Lucky old Brighton this Sunday and every other team Liverpool play this season. This is all about putting pressure on officials in Liverpool games. Klopp is an arsehole and always was. The media love-in can't disguise what other clubs experience with him. If only AN would do the same. It's about time he put some pressure on officials. Klopp has his teams back I can't fault him for that.

Already feeling sorry for Brighton who are at home to Liverpool this weekend Enormous and unfair pressure on the officials for this game Possibility that the HS2 decision might be more important in the north west this morning ?

As if, I've got absolutely no memory of that happening. Also formed a guard of honour and clapped him on to the pitch. The ref should have been banned too.

Without question, Sunderland going along with the John Terry retirement circus. For that the club should have been folded, the stadium burnt to the ground, and all records and evidence of its existence removed from the face of the Earth.

Mmmm. Is Belgium's period of brilliant players drawing to a close now? 2024 is their last chance. They've blown it already and with better players than England's 'golden generation'

Love an ‘I won’t be watching it’ post. If you don’t care just don’t watch it, no need to announce it 😂 No Mead or Williamson is a big blow to England’s chances but you’d still fancy us to get to the Quarterfinals. Once there, maybe having best manager in the tournament will make a difference. I can’t see why Sweden are so highly ranked when they looked v ordinary at the Euros. I fancy Germany to win it. Real quality in their club football and a star in Oberdorf. Sweden are like the Spain blokes team was. Always expected to do well but don't deliver Belgium.

Bojan pre ACL injury absolutely. Unfortunately, post ACL he was never anywhere near the same player and it was not pleasant to watch him fading so badly from the player he was. Every time his name comes up, this myth has to be debunked.

I might have memory issues here, but weren't those two saying how decent the squad was in the summer/early doors? They were. Also the people who said we got relegated from the Premier League after sacking Pulis. When the facts were pointed out to them, doubled down and claimed it was just a difference of opinion.

I was a regular poster on the old board, going right back to the fenetre days. Can't remember the first ever thread but it was a very different experience back in those days. OldStokie had a bit of a thing going on with a Vale fan who was obsessed with Steve Brooker. The legendary valiantitus. But quite a while after the early days of The Oatcake. Not enough questions have been asked about the OldStokie. For a start, he wasn't even that old. Early catfish.

I was on it in the early days. The first thread was 'what do you like on your Oatcakes?' The consensus was cheese, bacon and brown sauce. Then bayern appeared and it became a thirteen page thread about Martin Carruthers in which he expressed 14 different contradictory opinions, only one of which he ever repeated again.

Not a single goal has ever been scored from a short corner in the history of football. Ok, that's almost certainly not true, but that's how I feel about short corners the moment I see us taking one. Not true. Plenty of goals have been scored- by the defending team winning the ball, breaking down the pitch and scoring while all the corner taker's centre backs are at the wrong end of the pitch.

I have no idea what the hell MON's starting formation was supposed to achieve yesterday- I've never seen such a tactical clusterfuck. He seems to have now entered the twilight zone with his gameplan: baffled at how his side couldn't play 5-3-2 without Souttar spreading the play from the back, he tried 4-2-3-1 but became spooked by the guys who'd been his wing-backs not being the best full-backs and trying to shoehorn a centre-back in at RB instead (We've been there before haven't we?) He also has the problem of too many lightweight, lazy gits in his side who can't or won't roll their sleeves up. The problem is now he's not doing one thing or the other- he's trying to defend and be solid but with a team of fannies. The best way out of this, for me, is to stick with 4-2-3-1 but forget trying to pass it out- just play the damn thing long and get in the opposition's faces. The team I'd go with until the end of the season: Bursik (I think he's poor to be honest, but no worse than Bonham and could get better) Smith (he's not a great RB but far better there than Wilmot) Wilmot (he's our player so should get the nod over THB) Jageilka (I'd consider giving him a new contract as cover next season) Tymon (I don't like him at FB, but would stick Fox in as soon as he starts struggling) Allen (He's the only midfielder who can defend, but God we need a proper tackler in this place) Baker (Needs someone alongside him with a bit of bite) Brown (Actually moves, unlike Campbell) Powell (been shite recently but can do the physical stuff) JPB (Not our player, but we need a bit of flair up there) Fletcher (Only player who can hold the ball up) For me, that side would pick up a few decent results between now and the end of the season. MON needs to sort his thinking out other wise he's toast. What I can't understand - and I'm not alone in this - is why he didn't change tactics when Moore went off. We should have been 2 or 3 nil down by that point and hadn't looked a threat in any way. Bearing in mind we could already see what was coming, why the hell didn't he change it then? I don't have answers, but at the very least he should have been asked that after the game, it was so glaringly obvious.

