RIP Sir
Sympathies to family
YF10S
p.s. Have to agree with hustler, my father is 61, not a drinker, never smoke a kipper let alone a cig and he has terminal cancer. Offer him another 13 or 14 years and he would snap your hand off. As I have been told the liklihood is that I have a very good chance of following in his footsteps because of the type of cancer he has, I too would take 75, if offered now as I'm sure would many of the lovely stokies we have lost over the last 12 months to these wretched illnesses.

75 is a 'good innings' in your opinion? The average life-expectancy for males is 85 mate..would you fancy having 10 years knocked-off your life? Alan A ' Court RIP is 77 in the uk so put that in ya pipe n smoke it If he smokes a pipe that should knock 10 yrs off.

A decent good humoured bloke, was Alan. I got to know him well but it's incredible now, to think why. I used to discuss games in London with him and, when he realised that we had a video recorder, he asked me if I'd record say Arsenal, and let him have it, so that it could be used for coaching purposes, before we played them. And I'm not kidding! Ah, the nearest I got to working for Stoke City.

RIP Alan
I note the BBC can only be bothered talking about his England and Liverpool days with no mention of everything else he managed to do in a long and illustrious career
