cant believe it, its terrible news really sad. 7.42am - radio stoke have just said "its believed he was hit on the head with a bin" people lives changed forever due to a moment of madness. |

So sad for the bloke and his family. I hope the "fan" responsible gets convicted - I suppose we are looking at at least a manslaughter charge?
EDIT - just seen on a Blackburn forum that eye witnesses (and video?) evidence suggests that this might have been an accident with horse play between fans and the lad who died "headed" a bin thrown in the air by someone else.
So, I maybe was wrong to prejudge - let's hope the Police investigation does find the truth whether it is an accident or foul play.

Man 25 from Preston Area has been arrested, 30 years old Rovers fan died just before 2.00 a.m. in Hospital last night, he had suffered a head injury and heart attack and was found in the concourse unconcious just after half time. What a sad day for some poor family. I don't know who they are, but my heart goes out to them. It's wrong that someone's, husband/son/boyfriend/father/brother could go to a football match and never come home. I hope he gets a minute's silence at both Stoke's and Rover's next games.

R.I.P MATE , I WAS TALKING TO ONE OF STOKES SECURITY MEN AFTER THE GAME AND HE SAID BLACKBURN FANS WERE ALL FIGHTING AMONGST THEMSELVES AT HALFTIME , AND THAT SOMEONE THREW A BIN AND THAT IT HIT ANOTHER BLOKE AT THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AND AFTERWARDS HAD TROUBLE BREATHING .
