He’s a player who just keeps on getting better, he seems very grounded, and is clearly working on developing his game with the coaching team .

I do know he didn’t treat his body like a temple, his fridge wasn’t rammed with healthy options …if you get my drift. He wasn’t bad at taking free kicks though 🤔

Truth hurts sometimes, remember he has been there done that and has more than the tee shirt. Most of his gripes are about attitude commitment and basics. They don't change. Totally agree, he expects 100% from every player and to be proud to wear the red and white stripes. He certainly gave it 100% when he played and as he’s been, there done that and got the t-shirt, he’s earned the right to voice his opinions. Like a lot of ex players he’s a Stokie thru and thru and passionate about the club, he expects those on the pitch to be as committed and passionate as he was when he played.

Depends if you’re a glass half empty or glass half full kinda person ………maybe you’re just a dismal moaner, or alternatively an overly happy fooker who sees the shiney smiley happy side of everything….live and let live is what I think 🤔

I think If Ince can keep playing like this then he’s at last showing us how good he is. I’ve heard a lot of the players saying he’s really good, but we’ve rarely seen it on match day until now. He always seemed happy to be marked and when he did get the ball he’d look great for a few strides but as has been said before no end product. N Now he looks like a man on a mission …..I gotta say I’m liking the new Ince.

To be clear, I like her, I welcome her comment usually, I liked the show she did online. I just think she didn’t and probably doesn’t challenge MON enough and especially the comment about livelihoods got to me. She gets told how far she can go with questioning. She would like to ask more but is hamstrung by the higher powers. Totally spot on….Angela is Stoke thru and thru, she is very knowledgeable on all things Stoke city related and says it like it is. She works hard behind the scenes Representing and looking out for the proper Stoke fans, which hasn’t always made her popular with the higher powers at the club. I have an awful lot of respect for Angela She is one of the “good guys” if you know what I mean.

The refs always seem not just quicker to card our players but almost eager …we never seemed to take the piss, time wasting or rolling about on the floor when an opposition player touched you shirt, going down like there was a sniper in the crowd…. But when you get it done to you game after game refs do nothing to stop it, so you we may as well do it .have to say though I don’t like seeing it…I particularly hate the diving and rolling around…then 2 mins later “a miracle” the player is back up and running about cured “praise be”…

I’d like to see the statue lit up ….not just for personal reasons (it’s my dad) I’m proud of him playing for Stoke City and I know he loved the club, the fans and the city. He felt welcomed from day one, and proud to be an adopted Stokie. As a family we talked about paying to get lights sorted for the statue…but our best solution was solar spots lights, Which lets be honest would probably be nicked…but out of a sense of pride and respect it should be lit at night….happens at most other clubs I’ve been to..and to be honest I’d say the same if it wasn’t dad but another club legend.

Maybe we were playing him out of position all that time …🤔. To be honest not the worst goal scorer we’ve had or the best…but a top bloke who gave 100% on the pitch, which is all we want from players , IMO.

How many times have you sat at the match and said - "who passed that one" or "who scored that", etc. Its a very difficult job. I watched one game under lockdown on the stream and there was no commentary - it was incredibly difficult to see exactly who did what. I think Nige does a great job, try it yourselves before condemning him to the local charity shop. When I was a kid I remember Hugh Johns who was the master of getting player's names wrong. Still thought of by many as one of the best. I think we have a few waiting for Nige to make a mistake to have a moan. Either way , Radio Stoke won't be the same without him when he eventually calls it a day I totally agree with you, Nige is legendary. His passion for Stoke City comes through in his commentary….I love his “Nigisms” centre cirtle being one of my favs.. In the days before you could find a live stream of the game, you relied on the radio for live coverage of the match, Nige’s commentary is superb compared to some I’ve heard, it’s not an easy job, you should try turning the volume down on your telly and try to do the commentary.

