Deserved a red? I don't think so. Just because he broke his leg the disciplinary should change? Not a red in the championship. Barely a yellow. You would feel hard done by if you got one for that tackle. Look at the pictures. Taylor is looking at the ball (which is probably clumsy). But not intentional and not a sending off. Taylor was unlucky to catch him in the shin could just have easily been in the side on his leg and caused no damage. Not for the squeamish

He broke Eduardo's leg, therefore the tackle was dangerous, therefore he should have been sent off.

if that is not a red, i don't know what is?
studs in someone's shin is dangerous as was proved by the injury, whether it is intentional or not

i think it deserved the red but i dont think it deliberate. The stick he's getting is unreal and there was even pictures of him tackling while in training

That deserved a red card - end of.
I can't see what chance referees have when certain supporters expect them to not only look at the point of impact but what the player is looking at at the time. We'd need refs with eyes like Marty Feldman.
How do you know he was 'unlucky to catch him on the shin'? He 'could' have caught him on the side of his leg and caused no damage but he didn't did he?
If somebody clouts Fuller with a full studded shin hit in the near future I fully expect you to stick up for the opposition player.
As if.

Was a straight red, Taylor didn't argue
Sure he didn't mean it but was late, high and wreckless. Not really an argument

I reckon it was Eduardo's complete over-reaction that got Taylor sent off, lying on the floor with his ankle hanging off. These bloody eastern Europeans are spoiling the game with their unprofessional attitude.

Shirley, it was a foul by Eduardo! He could have seriously damaged Martin Taylors foot by putting his shin between the player and the ball.

soicowboy i agree birmingham havnt evan bothered to appeal, he did not intend to hurt eduardo but at the end of the day for a tackle like that what else can the ref do other then send him off.
i think if the ref had given a yellow taylor would consider him self a very lucky man.

Eduardos studs could have not been in the ground which would then have caused no damage

Typical one footed defenders challenge.
Tackling with the wrong foot in that position is always going to leave the risk of a bad challenge if he misses the ball, which is what happened here.
If he had gone in with his left foot even if he had missed the ball the challenge wouldn't have looked half as bad and would have been less likely to cause the injury it did.
It might not have been as bad a challenge as some of the two footed lunges seen recently, but it was still a full set of studs half way up the shin and the ref quite rightly gave him a red card.
