I’ve always thought of things they could do: -New fan zone -Expanding concourse size -Relocated ticket office -Tunnel corner redevelopment with hotel/offices/museum development -Central players tunnel added following digging under the main stand -Improved fan access (bridges/subways added to the main roundabout) -New slip road onto A50 - Better car/bus management -Offsite/nearby “community stadium” for academy & women’s games Definitely need some kind of museum, despite a serious lack of honours for a club of our history & stature, we're a club steeped in rich history with a plethora of top players who have worn our red & white shirt. There's plenty of artifacts & display pieces that could make a museum a place for us celebrate our past and worthy of visiting. Would be good if fans could donate/loan pieces of retro merchandise to display. I've got a fair bit of old bits & pieces that would look better mounted in frames in a club museum than packed away in a drawer.. A museum is a great idea and would help me out no end …..😀 we have loads of memorabilia, trophies , medals, awards , stuff dad was presented with . The list is endless, I thought it would be better to try and keep a lot of it together as a collection, rather than divide it up. As a family we’ve grown up with all these things and they are familiar to us, but I always thought it would be nice for other people to see them. Things were squirrelled away over the years, right back to dads school report.and his army/national service days, plus an extensive photo collection. As I’m struggling for storage, this would solve my problem in one go 😄

I hope they don’t pick up on the Bob Marley - I shot the sheriff then! It could promote shooting of cops! I think this is what the youngsters call ‘Cancel Culture’ isn’t it? Lol ….but he did not shoot the deputy ……and like it was pointed out earlier, gangsta rap, I could be offended by all that, if I knew what they were on about. Do people really take everything they see and hear in songs and on TV, video games ,films etc seriously. Growing up Boomtown Rats sang about ‘not liking Mondays ‘ I knew the origin of the song, didn’t really like Bob Geldof that much wasn’t big on Mondays though, but I didn’t think about shooting the whole town up…I did like Alice Cooper however …and schools out song epic but again it never entered my head to blow the school to pieces. We won’t be able to say owt soon that doesn’t offend someone, so match day will become awfully quiet …..is this a library is this a library …. We are supposed to have the right to freedom of speech and we won’t all agree, but just because one person doesn’t agree with something doesn’t give them the right to take it away from someone who does ….if that makes sense . There’s shed loads of things that annoy me like strictly come dancing, love island etc ….but I don’t have a mental about it …I just switch channels . I can make my own mind up, as long as we know the difference between right and wrong, dad always said treat people how you would expect to be treated , with respect. But he did believe in “live and let live” ………and we were brought up to have a laugh and to be able to take a joke …😀

They all look great for a 2-3 weeks then summat happens to them when they join Stoke and they morph into a different player entirely….I shall endeavour to stay positive but it’s not easy….I keep occasionally dreaming about supporting Wrexham the occasional glimpse of Ryan Reynolds would be entertainment enough.😀

Sorry lads, I love Delilah as much as the rest of us but I think there’s a fair chat to be had about it. We live in a world where there is an unacceptable amount of sexual abuse - I’m not sure we can brush off using a line where a dick is stuck in someone’s hand as banter and woke bollocks. The older is get the more I’m starting to grow a conscience about it The worlds gone mad…..and the older I get the less I give a t*ss, nowt like belting out a good chorus of Delilah …..as a female I don’t sing the dick bit as it never seems quite right as I don’t have one….. I do however think Tom Jones squirming about in tight leather trousers is quite disturbing 😳

The Banks statue is always “open” as it sits on land belonging to the wonderful and generous Stoke city council. This was due to a bit of an upset by a ceo whose name I shall not mention wanting it sited anywhere out of the way and preferably not on Stoke City land if he had anything to do with it ..so a very nice man from Stoke on Trent city council put a motion forward for it to be owned and sited where it is now, as that land belongs to the council as does the statue. I’m glad the statue is there as I get to wave to it and shout hello dad every time I drive past , I go up and put the Christmas hat on every year as I promised dad I would, And I sit and play 60’s music parked up on the pavement window down on Father’s Day and other special days. Dad liked his music … Oh wow that’s fucking ridiculous. What a vile little man. Haha I saw the hat when we went past to go to Trentham and it made me smile so thank you!! I think it’s a good spot for it though so unintentionally it seems because people just driving by will see it. And it’s just a great statue of a great man. Thank you….and it is designed so people can stand up on it and put you arm around dad for a picture ….so really it’s in the right place .