Our defence seem to start off okay ..but as the game goes on they suddenly seem incapable of marking their man…the opposition break, they take the ball down the wing and put a decent cross in with two forwards coming in like trains . … yet we in the latter stages break down the wing ..cross goes in and no bugger is there …come on lads …think “ thundering train”. We are also this season incapable of defending free kicks on the edge of the box ….we got lucky with the one Bursik ducked for…it hit the post ..ffs.. Don’t understand it …we started off well and got better …then let them back in and fell apart .grrrr

I parked in the south car park once….whilst joining the mad “free for all” exit strategy, I noticed the couple parked adjacent to me had a full picnic on the go …flasks, sandwiches, etc . I realised at that point they knew it was going to be along wait to get off the car park , and had settled in for the evening…I wish I’d known a cuppa and a butty would have been most welcome..

I think big Nige is an absolute legend, I love his “Nigisms” and look forward to them …..I often get the players mixed up, the numbers are hard to read sometimes even with me “Gregory’s “ on (Specs ) . As for the stadium I still refer to it as the Brit……I don’t find the Bet 365 stadium has the ring to it as the mighty Bearpit ..

Dad always said the hardest penalties to save were the ones hit at speed and in the corners …he said you had a split second to decide where you thought it was going and commit to the dive, and try to cover as much of the goal area as you can,. If the penalty was struck hard you might get your fingertips to it, but chances were it would still go in. All the players should be practicing penalties at the end of training,

Just wanted to say a big big big thank you to you all, for all you do to help. People from Stoke are the most caring people I know, you give to others even in the toughest of times. I cannot get over your generosity and kindness. Dougie Mac hospice and nurses are truly amazing and I hope we can all continue fundraising efforts for them .
Thank you again it means a lot as it was in dads memory, I know he has a special place in the hearts of many in this city, as he does in mine and the rest of the family. The memories of him are our shared gift to treasure always . Thank you

My Nephew Matts and a group of mates are walking from Chesterfield FC, dads first club and finishing at the Bet 365 dads final club. The aim is to leave chesterfield at 5pm On Saturday the 24th October (this Saturday) and walk through the night arriving at the Bet 365 around 2.30pm on Sunday . They are doing this in aid of the Dougie Mac. The Dougie Mac enabled us to look after dad at home in his last few days, and we will always be grateful to them. Dad wanted to be at home and not in hospital and he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, this would not have been possible without the Dougie Mac Nurses who were wonderful. For more information please check out. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/matt-gordon-banks-dougie-mac?utm_source=whatsapp&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=matt-gordon-banks-dougie-mac&utm_campaign=pfp-whatsapp&utm_term=92c9b92797784e7eab11b97d28e76d08 I’m very proud of my Matts and his mates for doing this, as not only would a raffle have been easier, it is a long way, plus it’s very hilly and the weather, well it looks pretty grim. So I wish them all luck and please support a worthŷ cause. Goarrrrrn Stokies Wendy Banks

Macca is the sort of player we need to get out of this division, gives his all, keeps fighting and battling, he plays the ball down the wing, .goes..deep, then puts cross int the box ...which our better strikers can get on the end of ..( because they’re hovering in the right area in or around the box) And then they in turn direct the ball towards the back of the net between the white posts ...not over the posts or the back of the Boothen ..hopefully they will avoid smashing it at the Opposition goalie.....and go for gaps ..
Macca can even get the ball past the pesky first defender, who often in the past has acted as some sort of ruddy ball magnet, rendering a lot of our players unable to get the ball high enough to go over them, instead causing our players to strike the ball at them ..( this used to often happen to us at corners too ..)
So personally I hope Macca stays ..we need him .

Not exactly a 'hands off' www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-news-live-4536973No James McClean in first two league games, whispers of a move to Celtic - do you want to put that to bed?MON: I think that’s probably just a rumour that’s been created by someone - and it certainly hasn’t come from our end. James isn’t a player, equally, that we are looking to lose at this minute in time. The nature of the transfer window is such that you have to be flexible and if any situation arises with any player you have to give it consideration, particularly where we are at this minute in time. We have to obviously deal with the rules of Financial Fair Play and deal with too a squad which is bloated. James is no different from any other player in the squad and if the situation arose we’d have to consider it but at this minute in time, I think that would be highly unlikely. Depending where we look like ending up financially near the end of the window, it might become a "come and get me".
Please.
Edit:
Could actually see Mince going there too.Pissing myself at “mince” name ...totally brilliant 😀👍
