Cut Your nose off to spite Your face eh the not so wisemaster? Mama should be nowhere near the first team squad for a month imo.

For all those who've criticised my stance on Pulis's favouritism, stubbornness, limited tactical thinking and general ineptitude regarding change - this thread will tell you I'm not in a minority.
We won last week and I was delighted, but it papered over several cracks and we could (should) have been 3 down in 20 minutes.
We had the best 45 minutes of the season today, and should have capitalised on it. What did he do? He brought an unfit player into the squad and then onto the pitch.
Why? Because he's a managerial favourite, the manager stubbornly refuses to change his tactic and when an onfield move around is required, he doesn't have to nous to make it.
This was two points lost today and anyone who spouts "just look at the table" as a valid reason for not questioning certain decisions needs to look closely at their reasons for continuing to wear the rosy specs.

Thats a bit too cut and dried Alan. Of course most of us would agree that the substitutions were poor today but the fact remains that we didnt lose and havent lost for 4 games. The table doesnt lie, despite you wanting to disregard it and what it shows is that over 11 games we are comfortably placed. Thatmeans Pulis has got more right than wrong--again.

Swampy - I think he just got lucky, rather than more right than wrong.
However, thanks for making a valid comment rather than being abusive.

Of course most of us would agree that the substitutions were poor today And if that is the case then surely nowt wrong with discussing those specifics, regardless of our current league position, I would have thought.

Almost came to a sticky end today though Beardy.
It won't last forever, then what excuses will the rimmers have?

Let's hope we don't, and he stays lucky.
I don't mind him being lucky, just as long as the rimmers stop calling it "genius".

Yes, but most of us are happy with a "thank you". Judging by your dissatisfaction about sitting comfortably in mid-table i didn't think you'd be so easily pleased.

Ah, I haven't said I'm dissatisfied with midtable, just dissatisfied that it's used as the ONLY excuse for poor performances, managerial decisions, substitutions and just about anything else when properly thought out responses can't dispute the facts.

One rule for one... Not surprised at all about this. Kitson is our leading scorer. First Beattie walks back in (and admittedly has done well) but now Sidibe waltzes back in too with our LEADING SCORER not even on the bench. Kitson is joint leading scorer with Beattie ... get your facts sorted. If Kitson has done wrong then the club will deal with it. At the end of the day TP will have to explain his reasons for dropping Kitson .... so i am sure Kitsons training ground bust up must have some weight. IMO Kitson must have done something wrong!

It says a lot on how Kitson has started this season to be having a lot of support from the board.!
I like TP, but sometimes his show of favouritism towards certain players shows a weekness & it has cost Stoke before and will again.

I thought that Kitson's showed a pretty lousy attitude when he came on as a sub in the West Ham match. He appeared, to me at least, to sulk around 10 yards behind Fuller, and missed a golden opportunity to score when he didn't run into the box when even I could see from Fuller's run to the right of goal where the ball was going to be passed. If that is the basic problem with the lad - easily upset and doesn't knuckle down to win his place back - then this was never going to end any other way but ugly.

We were just getting out of him what we had paid for in the Bolton game, he was all over the pitch giving it 100% and scored a very good goal.
Shouldn't have been dropped so easily on that form, same will happen with Wilko next week though unfortunately.

No Wilko wasn't marking Craddock but if Huth was in i'm not sure Beattie would have been either.

We have 3 Premiership class strikers at Stoke and will need to keep them all if we are to improve on last season's heroics. Dave Kitson should be fighting with Beattie for the secind striker role and playing with him when Ricci is unavailable.
Unfit players should be getting fit on the training ground and in the reserves.

Whoever is to blame its a very disappointing situation. TP set Kitson a 15 goals target then doesn't play him. If Reid fell out with him they both should have sorted it out there and then and moved on. Its not difficult to imagine those 2 falling out is it though.

Kitson's attitude and application have been second to none this season. Like a few players, he appears to have been unceremoniously dropped in favour of either out of form or inferior players.
I think as the season wears on, there will be a number of players who won't be happy to see TP's "squad game" pan out with the constant selection of favourites.
I wish Kitson all the best wherever he goes next, because this season he was been treated very poorly by the management.

Almost came to a sticky end today though Beardy. It won't last forever, then what excuses will the rimmers have? Alan - the rimmers don't have anything to prove - they've already been proven right. Your assertion that Pulis has just "been lucky" (over a period of three years! THREE FUCKING YEARS) is absolutely ludicrous and just shows that you aren't remotely fair-minded when it comes to the manager. For what it's worth I wouldn't have dropped Kitson at all and it was crazy to have Mama on the bench instead of him.

proberbly Kitson is the only player to speak his mind down there about shit training methods and ask for a reason why he was dropped in the first place......and the Pulis reply would be thats my decision end of......under Pulis other players have learnt to keep there head down and say nothing and mayee they might just might be picked again.

I rarely believe these daft rumours, but what I don't believe is why Kitson was left off the bench in favour of a not fully fit Mama. Kitson was gash the other night, but so were most of the team - he would be an excellent player to bring off the bench when we were pegged back; he's got a good finish.