I often see footballers getting slated on social media - be it for drink, drugs, women, gambling or in this case getting bankrupt quite possibly to do with a multitude of those things listed. I often wonder out of all of those dishing out the criticism, how many would go down the same path if they were afforded such luxuries and trappings? I dare say a fair percentage would and i'd hold my own hand up here and say i'd definitely go down the wrong path to some degree. I can only imagine how hard it is to stay on the straight and narrow having been in a very insular Academy system from the age of 6/7 to getting tens of thousands of pounds a week from the age of 19/20. The Jude Bellingham's and James Milner's of this world are very rare and it is to their ultimate credit that they stay on track as they do (and hopefully in Bellingham's case carries on doing...). The families behind them righfully get a lot of praise but ultimately it's the kids that have to make the right decisions. It's tough.
I agree with you, some players have families behind them that keep them very grounded, Peter Crouch for example and as long as they are in touch regularly with family they stand a good chance of staying more grounded. The problem arise usually when the young players are moved away from family and the football clubs try to take over. These young lads are usually pretty naive and paid fairly big money ….they make new friends …get afternoons off and tend to hang around with other young single players As the majority of folk are at work . They’re then start gambling , playing snooker etc and trying to fit in with the rest of the lads. Everyone wants to be your friend, girls will be trying to be the next new wag ….so it’s easy to get led down the wrong path .. . The football club prefer them not to and get a degree in their spare time as it may distract from football, which is all the club care about. Really the young players in all teams should be encouraged by the clubs to do something about what happens when they retire from football, as most of them will not earn massive wages , top flight players will but not lower league players. Plus they have to deal with being treated like a superstar one day, then forgotten pretty quickly when it’s game over. This doesn’t happen to all players I know, but it does happen to quite a lot, and it’s harder for some than others to deal with it. So I’d say cut pennant a bit of slack, and remember as I do he did have one of the best songs. “I want curly hair too”

The life seems to be being drained from this club from the inside….something at the heart of the club is fundamentally wrong ….the brief period when Lambo was the manger, I recall going to the training ground at Clayton with dad , it was something that had been arranged with Jack Butland. Jack met us in lobby and took us up to where the players were finishing lunch …as soon as we walked in Peter Crouch and Joe Allen and Diouf came straight over to talk to dad and shake his hand and chat with him and the rest of us ….which was really great . As we were all chatting, my brother spotted Paul Lambert…deep in conversation with Peter Coates, other players were seated near them on the long dining tables, it was pretty obvious that Peter was discussing the situation at the club. So I know Peter Coates was maybe trying to figure out what had gone so terribly wrong and was engaged with players and manager.
Now Peter is getting on and has handed over the reins to John Coates, who has maybe relied a lot on others to make decisions, which he is now having to make. I do believe we need to get back to basics at the club, when we were in the Prem, the club in my opinion (the big cheeses) at the top (Tony Scholes etc) were only interested in the corporate stuff , the private box customer and forgot about the real fans, the ones who follow the club whatever division they are in come rain or shine.
It was like the club only wanted the better end client…..and the hard working man (or woman) was not very important anymore…
When dad first signed for Stoke , Tony Waddington made it about family….not just players, but the fans . We were all part of this Stoke City family. Dad loved the Boothen End fans Because when they sang he said “it sent shivers down your spine,” you wanted to be the best for them …..Tony Waddington made the players and their family feel very much part of the club, . Tony took us to Abersoch a few times to get to know us ….and it wasn’t just us he did that with all the players at different times. The bonds made between the players of that squad and era are still going strong, these boys played as a team, for each other, the manager, the fans and the chairman and directors. They were all proud to pull on those Stoke City stripes (or green jersey for dad) and would never have dreamed of giving anything other than 100% on the pitch.
The cohesion of all these elements combined are what makes a club. The moment one part thinks they are more important than another part is when the structure starts to fall apart. The players are important, but this club has been around since 1863…so the players need to understand this and embrace what we are, Stoke is not Flashy, its built on hard graft. My dad never forgot his roots, he was working class and proud of it…sorry for the ramble ….i just want to end by saying I wish we could go back to being the Fortress Britannia again, I have always struggled with the rename of the stadium …the mighty Brit aka the ‘bearpit” epitomised everything we stood for, teams visiting us knew how hostile our bearpit could be And were already psychology on the back foot just parking the team bus up there…..again I apologise for the ramble .

