I'm sure anyone watching the Spurs-Man City game will agree that Rob Styles has a very strange definition of a player "going ballistic".
Barton calmly walks over to Styles at half time to question his earlier booking, does NOT use foul or abusive language and yet gets a 2nd yellow card. Styles then informs SKY that he was going ballistic.
Great display of how not to do it again eh Styles ?

Bizarre. Problem for Barton is that he can't appeal against two yellows. He is an excitable bloke but his body language was not at all provocative when he approached Styles.
It will be interesting to hear Rex's opinion on this - I can't think many refs would have given the second yellow.
3-3 as I type this - maybe Man City should play with 10 men every match! ;D
Wouldn't facy going into extra time having already played for 45 minutes a man short though.

And what about the obvious penalty in the first half when Keller grabbed Sinclair!! But what do you guys and gals thank of the Icelandic keeper in the City goal? Cheers McIce

I thought it was a penalty McIce. But it would have been a strange one - as Keller stopped the Man City player from moving away from goal to try to retrieve the ball. ???

Spurs 3 - Man City 4
Winner in 91st minute - what an amazing game. Not the result Styles wanted - I'm gutted for him! ;D

Snowy, cracking save from zieger's second free-kick and again from a header near the end. But doesnt command his box enough for my liking, but still only looks young so could come good in time.
I'm gonna have a fun day taking the piss out of the spurs supporting customers tomorrow ;D

Don't let them know you are a ref Rex or they just might lynch you. On second thoughts tell them, go on please ;D ;D

It was an amazing game, I'm glad city won at the end of it and I never thought I'd say that! The pathetic thing is they probably wouldn't have won if that joke of a ref hadn't annoyed them so much. I'd love to see someone really go ballistic at Styles, what would they get, a years suspension? What a tosser!

To be fair to Styles (I know, I can’t believe I’m saying this either! ), the leg that Keller grabbed was hidden from him, and then when Sinclair went down, he made too much of a meal of it. Also, Styles played an excellent advantage on the edge of the area, which allowed City to cross the ball and get their winning 4th goal. Also, as I can’t lip-read, and there were no microphones pointing at Barton, how do you know he didn’t use foul and abusive language? He's still a twat though!

Wouldn't serve me in the pub last night. Asked for a pint and the barman said "I'm not serving you if you going ballistic!" Last time I use the Styles Arms

Norwich, apparently Styles told Sky that Barton had "gone ballistic" and then cornfirmed that he had not used "foul or abusive language." Barton is a clever bloke if he can manage that. ;D
I would have had no probs if Barton had received a straight red for his challenge. But his lack of aggressive body language at half time plus the fact that Styles seemed very quick with the yellow (it seemed to be in his hand by the time Barton got anywhere near him) suggests that Styles may have been trying to make up for not giving a red in the first place - and I don't think that's in the laws.

OK, sorry, I didn't see the post-match interview. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise for City. Maybe that was the 'final straw' that made them all realise that they had to work twice as hard to get anything from the game. Sounds a very strange sending off all the same

But did you see the Birmingham Newcastle game last weekend when Bobby robson said Styles should have got his book out more often and sent Savage off - probably wouldn't as Savage would say he is been picked on.
