Culture and the potential for an honour based murder means there is a real risk of harm before they are safe. By putting the metal in underwear it triggers the alarm which then means a private search with security and once in a safe place and away from mum and dad, they can say what is happening and be looked after. This stuff sadly is a reality. Lovely parents these people make, why would any parent murder their own child for shunning an arranged paedophile marriage Because they put their religion and culture before their own kids (never mind anyone else!) obviously.

It's that time of year where the lasses of Leeds take their favourite spoon on holiday
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-44812530
If someone said spoons to mine she's immediately thinking about the old Post Office in Newcastle. Wouldn't a fish knife be more appropriate ?, why the fuck don't they just open their mouths and report their fears ? Look what happens to them if they even object to being forced into "marraige" - assassination.

Great get him signed up, will be decent championship player. When played against us for Sunderland he used to beat the man and smack the ball hard and low into the box. All we have to do is get someone to make runs into the box to finish 😁😁 We have enough “decent” championship-level players. We need to build a team based on up and coming players that can get us promoted and keep us up. I am not interested in being a mid-table championship team. Look what happened the last time we saved a player from "West Brom hell"!

I don't know if any of you follow motorcycle road racing but this is yet another sad story to beset this tragic family. During my working career I was fortunate to work with both Robert and Joey Dunlop - great riders, and fairly shy, down to earth family men. William Dunlop was the son of Robert Dunlop and nephew of the great Joey Dunlop. He has a younger brother Michael Dunlop who is also a famous road racing motorcyclist. William's father Robert successfully raced motorcycles at UK race circuits for the JPS Norton team amongst others, and also on the roads and competed in the Isle of Man TT races (winning 6), North West 200 amongst many others. He was badly injured at the IOM TT in 1994 after the rear wheel on his Honda collapsed after landing at Ballaugh Bridge, sending him into a wall. He made a recovery of sorts and returned to racing but was sadly killed in practice at the 2005 North West 200 in Northern Ireland. He was 47 years old. William's uncle was the late, great Joey Dunlop who had won 26 IOM TT races and countless other road races. He was sadly killed in 2000 aged 48 in Estonia during a road race which he had attended that year instead of competing at The Skerries as he normally would have done. He had decided to give the Skerries a miss as one of his former sponsors had committed suicide just prior to the Skerries race. William himself had previously won several races at the North West 200 but had crashed at the 2014 IOM TT breaking his left leg. He had had mixed results since and was sadly killed during practice for The Skerries race this weekend. He was just 32 years old. Michael, aged 29, has so far won 18 IOM TT races and is a regular competitor at the North West 200 and countless other Irish road races. His nickname is "Raging Bull" due to his rampaging, often reckless, racing style and character. I sincerely don't wish any ill on him but with the best will in the world it would appear to be just a matter of time before Michael suffers the same fate as his brother, father and uncle. A good piece until the stupid last paragraph. We and they know how dangerous it can be but just because misfortune have hit that family doesn't mean it will claim another. The more members take part then the odds do change but that last bit you said was wasn't right.

Surely it would be less of a problem if you could only play for the country you were born in, and not your Frannie or milkman. And that you were proud to play for them.

How sad that despite potentially being the highlight of his career playing in a World Cup he’s had to tell his parents to stay away due to fear of them being racially abused which lets face it is a justified fear, it irks me that that backward country is hosting this event, I went to France 2 years ago and despite the atrocious football had a great time but there’s zero chance I’d ever go to Russia. Leeds fan friends of mine tell me Rose's dad goes to games with some of their "boys". Perhaps he doesn't want his father getting nicked!

Some good juicy away games coming up. The great thing next season is that two thirds of the games are within 80 Miles. Elland road, a weird lot up there! Here is an experience I had up there once, I think some on here will remember this match. It was 1974 I was 17, we were top of the league at the time, about 5000 Stokies travelled that day, just before Christmas if I remember right. On the way to the ground from the station we had mounted police escort, got pelted with half-enders which came flying over billboards onto the main road. The coppers did fuck all about it, more interested in keeping us in line. After the game in the mayhem outside we got split from the main group and ended up on the side roads, which was more of a demolition site than streets, being chased, after a while I found myself up an alley, there was 5 or 6 Leeds fans following, come to a dead end, by now I was pretty wound up so I remember thinking "fuck this, I've got to get to the station or I'm dead", I ran at them shouting I'll kill you fucking bastards, after taking the first one out and whacking another, the road was clear. I ran to a garage, where I waited for ten minutes and the manager took me to the station, the train was just about to pull off as I boarded. The carriage looked like a war zone medical bay, just a few bruises and a cut lip for me. When we got back we went to Hanley bus station to clean up, and then off to the Place in Bryan street, those were the days. PS, We lost 3-1 by the way I was at that game in the Lowfields side. Shilton played. Didn't seem like 5,000 Stoke below that southstand, distinctly remember being disappointed by the number for being top team. More like 1,000. Remember seeing some of the lads looking hurt entering train station after. I from the area and know a few of the real nutters from the early 80's and they are still bsrmy nowadays!

