I don't see how it's swings and roundabouts Rex, having seen Leitao's goal last week he was clearly offside, a decision that the linesman got absolutely spot on. Yet this week we have a linesman and a referee who don't notice the fact that the ball has just got in the net and come back out again! How the hell, when these people are officiating in a league that is only one rung down from the most high profile in the world, not notice when a ball has gone in the goal! There was a Crewe fan on the radio who said exactly the same thing. I tell you what Rex, if such a thing had happened in the Premiership to say someone like Leeds or another team battling against relegation, it could cost them millions of pounds and all down to the fact that an official hasn't done his job properly. Still, I'm sure the linesman will be rewarded for his efforts, no doubt he'll get to officiate at a top Premiership game next week just like Styles and Knight get to despite their total incompetence every other week! Still, I'm happy with a point form a tough game! ;D

Well said that man. No bias whatsoever due to the giving of Simpsons fridge magnets either! ;D
How are you Fran, been to see any good bands recently?!

You'd never guess Pricey but I really don't like match officials! Been to see a few bud but not too many, going to see Franz Ferdinand in a couple of months but I'm not so sure about them. And besides, I'm saving my money for hopefully a little trip to see the England v Wales World Cup Qualifier if my little friend at the FA can sort me out. While I'm at it, maybe I should ask him to find some decent bloody linesman at FA HQ while he's at it! ;D

Which qualifying match is on the 9th October (my birthday), because I'd quite like to go to that...one of the home nations I know that, just not sure which one.
I went to see Muse and Radiohead in November. I'm not sure about Rio and Les's brother Franz either, might have to buy the album though just incase it's decent.
Anyway, back to football and match officials.
Swings and roundabouts my arse, the entire refereeing world is conspiring against us...the ball went into the net and it wasn't given; are these people blind, plain stupid, totally incompetent, biased or what?! ???

I think it's the 9th Pricey yeah, although I don't think they've decided where it will be played yet, at a guess either Anfield of Old Trafford. Should be a cracker.
Album's out on Monday Pricey so I shall be getting it aswell, but like I say I'm still not sure what they'll be like. Not neally as good live as Feeder are I'm sure, but then you can't have everything! Never really listended to Muse that much, although they've come into their own a bit more in last 12 months or so.
Anyway we'll have to be careful or Smudge will move us to some obscure board for not talking footie! ;D
It just drives me nuts that officials can make the same mistakes week in week out and yet what action is taken the against them? Not a week goes by without heairng Rob Styles' name mentioned by some unhappy manager and Barry Knight makes 3 absolute howlers in 3 matches running and yet he's still somehow refereeing at the top level! He even admitted making a cock up last week in the Sheff Utd v Norwich game and I bet he was still involved in a Premiership game this weekend!

For the 2nd leg of the Carling Cup Semi-Final between Middlesborough and Arsenal (or was it the F.A. Cup replay between Spurs and Man City...what a shit memory, it was only this week) I think Styles was in charge with Knight as 4th official! To be fair, both seemed happy to keep a fairly low profile and decided not to ruin the game (whichever game it was ;D) but like you say, both of them continue to produce error after error and are apparently assessed (I assume they are still assessed at that level Rex?) as having decent enough games to continue in their role at such a high level! Any chance of another couple of tickets for that match then...or you could even give up your ticket if you are lucky enough to get one...what with it being my birthday and all! Seriously, how do you go about getting England tickets nowerdays, or are they never 'on sale' as such?!

Indeed it was Spurs V City Pricey, although Mr Styles did manage to get himself in the limelight again for sending Joey Barton for disgustingly asking why he had been booked! I mean, how dare he do such a thing!
As for the tickets, I can only get 2 bud which have already been allocated to me and the old man. And despite any offer of bribery, you've got no chance of getting them off me! ;D I could always get you tickets for the return at the Mill Stad to sit with the Welsh fans if you don't value you're life that much!
England tickets are bloody hard to get for the more high profile games. I did manage to get some through Ticketmaster for the Grecce World Cup Qualifier, bit I had top book the morning off work on the day they went on sale so that I could get them straightaway. Apparantly so my FA friend tells me, nearly half of all the Euro 2004 tickets were bought by England fans before the draw was made and before anybody knew where England would be playing! Pity the poor fool who got tickets for Switzerland against Croatia eh!

Ah well.......
...........500 quid each? ;D
It's a bit of bastard really. I've been to about 12 England games, 1 at the Stadium of Light and the rest at Wembley. Tickets seemed fairly easy to come by back then, although it was through Stoke and my school that I got them. I can't remember what the last match I went to was but it may well have been the 2nd leg of the play-off between England and Scotland for Euro 2000. Had the potential to be a great game, but Scholes killed it off by scoring 2 at Hampden 3 days earlier. Still, Scotland made a game of it at Wembley and if it wasn't for Seaman it could have been extra time and penalties.
All of this meant that Wembley was deathly silent, apart from the 4000 Scotland fans who 'celebrated' (most of them were pissed) vociferously throughout the entire 90 minutes, meaning it was one of the worst matches I've ever witnessed. I remember the teacher who organised all the England trips sending a person to get us all individually and then taking us into a little room and making sure we would not tell anyone about the trip because the tickets were like gold dust. So much excitement, and then its a shit performance from England.
Oh the memories!
Right, I'm off to drown my sorrows and watch Everton nearly draw with Man Utd! Cya mate!

Ha, £500 would even by the ticket stub never mind the ticket!! ;D
Yes another stinker of an England performance under Keegan. And there were plenty of them! Although, it could have been worse, you could have actually gone to Euro 2000 itself, seen us lose are 2-0 lead against Portgugal, just about beat an awful German team and lose miserably to Romania and not even qualify from the group. Luckily I didn't but I feel sorry for the poor buggers that did!
Indeed, although knowing ITV we'll see about 5 minutes of that game and 25 minute highlights of that stunning 0-0 draw between Southampton and Fulham! Laters!
