They reckon 82 points will be enough for automatic promotion (I'm not picky about the Championship, I just want to go up)
That means 20 more points required.
7 wins then
OK, here we go... PNE (A) 3 points QPR (A) 0 points Burnley (H) 3 points Norwich (A) 0 points Watford (A) 1 point Blackpool (H) 3 points Sheff Wed (A) 3 points Palace (H) 3 points Coventry (A) 1 point Bristol City (H) 3 points Colchester (H) 1 point Leicester City (H) 3 points
Should be enough to see us up!

If we can take at least 2 points off Bristol and Watford 85 points will be enough.

Anyone got copies of the table at this point of the season for the last few years? looking at the final totals, 86-87 points seems to get you 2nd place but i think that may be a bit high this year.
if we take last years table as a target , then given our current points total if we're aiming for 86 points, we need an average of 2 points a game
5 home games 7 away.
so if are able to win our remaining home games, we'll have gained 15 pts (+got 3 points over bristol in the process).
so that leaves us with 11 pts needed from the 7 away matches. 4 wins or 3 wins + 2 draws.
so only room for 2 defeats. between now and the end of the season. (though that goes for everyone else to and looking at the run in, its not an easy task for any of the top 4)
last 12 games.
Us,
Preston v Stoke QPR v Stoke Stoke v Burnley Norwich v Stoke Watford v Stoke Stoke v Blackpool Sheff Wed v Stoke Stoke v Crystal Palace Coventry v Stoke Stoke v Bristol City Colchester v Stoke Stoke v Leicester
Bristol
Bristol City v Hull Charlton v Bristol City Leicester v Bristol City Bristol City v Watford Bristol City v Plymouth Cardiff v Bristol City Bristol City v Norwich Southampton v Bristol City Bristol City v Wolverhampton Stoke v Bristol City Sheff Utd v Bristol City Bristol City v Preston

TBH i think this time the results will go our way why others are already slipping up and looking at other sites they dont give us a prayer of automatic promotion so its up to us just to keep playing keep getting the right results and not worry about the others.
Starting with all 3 points at PNE tomorrow night.

We've got the easiest run-in ...and Bristol City possibly the hardest.

i agree it wont be easy as they are fighting at the bottom but at least it should put us 4 points clear till sat anyway.

i agree, on paper i wouldn't swap our run-in.
watford have games agains us, west brom and bristol. (that'll make or break their season)
west brom have watford at home + charlton away (also with the extra games in the FA Cup)
there's no denying it, its not going to be easy but the title is there for the taking.

we've got the least amount of games left against top 8 sides, out of the top 8. Win our home games and pick up a couple of away wins and we'll be there.

3 points tomorrow puts us 10 points clear of WBA - OK they will have 2 games in hand but its a fantastic oppurtunity for SCFC to put the pressure on the chasing pack.
Also it would guarantee top spot before kick off on Sunday regardless of Saturdays results.
4 ex-PNE players in our squad, surely @ least one of them will score.

Again i think West Brazil may well slip away out of playoffs with sides like Ipswich and Hull getting in there this league is so tight but god its nice to be at the top.

I think 85+ too, and I agree on paper we've got the easiest run-in - but only once we've got this next flurry of away games out of the way. For some reason I suspect we're more likely to get unstuck against PNE than QPR but otherwise (this way lies madness though!) I'd go with the knowles scenario, if not in every detail...

The competitive nature of the league this year means that there are still a lot of teams in with a shout of automatic, and capable of taking points off each other. It is unlikely any team will streak away with it as has happened in previous seasons.
I think 82-3 will get us up, Bristol City are right. Unfortunately I can see one more wobbly period, and defeats to Burnley and Norwich, to get us sweating, before finishing with 3 straight wins and a last-day party.
If we could beat Bristol and Watford, I would feel much more relaxed. In recent weeks we have put some serious daylight between us and Ipswich, and helped end Cardiff and Wolves's slim chance of ever catching us.
All in all, we seem less likely than anyone to collapse right now, and more likely to bounce back if we do lose a game. Goaaaaaaaaaaaaaarnn!

There's going to be a few more twists yet, if we can do well in the away games I think we will do it. 23 points out of 36 will do it unless one of the top four has a monumental run of wins.

Thats not right. Johnson said prior to the Colchester game he thought we needed 8 wins and a few draws to get promotion, He was looking at the 85 point mark for a top 2 finish. He thinks we can probably afford to lose another 2 between now and the end of the season. 19th April is going to be massive, can't wait for that! Do you think it will be all ticket, and should I wear full body armour for my own protection ;D

If you look at the other divisions, ours is the closest with the first placed team (us!!) on the fewest points.
So, I do think the winners and runners-up will not have as many points as in previous seasons. Unless two teams have blinders and win 11/12 or something, I think 85 will be enough for promotion.
That'll be another 23 points from 36.
I can't believe we're in this position with relatively few games to go. It's f*cking magic!

You have to give credit to bristol, digging out victorys weeks after week, incredibly tough to beat.
I can see it being us and them for the top 2 .
I have been very impressed, even though they played poorly against Palace on sky, they still picked themselves up from that penalty miss, most teams would've hid, they didn't , they kept working , and got a goal to show for it.
Good luck to 'em i say, not at the brit ofcourse though!

Another vote for 85 points, so 23 more, being enough this season. I think we can do it, but it will be tight.
I see 26 more and our going up with Watford, not sure if we will be first or second (that could depend on who wins the game between the teams) but who cares if we go up?
PNE (A) 1 point QPR (A) 3 points Burnley (H) 3 points Norwich (A) 0 points Watford (A) 0 points Blackpool (H) 3 points Sheff Wed (A) 3 points Palace (H) 3 points Coventry (A) 3 points Bristol City (H) 1 points Colchester (A) 3 points Leicester City (H) 3 points
