I think that the reason they have requested the whole of the stand is because of demand from northern based supporters. I was speaking to a mate who follows the Arsenal, lives in SOT and goes to most of the northern games. He maintains it's the reason they make more noise away from home - few library based fans there. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

Kev,
it's not about being all "big time" mate, at all.
End of the month and no way can I afford that with my daughters birthday next weekend. Already skint and now wish I'd not gone the York game with my little 'un.
I suppose we will now have 3 weeks of true supporter-measuring from some Stokies looking down their noses at others, whilst those who can't go offer reasons.
Will have to make do with ITV, I suppose.
sigh.

There must be a helluva lot of the 20,000 season ticket holders who don't do away games, so will not really have shelled out too much for a good while (installments excluded), so would most likely be thinking of attending this game, surely??
Edit - I'm talking their football budget here, of course. Not their general living budget.

bunny if you can't afford it then to me thats a good enough reason to watch it on the box but its the people that go to the pub and spend the money on beer and then say they can't afford the ticket which to me doesn't make sense. Also having 2 daughters meself i know were your coming from about costs and even at 23 and 20 it doesn't stop.

Isn't there a rule about having a certain percentage of tickets for cup ties?

I'll be stopping at home, but you could walk the pub, have 3 pints, and still save almost twenty quid on going the game.
To be honest, Stoke go on about support and have missed a great opportunity to get some excellent PR with the people that really matter - us the fans. 25k of whom came out in dogs weather to support the team a few days back.
The fact we have fewer away games in January makes no difference as many are finding it financially difficult after Xmas. I know we are as I've just been to the buidling society to dip into savings so the daughter can have some pressies and a party.
The cost of Arsenal tickets is a massive 2-fingered salute to the fans as far as I'm concerned. I'll be tellyclapping along with thousands of loyal SToke fans priced out of watching this game at the end of a month where everyone is skint.
P*** poor, Stoke, I'm afraid.

Isn't there a rule about having a certain percentage of tickets for cup ties? The away club is entitled to 15% of capacity - if they want it and can sell it.

No but the fact its full price apart from u11s says a lot TBH....York wanted to charge full price and the prices at that game were slashed after the 2 clubs could NOT AGREE? Me thinks Stoke have agreed to this?

In this case the clubs have agreed a reduction from A* to B - there is no evidence that Arsenal would agree to any less. Unless someone on here knows different..........?