But Brown is of far greater intrinsic value to the team than Gregory ever was. Plus he is 10 odd years younger and has time to develop into a much more rounded player. Gregory isn’t and therefore won’t. Exactly! And the reason for that is his hard work and pace keeps defenders 10 yards further back than they would normally play, in turn creating an extra ten yards for our midfielders to find space to do their stuff. Nobody (to my knowledge) is saying his first touch is great or that he can score goals like Messi et al. He sometimes does have a poor first touch and misses the odd chance or two, but if he did have a great first touch and could bang in goals willy-nilly, he wouldn't be here at Stoke... he'd be plying his trade in the Prem. And it's true that if Tyrese comes back firing on all cylinders then Brown will probably be dropped to the bench but that doesn't take away Brown's contribution to a successful team while Ty is out. He's doing great within his limitations but he's got time to become an even better player on his side. In fact, he has become a better player than when he first arrived. OS. Yes. He's often compared to Jon Walters. At Brown's age, Jon Walters was playing for Chester in League Two. Give the lad a break and some time.

Shaqiri is still only 29, Nzonzi and Arnautovic are both 32. So I'd bring back Shaqiri. But it's close, if they were all 29 I'd bring back Nzonzi. Nzonzi playing in DM week-in week-out would probably win us the title. In fact I think I've changed my mind to 32 year old SN. Such a wasted talent Shaqiri Attachment Deleted

By the way Bayern, when he scores more than 10 goals in a season for us, I want to see a picture of you with your hands up. You can wear a bag over your head if you're shy. Won't matter. bayern will have had another 16,000 opinions by the end of this season, so at least one of them should be right. He can just point at that and ignore the rest.

It’s a friendly who gives a shit 😂😂 Bayern didn’t do well in science in school. He never quite understood the relationship between evidence and opinion. Harsh. He's statistically likely to stumble on a correct opinion at some point. He's the answer to the question "if bayernoatcake has an infinite number of opinions on an infinite number of topics forever, how long till he's right?"

Lest we forget what an odious little git he is - apologies for the foreign commentary. He got Pennant but was nailed by Wilko ! Just before the Cup Final and obvious all game that he wanted to cripple someone ahead of it. Absolute tosser. I hope he's finished.

No they have been overrun Very disappointing result since the Man City team were mostly first season young kids and 16 yr olds on the bench, I believe. I thought we would do better! We reached the final of the under 18s Cup. And until they scored their second we were still in the game and should have equalised. We should applaud them.

That Academy stadium is a fantastic place for the Man City Academy U18 team and their Ladies team to play football. Obviously we can't match the wealth that Man Citeh have, but it would be good for our youngsters if they had a "home ground" which actually looked like a proper football ground. Our Academy at Clayton wood is hugely improved on what it was a few years ago and the main building is excellent but the pitch on which the U18 competitive games are played looks like what it is - simply a slightly better equipped pitch than the other pitches at Clayton Wood. If space is a problem any new Academy stadium would not need to actually be sited at Clayton Wood. If/when we get back to the riches of the Premier League I hope we do try to create an academy home ground which looks like a proper football ground. Imagine if we had spent half the money we wasted on Imbula on creating such a facility? It could also be given a community use with cup finals played there by the local leagues at the base of the pyramid. That would be a great legacy for Peter Coates to leave the club when he shuffles of this mortal coil! And it could be shared with the Vale

My thoughts exactly. We could have equalised shortly before they got their second but once that went in, we fell apart. Up against a very good City side with home advantage - and boy didn't they milk it considering it was supposed to be a cup final? - they did the club and themselves proud. To be fair they had home advantage in terms of the surroundings but from a crowd point of view it was 90% Stoke fans... It wasn't just the surroundings. It was their flags on the pitch, their mascots, their announcer, their formalities, their banners. For a supposed cup final and for a club with their resources, they didn't half play it up as a home game.

I thought 6-0 is a big shame. They played well and unlucky not to level in first half. Once they scored the 2nd, their heads dropped and then quality with clinical finishes destroyed us. I was happy with what I saw though, some good players in the Stoke side. My thoughts exactly. We could have equalised shortly before they got their second but once that went in, we fell apart. Up against a very good City side with home advantage - and boy didn't they milk it considering it was supposed to be a cup final? - they did the club and themselves proud.

The Thing is back btw. He's scrawled on the bridge near Wolstanton Retail Park. Was going to mention him oddly. Good to see . Been away too long I remember a a kid someone had sprayed 'The Anti 1988 society' on Etruria station I often wondered what the society actually did and how the were anti an actual year. I bet they they were relieved when 1989 came around and all was well again All we need now is for The Hunky Torso to be dragged from whatever care home he's in and supplied with a spray can.
