Absolutely piddling down, slatting against the window sideways, all my Lady has done is stare through the window, if it gets any worse I'll have to let her in.

Agree but he set up to draw at best I know I just wanted to provide some balance before the thread erupted. If we had have drawn it would have been a good result. It should be seen in context indeed I tend to react to each game as just lived it - tonight was shocking Overall he isnt and has done very well But why does he keep messing with a winning formula ?

While he’s done a great job here so far he isn’t faultless. Tonight’s team left a lot to be desired, but let’s not get carried away. It’s our 5/6 games in 3 weeks we were bound to lose one. All about how we react in the next game, MON has a good record of getting a reaction. Agree but he set up to draw at best

Your the manager and that was shocking. Formation wrong, attitude wrong, personnel wrong (changing a winning side)and tactics wrong

And that wasn't particularly good goalkeeping either Probably but the tactics and formation invited everything we have deserved

What the hell is going on? BMI, Collins and Souttar were clearly our best 3. BMI did an ok job at left back, but in a back 3 with two kids he was excellent Total madness It's clearly a financial rather than a footballing decision. He's one of our highest earners, signed in the Premier League from a big club and a World Cup semi finalist etc. Our financial resources are even more depleted by having no crowds in and I guess we can't afford to turn down offers for our high earning players when we get them even when they're part of the team. I wish him well. Although he's clearly tried to leave a couple of times including in January, to be fair to him he's always given his best and hasn't sulked in the bomb squad and refused to play like Badou, Etebo etc. He filled in out of position at left back last season which is not his preferred position but he did it professionally and without complaint. Agree with all that Just hope we did the deal because we had no choice rather than tactical Either way a loan is worrying

I am so sorry for those who have lost their loved ones to this disease And I applaud anyone on the front line
However one cannot but reflect, given the much wider threat of the world, namely climate change, why we cannot as a collective respond ?

Biggest problem was creativity in the midfield. Spot On. Both Fletcher and Gregory had to keep coming deep just to try and make something happen

Gregory actually made some things happen today More down to the manager and his formation. But I do agree that it is criminal that he starts in front of Campbell

This system has produced 2 great away underdog performances And 2 dogshit games against well-drilled mid-table Championship fodder. Jury's got to be well and truly out, especially if Campbell and Powell are going to be on the outside looking in. You could add Brown to that with his pace, given how off Clucas was today and also Thompson for a clearly knackered Mikel (3 games in a week).

Just shit from 2pm onwards. I just dont understand what goes through his head when we are playing at home. People will call players out, but most of today was down to the manager and his formation Very frustrating that the chnages only made after we went 1 down, even though we never looked like scoring and even more frustrating they were straight swaps and the rigid formation was steadfastly stuck too. Sure some of the players were below par but it is the bloody formation more than anything for me

And on top of all the defensive stuff both of them are so comfortable on the ball. It adds such a better dimension to the team. Indeed The ball play was excellent, even under pressure

Brown for Gregory and that would be spot on

Newcastle United will entertain Championship side Stoke City in their final pre-season friendly. The Potters - managed by former Magpies midfielder Michael O'Neill - will travel to St. James' Park on Saturday, 5th September for a 1pm (BST) kick-off. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic and the Government guidelines around it, spectators will not be able to attend the match. The game will not be broadcast live and there will be no stream available, but the goals will be available to watch as they go in on Newcastle United's official social media channels. There will also be regular updates on Twitter at nufc and highlights shortly after the match on NUFC TV.

I wonder if we could ask Boris to extend the quarantine to a whole season for Mr Ince? It actually annoys me. We narrowly avoided relegation to the third tier and we have players who underperformed across the season living it up abroad somewhere. I get they're young and I get they deserve a break (like everyone does) but they've just had a huge break in the middle of lockdown where they could relatively put their feet up. The manager has spoken about the need for a fast start. With that in mind, you'd expect top professionals to have a quiet bit of downtime somewhere before kicking right back in ready to go. Need to get him out of our club

Tom Ince is somewhere. Looks horrific. Is that Keogh trying to light up his face on stage? I wonder if we could ask Boris to extend the quarantine to a whole season for Mr Ince?

That is what most outsiders looking in said about us when we went down. Probably depends on who they get as manager how well they do Indeed but bar Cleverly I’d label that English core as hardened Champo players. Were any of our lot that got relegated that? Not many for sure. One does simply not know what state the dynamics of a club are though which as we know to our own cost is much more influential than the players on team sheet

I'd imagine that Watford have probably bought very badly and therefore will have our age-old issue of players not wanting to head off to Adam's park on a cold Tuesday. Bournemouth maybe less so, and if they keep with the baby face, then they could be a rival next season. It would be very nice to take a lot of points off them. Don’t really think that’s the case tbh and anyone like will get a move. Sarr, Doucoure, Delefoleu, Capoue etc should all get a move to a PL or foreign club. They’ve then got players like Foster, Dawson, Hughes and Deeney as a cracking spine for any Chanpionship club. And then Cathcart, Gray and Cleverley to add to that too. That is what most outsiders looking in said about us when we went down. Probably depends on who they get as manager how well they do

Re invent him as an attacking midfielder/box to box? His understanding of the game and his closing down is very good. Just not that good in front of goal. Last 2 games he had much more influence than Vokes