Since we renamed the stadium to the bet 365 we’ve gone downhill ….we need to go back to the “mighty Britannia “ the fortress, the bearpit …..let us get our Siege mentality back, And if nowt else put the fear of god into opposition…….the players may join in if they want to ….a bit of a battle would be great 👍

When we do get a cross in our strikers look surprised and shocked 😮 and then try and deal with the ball landing unexpectedly near them, no wonder they tap it at the keeper they need more warning and time to prepare ….ffs …🤔

I will miss listening to the man, the legend Nigel Johnson on the wireless . ..I suppose it’s better to retire at the top of your game …. Can you train up a few of the others before you go please, as I will miss hearing Red and white stockings, and centre cirtle …. The job you have done over all these years is amazing, I have always enjoyed listening to you on match day,it won’t be the same without you. Maybe you could do the odd guest appearance for old times sake ?

The club seems to be draining the life out of all it touches ….new managers come with promises of turning the club around…..their enthusiasm is infectious for the first few games, then bit by bit it wanes, you can see it in their eyes in the post match interviews, wondering why they gave up a perfectly good job at another club to come here. They try to stay positive and make excuses for the players lack of performance again….but deep down they start to question things. On paper we’ve got all the right components to be a threat in this division, Wealthy owners, a more than capable squad, good support , excellent facilities and yet there is something that eats away from even the most optimistic of us. The players lack enthusiasm, the crowd lack enthusiasm the lack of giving a monkeys runs top to bottom of the club. The longer it goes on the harder it gets to turn it around. I know it’s been very hard at times being a Stoke supporter, in fact it’s been torture but this is a different feeling, I have even begun to think I’d rather do some housework than go through the whole “match day” experience. I question why I bother to turn up when the team can’t be arsed to ……I don’t know what it will take other than a ruddy big miracle to get us back to being a team that makes up in fight for what it lacks in skill. We always knew what we were about ……that was fight and dogged determination to grind out a draw at the very least . We never used to be “fragile” …..hard , difficult to break down, brilliant from set pieces, dogged in defence , bodies on the line, not the most prolific in front of goal, but generally hard to play against, especially if you played fancy football. The mighty Britannia was our fortress ….maybe we should start there and change the name back and see if we can get some of the old spirit and fight, back into our team .

Many say the game has changed...but the basics are still the same...score more goals than the opposition. Currently we have so many coaches, assistants etc but with little end result. However, we are told that Waddo just told his players 'go out and play' and his only assistance was Frank Mounford with a bucket and sponge aided by the occasional appearance of a long distance runner taking the players over Trentham Hills. When did it get so complicated and wrong, or is just todays modern footballers are 'thick' and can't play basic football, or is it coached out of them? I agree with your thoughts on this …..there are too many “back room” buddies, hangers on , trying to justify their job. The players now wear bras under their Stoke shirts, What’s the point ? So the bra watcher can monitor the players fitness level ? Bit late for that in the middle of the season ….they should be fit …and if they’re coming back from injury I suggest easing any returning player to the squad, and not playing them for the full 90 mins …common sense really …I think all the monitoring and analysis of this type of data is information overload for players …it’s like being on a diet …all you focus on is food and all the things you can’t eat…. Football players are usually pretty simple people who want to play football, and actually love to play football …let them get on with it and keep it straight forward for them . For example ….the manager …..giving instruction You …concentrate on scoring goals, you …get the ball to him so he can sore goals, You stop goals going in your net You mark him and stop him getting the ball , if he does stop him getting a shot off at our goals You big lad ….you’re captain, I want you to shout at players who are not doing the above instructions and those that are give them a pat on the back and encourage them to do more of the above . All of you communicate on the pitch, if a player can’t see a pass, make yourself available or tell another player to move into space ….

