Stewart Lee is brilliant and I think Al Murray is a lovely chap but not as big a fan of his comedy. Where did it all go wrong, Leese? My only claim to very slight fame is that Martin Fry did English with me at Sheffield and Phil Oakey stayed in my student house when it was vacant over the Summer. So, a musical connection Stewart Lee is absolutely brilliant. Genius even. Al Murray too seems a lovely fella , but not as funny as Stewart Lee. I went to school in stoke with India Fisher , the voice of MasterChef . If that's any claim to fame I don't know ? 😀. He brother Ryhd and dad Mark the former Stoke MP are Stoke fans !! , And her half brother Crispin Hunt from 90's band the longpigs !!

Its been great while its lasted in the top division. But I'm not disheartened in the slightest. We're Stoke fans, not premier league fans. In fact the premier league has bored me to death for a while. If you're not a top six side, then nobody gives a monkeys. One sided refereeing decisions, meaningless claptrap from the "pundits" ( who used to play for a top six club). Hysterical about decisions that don't favour the big clubs, silent about ones that did and shouldn't have. Its complete bollocks. Can't wait for next season. The macari years were my favourite, as a Stokie, and we were in division 3!!

PC is a good man and felt Sparky deserved more time. I was also in that category and now see what a disaster it was not getting rid last May. Hughes unfortunately let us down badly and too much damage has been done for us to recover from. I’m sure PC and others inc me thought we could pull out of this hence his comment... ‘ I don’t know what all the fuss is about’ which I’m sure he now regrets. I wish their were more chairman with the intestinal fortitude of PC. Yes he has made mistakes but who hasn’t? It’s been 10 great years and hopefully we can complete the great escape but if we don’t it’s been one hell of a ride and we owe a lot to PC. I'm sure he does love the club, and yes through slightly gritted teeth, we do owe him our thanks. BUT, let's not forget that he's done fantasticly well out of the club, TWICE. And used it as a vehicle to promote his MAIN businesses. To my mind I think this mess were in unfortunately leads to him. The buck stops with him and his decisions.

I can't see how your table ended up pyrus unfortunately it won't let me open it. But having just done the calculator, we end up 16th on 37 points. With baggies, Southampton and Brighton going down. I was very strict on us, however I had us beating Burnley, palace and Swansea on the last day ( big ask), and a draw with Everton. All the rest were tonkings. Maybe we can just make it?

God knows! I try to blot the bad times out 😀 You must have some massive gaps in you memory 😉 Didn't he go around January time ? Or whenever the window was open back then around that time ? Can't remember him at the bitter end of the season, although I have massive gaps in my memory 😁

[quote author=" smallthorner" source="/post/5891485/thread" Think that's a good summary. Nobody knows how this is going to turn out.... nobody. We all spout sh*t on here as if we've got the slightest inkling of what goes in the management of a prima donna premiership football club. I'd luuuv Lambo to be our saviour and uniter and bring some spirit and bollocks to our team and supporters. Macari like ..... Daft dream? Maybe. But it would be lovely for him to get our show back on the road. Cheap appointment? Easy appointment? Maybe, but let's give the guy a chance. Sparky did a great job and went off the rails.. as most managers do eventually, step up Lamboner.[/quote] Exactly mate. Still feel the board are tight arses , but that's not lambo's fault . If he's half as good as Macari , that'd be great !!!

He probably wouldn't have appeared on many peoples list if they were honest Dave, but he's here now and we most hope/pray that it turns out to be an inspired choice!!!. He's talking a good game thus far and let's hope it transmits to the pitch. I am cautiously optimistic. Same here ginger, was feeling distinctly underwhelmed at the outset. Then our marvelous supporters at old Trafford have shown the way and given me a bit of belief. Now the dust has settled , I'm quite optimistic and certainly excited by it. Who knows ? They may be just a chemistry , and something clicks ! Of course it could equally also be quite foreboding ? I dunno , I've got a good feeling about it . Welcome Stafylidis by the way . Goarn stoke.

It is Lambert apparently. I give up with this shit now. Absolutely wank. I’d rather potter got a chance at it than this cunt. Major problems at boardroom level, coates senior is losing the plot. Phew !! That's a relief. It's definitely not going to be Lambert then.

Let’s just be patient. There is a lot of water still to flow under the bridge. It's nice to see that you're on board with this potential appointment March. That's why it simply MUST happen as it'll galvanize 99.9 % of the supporters. Something that hasn't been the case since the Macari era perhaps ?

Only way to get rid of Hughes is by letting the board know we don't like him. I won't support the manager sorry. I think that process had already begun at the end of the Newcastle game with the boos and hughes out chants. Once the majority of the fans turn then he's pretty much a dead man walking but if the board ignore the fans and continue to keep the manager in place and there is no clear signs of a turn a round it will become more and more toxic then the board will be forced to act or risk fans turning on them. I agree to a certain extent . For instance the next goal against us , will result in rightful booing and calling for heads to roll . I was there at Birmingham at home 0-7. Is there a way to support the team without overtly supporting the management ?

is that the pottermouth rally call It's a wake up really . To all of us as supporters and fans . There's nowt we can do about the boardroom decisions unfortunately. The only thing in our POWER , and we really do have POWER is to support or not . It's up to us...

It's nowt to do with the management Ric. It's just getting back to being proper behind the red and white stripes . I'm pretty disappointed myself at the decision to stick , but what do we do about it matey 👍. Just remember what being a Stokie is....

WE ARE STOKE , WE ARE STOKE , WE ARE STOKE ,....... WE ARE STOKE , WE ARE STOKE , WE ARE STO-OKE , WE ARE STOKE , WE ARE STOKE , WE ARE STOKE , WE ARE STOKE , WE ARE STOKE . We ARE stoke !!!!
Just let that sink in for a min.
WE ARE STOKE .... What does it mean to be stoke ? It used to mean , and it STILL means , that you love every player that pulls on a red and white striped shirt . You cheer " hooray " or a "waaaay" whenever the announcer announces their name.Or a " huuutttth , or dooobbbbs ". You booooo the opposition players names as they're announced floating balls about in a warm up in their sky blue , white , blue ,yellow n green , purple with moave trim shorts , get in a huddle , switch ends at kick off , crack a joke or put an arm around the referee . We make it uncomfortable for them , every throw in , every corner , every decision ." Booooooo , does you're Mrs take it up the arse etc " . Rally the team in red n white . Give them our full voices , every flick ,tackle , dribble , save , shot , block , ( I realise we don't seem to be having nearly enough shots ) , throw in , corner , sub . Nobody but no one is happy about the shitstorm that OUR club is at THE MOMENT . But we as fans and supporters will ALWAYS be STOKE , and managers and players and board members , come and go , we as supporters will REMAIN. WE ARE THE CLUB . WE ARE STOKE. COME ON STOKE

Post by samwidge on Jan 4, 2018 12:50:59 GMT
It certainly sounds that way to me. They may keep him up to the Coventry game and make a statement after that, whatever the outcome. What is released in a press conference is not always what has been agreed. Nonsense, if he’s been sacked he won’t be in charge on Saturday, you’ve just said he stormed out of a meeting slamming doors and now you’re making excuses in case he is still in charge on Saturday 😂 Maybe he has to do a week's notice ? 😉

Please don't shoot the messenger, my contact just rang me I've just been told he has been sacked. Yep, just heard the same. Kicked off majorly in the meeting apparently. Denise has said previously about being against paying off failing managers but she's taking the hit. Hearing Dyche. Please let it be true . It's sad for Hughesy , but it has to happen . He's lost everyone ...
