. Talk about mountain out of a molehill. it was a song taking the piss out of some other fuckers misfortune, its not big and not clever but it is a part of life no worse than the abuse dished out the previous wednesday So surely it can be likened to you getting knocked over by a car, and whilst you're lying in the road with broken bones and bleeding out, a passer-by stops to point at you, laughs and calls you a wanker. That is what some Stoke "fans" did yesterday to Aaron Ramsey, it's no different. I for one find it disgusting, revelling in someone suffering a potentially career-ending injury. The people who did this are scum.

don't agree with all this banning talk, apart from whoever chucked that lighter.
These are insensitive chants. Not racist, homophobic etc. Trying to be devils advocate here but what about all those homophobic posts about Sol Campbell last night on here. That's far, far worse, but I don't see the outcry over those, which are personally much, much worse.
It might be out of order Neil, you are right mate, but so were the Adebayor chants - yet no outcry there too.
Double standards.

completely different context, but I see where yer coming from. Listen, I'm on noones side on this, but if folk are getting all sensitive over football chants (I do think a thicker skin is needed.
Feel sorry for the lad, but my main worries during and after the game were losing and a player getting red carded. That may make me sound a tw@, but I'm not, just someone who goes to watch my team.
Of course, every single decent Stoke fan wished Ramsay well, but bad injuries happen in football.

its an unfortunate incident which happens in the game,he will recover and i dont see why people are getting so wound up by a couple of datf chants,i didnt personally sing it but daft songs happen at football, would ramsey give a fuck or anything happened to any of us?

the chant was fairly audible in the boothen coming from some of the tossers at the back of block 19. These are the people who try desperately to start songs off... and never succeed.. so u have to pity them that the only song that caught on was the 'one leg' song. Incidentally... these are the people who's parents are also brother and sister.
it was out of order but at the time it actually wasn't clear what the injury was.. even though he was very clearly in agony.

this whole thread is a complete over reaction, the chant was in bad taste but so are most chants at games,i didnt join in but i have to admit it did make me smile,as most kind s of dark humour do.As for clapping the injured player of i just dont get it ,if i broke my leg at work i dont think any fucker would be aplauding me into the ambulance, its a mans game and shit happens,we should be glad that it wasnt our own player on the stretcher, get some perspective for fuck sake.

I'm certainly no hooligan and by and large the southstanders are a good bunch. Unfortunately there a number of brain donnors as yesterday proved and that's why I'll be moving. I meant no offence to the fans in the John Smiths it's just a little too sterile in there for me that's all. Regarding your sig I don't think you have added it recently but it's a little insensitive don't you think?

i certainly am no chav, i sit in the southstand and i did join in, as i would almost guarentee the arsenal fans to have sang it, if it happened to us, if you were in the southstand and saw some of the abuse we fucking got, you would have joined in to, people who are calling it shocking but they WOULD have done it to us.

some stoke fans really do piss me off, and they are the over the over the top flask brigade who come on here crying over funny chants, swearing at games, pennies being thrown etc. These are minor things that happen at every football ground in the country every week, ffs you are grown up men/women! i bet you find it funny when comedians poke fun at other peoples misfortunes. i bet all the people who chanted that also clapped the guy off, i clapped him off, but also found the stoke chants, jokes pretty funny.

I love the irony of Arsenal fans who booed Bolton's Mark Davies off after Gallas almsot ended his careere with a proper crap tackle.
This is a non-argument in my eyes.

Their leader, obviously, didn't see it. If he did, no doubt it was just one of those things that happen on a football pitch. The Arsenal fans just follow thy leader.

Fucking hell lads talk about over reaction. He's broke his leg, he hasn't died. Its a bit of banter for fuck sake. There's banter and there's banter if you know what i mean. When the banter is moronic as that was towards Ramsay we should be ashamed. You didnt need half a brain cell from where i was sitting to see that something incredibly bad had happened. Seeing Whelan lying down comforting the player should have told those dimwits involved all they needed to know.

We sit in the south and I thought nothing of it, had a moan as I thought it was just another diving episode, then felt a bit stupid when the medical staff came out.
It was aimed at the knuckle draggers in the away end. I've heard plenty worse songs about a player so I don't understand the big witch hunt.

While i dont agree with the songs or wanker signs as he was being put in the ambulance, you have to admit it happens at every ground and would have been the dsame had it been Ryan being carried past the Arsenal fans, imho anyway...
Just curious if all the offended on here ever received Jade Goody, Gary Glitter or Madeleine Mcann jokes and passed em on to their mates....
Perspective and all that....
