Not as far as I'm aware. At least not for today.

If we did buy the lad, I would let him stay at Huddersfield for this season and next. Let us know what he's like, that is if he plays.

Perhaps I was thinking of Peterborough's keeper?

Perhaps I was thinking of Peterborough's keeper? Joe Lewis? I think he got sent off for the first time in his career in the Carling Cup in the week

Yeh, but i doubt were interested in Joe Lewis, a decent future England keepe and Chelsea have been sniffing around him. Id be happy with Smithies, then sell Simmo to a decent championship club, he'll do them a job.

Smithies played well today, without having much to do.
Reid was very annoyed with the linesman yesterday, and said that errors like that (not flagging Craddock offside) prove that technology must be introduced into the game.

Did he mention anything about Smithies?

He said he was looking at him. I also found out he lives in Eccleshall (Reid that is)!

Anything juicy thugh? You could have car shared!

Nah, nothing juicy. Spoke to the Huddersfield chairman though, who seems resigned to losing Smithies, with Stoke leading the chase 'by a mile'. He doesn't think the other interested clubs will match the asking price.

Another thread'I have heard that apparently stoke offered town £2million and hoyle laughed at it and said he made that in a week. Then they came back with a offer of £5million which included add-ons and was turned down again, even alex smithies himself has ruled out going to stoke as he would rather stay at town then be on the bench. Do you think this will be our first transfer in January then Knowles? He looks a class act for a 19 year old.

Skinner- How the hell is he overlooked for the under 21s? I suppose it's good news for you guys, but very strange for Pearce not to pick him.
By the way, I thought you were very efficient on Sunday. Fully deserved win.

Fully deserved win. What about those conditions though...shocking and completely destroyed any chance of a decent game. In the end it came down to them being shite and not being able to handle the conditions aswell as us. None of us have a clue why he is being overlooked. He has been number 1 at under 17s and under 19s. I think it comes down to him playing in league one for a side that isn't really doing all that well. If we can keep our current form up and he continues to play in the same vein then it is only a matter of time. He is twice the keeper of Scott Loach of Watford and i'd say he is better than Joe Lewis who seems to drop clanger after clanger

I wouldn't wish Scott Loach on the Vale. Every time I've seen him (not much granted) he has been woeful and will just makes a stupid mistake.
