I have to say, long ball you might be, boring you're not. Its not easy on the eye to watch, but I've never been so expectant when I've seen a throw-in given.
As a fairly young Baggies fan, Stoke are the first team I've really hated, because Villa are too far ahead of us, and Wolves are just...shit really. But I'm not going to spew a load of shit about you being boring because its simply not the case. I don't like your football, but its functional, and it does create close games because of your ability to score against the run of play. This makes for more exciting matches.
I would say good luck for the season, but honestly I hope you go down. Still..enjoy the ride. =]

Miller might not have scored, but we've played Arsenal and Everton who have two of the best defences in the league.
He's currently our number one striker.
Let's see how we do against Bolton, and compare that to how you do against Bolton. Like for like wouldn't you say?

Kiely; Hoefkens, Barnett, Meite, Cech; Koren (Pele 95), Valero, Greening, Brunt (MacDonald HT); Bednar (Beattie 65), Moore.
Actually, that is kind of a Reserve squad.
Reserve Keeper, Reserve Right back, Reserve Left Back, Recently signed and unadjusted Right mid, Left Mid subbed off at Half time, No Miller up front.
Its hardly our strongest line-up.

I don't think you did miss out personally.
Firstly, he wanted a guarentee he'd get games.
Secondly, he's 35, and has a dodgy knee and is one bad tackle away from retirement.
Thirdly, there's no guarentee he'd get goals at this level.
Fourthly, he doesn't really fit into your system. He can't win headers at all, and doesn't have the pace to chase flick ons.

He did go to see other games as well last season. Although, mostly prem. But tbh, I can't see any of your players getting into the England squad, or ours for that matter, except maybe Carson.

Why not Barry? Successful club captain. Not one of the big 4. Middle of the park. Always solid, never spectacular. Seems perfect.

Hey, there are plenty of Stokies giving their opinions on our board too. I don't think you'll be a pushover to us, just to them.

tbh, I don't think even if Faye is fit, you'll manage to keep a lid on Gabby. He's faster than Walcott..and Carew should worry you too. Villa are one of the best sides in the league now.

Exalt. I know I'm biased, but I think that WestBrom.com is one of the best-run, and easy to navigate boards around. This on the otherhand, is a little reckless. I still enjoy coming on here to read people's views, but it would be a lot easier to keep track of things, if it was more like WestBrom.com

Only one Faye's a great buy.

IMO we need 1 proven premiership player in each position ( DEFENCE, MIDFEILD AND CENTER FORWARD) but maybe not the goalkeeper, id be quite happy with simmo and nash in that position for us. We need an expereinced quality center back, midfeilder and forward i.e Gardener or Riggot, Stelios/?, kitson or harewood then make up the rest with better championship players before they are all snapped up i.e, scott sinclair, joe ledly, adi moses, cameron jerome to make up the numberS.. And as much as people dont like them I think that Kris commons and john halls would of been very good squad players. You won't get Harewood. No chance. Too highly rated at AVFC.

Carson hardly had a bad season at Villa..couple of high profile mistakes that's all. I honestly don't think Nash will be good enough for the premier league, but Fulop I think will be better. Dunno why, just a feeling. Have you read the Villa forums on him? www.villatalk.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=40245www.avfcblog.com/content/view/2362/70/If we signed him, I'd obviously back him and be consoled by the fact that he'd raise our profile and maybe help other higher-profile players to give us more of a thought, and also the fact that clearly someone at Liverpool thought, as a teenager, he had the raw material to develop into a very good keeper. But it's a massive gamble at that kind of outlay. We're not talking about a sure thing solid Premier keeper like Jaaskelainen or Friedel, or even Schwarzer or Green with years of solid Premier League performances under their belt, but a 22-yr old who's played 2 seasons (and admittedly apparently done well for one of them at Charlton) Looking at the various Villa forums, I was absolutely staggered at the almost universally awful reviews they gave him. Whether it's solely down to confidence or not, who knows? If he will ever fully recover from the Croatia thing, who knows? Wil he ever become the keeper the Liverpool scouts though he could, who knows? 4-yr deals at 25-30k make it a bit of a risk. I'll be interested to see how he does at WBA, Blackburn or wherever. But I think we're better off out of it at £4m + telephone number wages, when our kitty is so limited and with so many oher holes to fill. I saw enough Villa games last season to know he wasn't awful. You have to remember Villa have had Sorensen in goal for a long time, and he was by all accounts a very good keeper. If he was so awful, why were VIlla keen to sign him permanently, until Liverpool named £10m as their price?

I think he's already had a medical with Stoke and is now having one with Albion. Personally, I don't think Blackburn want him, I think its just paper talk.

I think the problem with Hull is that you've signed Fagan who is certainly not Premiership standard, Warner, who is shockingly inconsistent, and Halmosi who looked good at Championship level, but not good enough, in my eyes for the Premiership. Boateng is getting on a bit now and has lost his pace. Mendy and Geovanni are good players, IMO, but you've also lost Frazier Campbell, who even the most die-hard Hull supporters saw as key to your success last year. You've also lost Clement who was very solid at the back, and in my opinion your squad now, is no better than it was at the end of last year.

The man in charge of West Brom's transfers is not in Holland though. Dan Ashworth has been given a list of names by Mowbray, and is in contact with him, but I don't think Mowbray's needed in England to complete the transfer.

Baggiejp, I did see your lot at the brit, but I didnt see anything special, the result, 3-1 says that. Ultimately, Wba got promoted as Champions, fair play on balance your were the best team in the league but the league doesnt lie, we were 2nd !! So as I see it there isnt some kind of 'enormous gulf' in the two sides ability. as I stated in my previous post, your time in the Prem made most of your fans beleive your own 'Hype' as if you had some kind of Rite to be in the big time. We have earned our time in the Prem just as you have and we will give it our best shot doing it which ever way gets results. Have I said anything about an enormous gulf? We were the best team in the Championship...by two points wasn't it? I don't think we did much better than you last season. Where are opinions differ, is that I believe that our style will get us more points in the Premier League than yours will get you. But only time will tell.