We don’t seem to have a clue …we are useless in front of goal and woeful in defence ..no leadership on the pitch. Do they want to go down ? Because they certainly don’t look like they want to fight to win a match . I can’t get my head round why we can’t get a decent shot on target hit with pace at the opposition goal …..any aggression on the pitch is usually hand bagging over grabbing the football off the opposition so we can take a quick throw in or stopping them taking a quick throw in. Resulting often in a needless yellow card..
What do we practice in training ? Because whatever it is we need to practice something else, because whatever we do in training clearly doesn’t cover the basics of the game, which is score more goals than your opponent. Every game it’s a different formation, different players ….I’m confused trying to figure out what’s going on, the players are clearly confused….it’s as though we could have a brilliant team cruising up the table in theory, but we seem to be intent on some sort of self destruction. For heavens sake Stoke get a grip ! It’s football ffs not quantum physics.

What a truly wonderful man, the greatest player I have ever seen play. He was the complete football player, a true genius with a football. I have been so fortunate to have met him on several occasions and felt a sense of awe in this man’s presence. He was a gentleman and a compassionate man raising a lot of money and supporting a lot of good causes in Brazil. Pele did say that in spite of all the goals he scored in his career, whenever he was with dad all anybody wanted to talk about was “that Save “ I know dad felt truly honoured to call him a friend and they both had so much mutual respect for each other. RIP a true legend.

TC has been sacked and is now at Crewe. TC's not at Crewe as far as I'm aware apart from watching the odd match and attending academy matches where his grandson is involved. Not sure he was sacked as such, more like a change of role that he didn't accept. I also heard he’d been offered something at Crewe. TC put heart and soul into the hospitality at the club, I seriously doubt anyone can make a better job. The old players from the teams of the 70’s 80’s 90’s etc, the ones who have chosen to stay in the locality do so because of their love not only the club but also the people and the area. These players are very well informed about the goings on at the club, they have extensive knowledge and know what it takes to be part of a winning team. The game hasn’t changed that much, yes you’ve got more back room staff, dieticians, specialists in this and that….but has the overall team improved? So many of the players struggle with 90minutes on the pitch. The bra thing they wear pings telling some boffin in mission control that young Bobby (fictional player example) Is knackered, so he’s subbed. Young Bobby is paid to train during the week, so that he can play for 90 minutes without blowing out of his ar*e . A lot of the older players are too polite to say some things on the radio maybe ? But to question their knowledge and how the game has changed is laughable. I have been to a lot of other grounds with dad on different occasions and what has always stood out to me is the walls of these clubs are covered in pictures and memories of the history of the club with pictures of club legends, the sense of pride they have in their club and players both old and new is wonderful. We seem to want to focus only on the current squad and manager, maybe if the players knew about some of the legends who have played at our club, they would get a better sense of pride pulling that red and white shirt on. A lot of the older players can tell stories going way back about not only our club legends but other legends they have played against. So let us embrace our history not try to forget it .

A lovely man, with a wonderful sense of humour, very humble and like all the 1966 squad a real gentleman and a true winner. We have lost so many of them, but the spirit of all the squad and the magic of that day in 1966 is etched forever in the memories of those that witnessed a truly spectacular event.

Bring in Paul,McKenna and he can make them believe they’re Pele, Messi, even Bill the fish…… That would be a Sports Hypnotist then.. Thinking they were Billy the Fish would be interesting to see. They need something ….billy the fish would solve goalkeeper issues but guessing Fulchester united won’t sell him….

As Malcolm said, Angela declared her role in her election statement and those who voted will have seen that. I know that others before her on there have also worked in some format for the club, too. It's a real shame for someone who was open, has really held the club to account over the years, and always put the club first. I totally agree with your comments Bunny. I would also like to point out that everyone who voted for Angela ( I am one who did ) probably feels quite insulted by your comments. Angela disclosed everything in her election statement, She has always been a fan, first and foremost, she has always been vocal with the club and never shied away from asking questions of the club…that they didn’t always like. She has gone above and beyond , working diligently behind the scenes on behalf of “us’ the fans, trying to improve all aspects of how we are treated by the club. I know for a fact she has given an awful lot of her time to help Lou Macari and his charity, which Is dear to a lot of Stokies. Along with many other projects that she has given support to for no other reason than she cares about all things Stoke City. Angela was voted for and won the election, others appear to have had roles within the club and media whilst standing and this has caused no problem, the club were fully aware and they were okay about Angela and others standing . So I really don’t get why there is any problem here, other than sour grapes perhaps ? And if Malcolm feels he’s getting some abuse…he needs to .look at what he’s written, seems okay for you to dish it out