Just no way will I ever go to Elland Road again- in 1975 I spent 90 minutes listening to the “missing links” singing “Mama- just killed a fan, put a gun....”- and I believed every word of it! I got nicked at Leeds in the 80s, they had a bit of a firm waiting for us at the City Arms. Never heard of the City Arms. Know Leeds centre well but Where was that?

Griffin Park - Brentford's last season there and it's a ground that I've never managed to visit yet! Looking forward to getting on the terrace and having plenty of decent pubs to choose from pre-match. [br Last time I went there with Stoke there was a pub outside each 4 corners of the ground so did 2 pre and 2 post match. Took a Bradford City fan with us and he was most impressed by the range of old 70' style songs that were sung by Stoke!

BBQuers are a selfish smelly lot. They do it in hot weather so folks who most likely have windows or doors open have to suffer it. And folks clothes on washing lines will probably have to be washed again. My wife mentions getting one every now and then and I just say use the flipping kitchen oven or a George Foreman and take it outside. That's what a kitchen is for!

Since when have football fans been saints? It's about rivalry and alot of hatred of bitter rival teams but I don't think deep down after some naughty things are sung that folk really mean harm. That's what the sport can make folk.

If Shawcross and Stoke City hadn't been crucified by the media as if it was deliberate harm them Stoke fans wouldn't have reacted that way. It was a broken leg anyway, a fairly common injury, nothing life threatening. Nah nothing life threatening so let's take the piss out of the poor lad every time we play them to show how classy we are. If your reaction is to insult Ramsay who did nothing wrong because of how the media portray Shawcross then there's something wrong in your head. It wasn't my personal reaction. I was simply stating that folk get peeved with how media (I didn't mention Ramsey himself) portrayed the event. I didn't condone it but can see why it came about.

Respect is earned, mate. Ramsey and all associated with that vile club have done nothing to earn any respect from Stoke fans. Regardless of whether MOTD or anyone else gives us credit, we have stamped our mark in the Premier League over the last ten years. Arsenal fans will remember Huddersfield as that nice club that politely applauded Wenger for his last game and presented him with a nice half and half shirt. They’ll remember us as the team that routinely battered them at the Brit and mocked Wenger to the point of humiliation. Liverpool will remember us as the team that ruined Gerrard’s farewell party with a 6-1 thrashing, alongside several other times where we wiped the floor with them at the Brit. Man City fans night tell you they remember destroying us 7-2, but I promise you any of them who attended that game with the 80th minute roar and an unlikely 1-0 Stoke win, or witnessed Crouches’ wonder goal, or the BMX master-class when we played their highly paid superstars off the park will remember us differently. Spurs fans might remember a few 4 goal wins, but anyone who saw their goalkeeper reduced to a blubbering mess, or Danny Rose almost given a nervous breakdown, won’t forget us in a hurry. Regardless of what MOTD say, we’ve had plenty of moments over the last ten years that will go down in history, while the likes of Huddersfield, Brighton and any other number of clubs will go down without so much as a second glance. I wouldn’t change a minute of it if I’m being honest. And I agree with you, however what I said is completely different. Mocking a serious injury is not classy at all, just makes us look like mugs. If Shawcross and Stoke City hadn't been crucified by the media as if it was deliberate harm them Stoke fans wouldn't have reacted that way. It was a broken leg anyway, a fairly common injury, nothing life threatening.

Don't understand why folk make a big deal about people who leave a bit early. Some live a distance and need a pint to drown sorrows before catching a train (me). It's not as if Stoke ever do anything good in the last minutes of a game either. Not heard anyone have a go at the latecomers to their seats, same thing. You pays yer money you do what YOU want not please others.
